Katrina Ogden Mysteries, Book 1: KO'D In Honolulu (Katrina Ogden Murder Mysteries) Kindle Edition

4.0 out of 5 stars 13 ratings

Honolulu police officer Katrina Ogden, also known as K.O., intends to become a homicide detective but she keeps becoming embroiled in cases that find her rather than the ones she's assigned.

Paradise is filled with danger...

Heroes, Homicide, and Honolulu...

Brassy Honolulu police officer, Katrina (K.O.) Ogden, runs a tight ship, calling things as she sees them while serving and protecting the people of Hawaii. But, after K.O. becomes connected to a series of recent homicides, the whole department could be in danger.

When K.O. realizes the killer is right on her heels, she abandons her investigation and goes into hiding. With a murderer who knows too much about her--all the while baiting K.O. with gifts and clues to help along her case--and can access their new state-of-the-art computer system with ease, it's time for K.O. to do what she does best: Knock out the criminal before he strikes again.

Review

Another new release with a Hawaiian setting is "KO'd in Honolulu" by Victoria Heckman. published by Writer's Exchange. Katrina Ogden (KO of the title) is a Honolulu Police Officer in charge of the records division. She gets caught up in a tale of murder and suspense when murdered women bearing an eerie resemblance to her begin turning up in the Aloha state. There is a lot of gripping suspense and local color. Katrina is an intelligent, engaging protagonist, the best Honolulu cop since McGarrett. Reviewed By Mark Troy, Author of "Pilikia Is My Business," a mystery novel from LTDBooks and "The Big Dance With Death"

I only hope Heckman keeps writing. Her writing makes you feel like you are really at each location she writes about. I've been to the islands and she describes everything perfectly. Oh yes her story lines are fantastic. Don't want to put her books down.

This is a new series for me and I really enjoyed this first book. Since I have been to Hawaii several times, I love the settings. I love Hawaiian settings and have read several mysteries with a Hawaiian locale. I'm onto my second in the KO series.

This is a dreadfully amateurish book. The heroine is a glorified records clerk who acts like a teenager but is permitted to carry a gun. She is unprofessional to the point of being ridiculous and continually puts herself in danger as no cop worth her salt would. Charcter development, dialogue, plot are incompetent. Once the mystery is solved, the book goes on and on and on. Don't waste your time and money with this one; it is insipid and a waste of both.
