Editorial Reviews

From the Author

This is my cosy and light romance, although it does touch on mental health issues and I hope that gives it more depth than the average romance. I based this book in the place I grew up, and I hope it conveys the sweet highland charm of a really amazing place I spent my youth.

This is the first time i'm writing review for a book. I Love this story which is a Love triangle. The setting is in a small charming village in Scotland with its rustic charm and friendly people. Rose the protagonist is a sweet, intelligent, stunning girl with a air of innocence and empathy towards her fellow humans. She came to Scotland as she inherited her aunts cottage and there she falls in love with the laird of the village Rob. Rob is a handsome Scottish gentleman with a genuine love for his people, affection for his sister and a fierce love for Rose.
It is Love at first sight for both Rose and Rob. But Rob was forced to keep his distance from Rose because of his former girlfriend Morag who keeps Rob all to herself preventing him from having relationship of any kind. As the attraction started to sizzle they were unable to stand the separation and gave in but at the same time kept their relationship a secret. Rose soon understands the intensity of the issue when she learns more about past of Morag and broke up with Rob. As true love cannot be suppressed Rob and Rose reunited again much to the displeasure of Morag. Though we hate Morag in the beginning for her clingy bitchy behavior and over-possessiveness towards Rob later we understand that is a victim of a dysfunctional family who longs for love and affection just like any other girl. As Rob is the only one who treats her with love and respect she clings to him with everything in her. Though she is a negative character we do really fell sorry for her broken self.
Another significant character in the story is Abby who is Robs little sister and Rose's best friend. I cant find enough words to describe the cute little darling our fluffy white bundle of energy Muffin. I admire the way in which Muffins character is portrayed. We cant separate her from the story. She is such a integral part of the story. I very much like the ending of the story where the couple lived happily ever after with a baby on the way. Though Love is a sweet emotion Love of a girl from a dysfunctional family is self-destructive and highly dangerous for others where us Love of a girl from a good family is forgiving and enduring. The emotion is same but the consequence is very different. So Just Rose is a combination of Love, sentiment, humor, devotion and empathy. My appreciation for the author for the good work. I hope this review is helpful. Thank you.

I am a fan of this author’s Carrero Series, one of the best romance series I have ever read, and thought it was time that I read her first book that she published, Just Rose.

In true Marshall fashion, she sucked me into this story of Rob and Rose, the two meet in an almost car accident and the fireworks begin!

I enjoyed reading the story of these two love birds and the trials and tribulations they had to deal with while trying to start a relationship. The detailing of the scenes in this book are amazing and draw you in so much that you can visualize the different scenes happening in the book as you turn page after page! It has romance, it has suspense and definitely has some epically written drama!

For all of those that love a little spicy romance I recommend you try this one out and if the Author happens to see this, if you ever think about revisiting the Munro family I am sure that I will be reading it upon its release!!!

Just Rose is the first book I have read by L. T. Marshall and it is wonderful romance that offers lots of charm, deep emotions, humor and sweetness. This is Rob and Rose story and I love both of these characters so much. Their attraction was strong and their chemistry generated lots of sparks. The storyline was engaging and fun but offers a solid amount of drama and emotional turmoil as this couples relationship evolves into more than they ever imagined.

The book starts interestingly and I love the chemistry between Rose and Rob. I love how she and Abby relate and their banter is fun, but the “foreboding”and “foreboding” and “foreboding” that Rose gets tends to be repetitive to a certain point and nothing happens for a long time turning the story into a series of anticlimactic events. The story gets into a lot of details and then “tries” to be a hot romance that doesn’t fit with the mystery that the author is trying to portray or is it the other way around. To many random events and people that you wonder after what did they have to do with the story. I was curious enough to see how it played out to force myself to read through Roses repetitive mind rants to the *finally* climax (which was good) and a happy ever after ending that could’ve been shorter instead of winded out but it is still sweet, hence the 3rd star.

The book is a good small town romance read. The story has a good story line. The characters are good, and they have good chemistry. The story is an enjoyable read.

I liked the story. Sometimes Rose got on my nerves, but then again so did Rob. Lack of communication. But the thing that got me the most was grammar and punctuation. Roses instead of Rose's, capitalization in the middle of a sentence and the use of exclamation points when they weren't needed. Just made it distracting

This book was hard for me to get into and had a hard time holding my interest throughout the story, hence the 3 stars. This is a story of Rose whose life is pretty much uneventful so when her aunt passes away she moves to her cottage in the country. She just wants to find her place in the world but can she do that in the country lifestyle away from everyone in the city? An encounter with handsome Laird of the Munro Estate makes Rose realize that maybe she will find someone.

5.0 out of 5 stars I was Rose for the whole of the book! Fabulous Read!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on October 20, 2019
I'm not surprised this book has 33 reviews. It was a fabulous read. I really enjoyed it and most of the time I became the main character and got to enjoy her lifestyle and the handsome Rob Munro.

How do write about a romance where two people just love each other without it becoming boring? Well, ask L.T. Marshall. Usually it is the chase, the conflict, and the getting together before the end of the book. Just Rose was so much more. I wasn't sure how I felt about Rose not being a fiesty, strong female. I'm used to heroines being stong. In real life though, it isn't always like that. Rose, when she can't deal with a situation, especially when it involved the gorgeous Rob, just had a melt down of tears. There were lots of tear tantrums, and after a while I got used to that side of her character.

She had a lovely sort of life after inheriting a pretty little cottage from her Aunt and decorates it making it a cosy place to live. As a talented illutrator, she also get to work from home and loves pink, has beautiful dresses and drives a pink car. The village she lives in is quaint with a super bakery that made the most delicious bread and cakes. (And she didn't appear to put on weight!) I found myself begining to envy Rose's life. I wanted to be Rose, and I could be her be in the pages of this story!

Then she meet the handsome Rob, who has fire in his eyes when his emotions smoulded. He was the laird of the manor, everyone knew him and his family. Abby, his sister, becomes her best friend. They have girly nights and days together. There are parties in which Rose becomes hopelessly drunk, and you are with her every step of the way!

Just a great read and I can't recommend it more!

A great book from a fantastic author. L.T.Marshall has a writing style that just sucks you right into the book and makes you feel part of the story.
A feel good love story that has a few twists and turns and also deals, very delicately, with mental health issues. This book made me laugh out loud in places and in others I was in tears, all the while wrapping itself around me like a warm hug.
