There are so many great things about this book that I love and that I have not seen in any other rocker romance books. I love the heavy emotional aspect of this book. I NEVER cry while reading book...okay I do get choked up and my eyes tend to sting, but hardly ever are there actual tears...this book has made my list of ugly cry books.     Who knew on a dare, one finds an unexpected guy who pursues you after your pass is covered in loss. Zack is a rockstar who is part of a dare and Nicole always takes dares.     Nicole is 26 years old, living in an apartment in Minnesota and has a successful photography business. Her best friend Mia has been working on bringing Nicole back into the dating world and is shocked when she finally agrees to visit an old favorite bar that they used to frequent.

    Mia dares Nicole to flirt with two guys sitting quietly in a corner of the bar. This is the last thing that Nicole wants to do but she also rarely turns down a dare issued by Mia and with the prize being a new pair of shoes if she goes through with it, how could she refuse?

    Nicole’s attempt at flirting doesn’t quite go as planned so she decides honesty might be the better option. However, she had no idea that the two guys she was talking to are from the hottest rock band on the planet. She has been out of the music loop for a couple of years and doesn’t recognise them at all. It takes Mia to figure it out for her.

    Zach Walters is used to females trying to get his attention and to be fair he has indulged in plenty of them over the last few years. After initially thinking that Nicole was hitting on him because she knew who he was, he is surprised to find out she has no idea who he is. It’s so refreshing to talk to someone who just genuinely wants to chat and get to know him.

    There is something about this girl that has him wanting to spend more time with her so he invites them to spend some time with him and his band. Nicole is reluctant but knowing how crazy mad Mia is about the band she goes along for the ride. This turns out to be a life changing decision she did not see coming.

    Zack is completely taken with Nicole, there is an undeniable connection that they both feel and it’s not something Zack has every experienced before. All he knows is that he cannot let her walk away without exploring where this could go. Nicole battles with what she is feeling for Zack and not letting go of the memories of her past.

    When Nicole confides in Zack about her past and her hesitation to move forward with him he is so incredibly patient and understanding with her. Honestly, it’s like these two were made for each other. I’m so glad that he never gave up on Nicole. What a wonderful discovery this was in my unread collection :) This story gave me all those wonderful book feels that I love!

    Nicole has had it tough when the worst kind of tragedy hits her life, she basically shuts down for months at a time, until one night she cant even take anymore of her own sadness and decides that going out with her very best friend Mia and putting a smile on her face, all be it a fake smile, will make everything better.
    Little does Nicole know that whole night will change her life for the good.

    Nicole has never been able to turn down a bet and Mia knows its the only way to get Nicole to have some fun, Mia dares Nicole to flirt with a guy in the bar get him to buy her a drink and she will buy her designer shoes. Nicole set out to flirt with the guy but totally folds and tells the stranger all about the bet, unknowing that she is stood talking to a rock star!

    Zack is a all round great guy, hot as all get out and so very interested in the woman who has no idea who he really is, so she doesnt want him for his money or star status.
    Zack is a true friend to his band members and doesnt have the usual baggage or huge ego most book rock stars have, no great problem being hounded by groupies like the usual plot line for rock star books. He loves the music and his band is grateful of the living it provides and wants nothing more than to have a woman who sees him, just him.

    The way that Zack handles the family situation with Nicole was beautifully written it had me in tears, he is truly supportive and feels Nicole's loss. The grave side scene had me in bits, Nicole struggling with guilt and Zack listening to her tell Mark and Andrew about him, many tissues later so i could just keep reading.

    The supporting characters relationships in this story are great, the band members and Mia help carry the plot and story well. The plot keeps you engaged, you cant put this book down it is just fantastic.

    I loved how we see Nicole say goodbye to her old life and accept that she can have a new one with a wonderful man, but not totally forget her old life, it is ok for her to move forward and to live again but still keep her memories.

    Truly a moving and beautiful story well written with a HEA, looking forward to reading the next book in the series Just one week.
