Keep Me: A Rutledge Brothers Book Kindle Edition

4.3 out of 5 stars 201 ratings

For here or to go? It’s a question Nathaniel O’Toole asks every day while working in his uncle’s pie shop. But when Harrison Rutledge walks through the front door, Nathaniel can’t help but imagine a third option—forever.
Not that it’s possible, of course.
Even if a guy as attractive as Harrison wanted him, Nathaniel’s duty is with his uncle’s business. Ever since his older brother disappeared, he’s done his best to keep what little family he has left together.
He can’t let a man interfere.
At least, not until the impossible happens and Nathaniel’s brother comes home.

Nathaniel O’Toole is the sweetest thing in Pie Five bakery, and Harrison Rutledge can’t help but want a taste. When he leaves his number, he hopes Nathaniel will call to ask him out, but when he finally gets in touch, it’s for business—his brother needs help.
And so might Harrison if he can’t get Nathaniel out of his head.

Keep Me is the third and final novella in the Rutledge Brothers series. Please note: this book was previously released in May 2017 under the same title, but its contents, including elements of its plot, have significantly changed.

Harrison is the last brother in the triplets to meet his match! There are stories in the omegaverse where I am uncomfortable with how a couple gets together, this is not one of those stories. It’s so beautiful that I’m bursting with all the feels! These three brothers are genuinely nice, interesting, brave, self-sacrificing Alphas, and their tenderness brings me to tears. You have to start with book 1 but you won’t regret meeting these gorgeous souls out to help Omegas!!

This is the third book in The Rutledge Brothers series. I’ve read this book three times already, but this is my first time reading the updated version, which I enjoyed. Harrison is the third Rutledge brother and a trained doula, who meets the love of his life when he stops for pie at a local restaurant. Nate immediately feels a connection with Harrison when the handsome alpha enters his restaurant, but in the midst of this beginning connection, Nate’s life changes drastically when Nate’s long lost brother is finally found. Dylan is pregnant and traumatized, and the baby’s due date is just around the corner. Not knowing who to turn to, Nate reaches out to Harrison for help. As love blooms between Nate and Harrison, everyone prepares for the baby to be born.

This book was short but sweet, and a nice conclusion to the series. I liked the revised edition, but like the other two books, it doesn’t reach it’s true potential due to the shortness of the story.

Loved seeing the last brother find his HEA! Loved Nate and Harry and seeing Dylan flourish. Wish we saw more of a pregnant Nate or them having the baby

This is the third book in the Rutledge Brothers series, with Harrison being the last brother to find his omega. While the first two books focused more intensely on the sex trafficking ring, the main characters are affected, but not directly involved parties.

Harrison has found his calling as being a doula for pregnant omegas. This is not typically a job held by alphas, but it is his way of helping others. After a very long shift, he decides to stop by a bakery that was recommended to him. While trying to decide what to order, an omega brings out a pie, and the sight of him addles Harry's brain.

Nathaniel is an omega who has been raised by his Uncle Martin and has worked very hard to get the business where it is today. He's young, but he has been through his own heartache. When his brother returns after five years, damaged, desolate, very pregnant, and afraid of doctors, Nate immediately thinks of Harry.

The two men share a brief kiss, but Nate leaves immediately. Harry misunderstands the situation, but knows he shouldn't get involved while he's still working with Dylan through his pregnancy. Once Dylan gives birth, Nate finds himself in an unexpected situation.

When Harry realizes what is happening, he goes to check on Dylan and the baby; and gets quite a stern talking to. He learns the truth of how Nate feels, and what he needs to do. After the situation has passed, the relationship is quickly glossed over...this is a novella after all. They date for a while before they finally end up becoming intimate.

When their relationship reaches a certain point, they decide on what they want from the future. However, the future is coming a lot faster than they had anticipated. Even so, everything falls together leading them to their HEA.

    Happy reading!

    * I received an ARC of this book and I am leaving my honest review. *

We meet Nathaniel who is raised by his unclle Martin. Together they run a coffee shop. Then Dylan, Nate's older brother comes back after five years, a bit damaged due to some traficking and he is very pregnant. nate learns that he is afraid of doctors, and of course Nate also longs for Harry, who is a doula and alpha.
We see that Nate is the one who tries to keep the familybond tight and helps his brother through this. At the end..the true feelings comes forward for nate.
Uncle Martin sees it to and lets some stuff be changed. At a point in the story I just wanted to jump in and hug them all.
The characters are so well developed and the plotline is as good as always and Piper Scott has done a well done job on these three books.
Definitely on my to be read again list.

Like the previous Rutledge Brothers stories, there's a portion of the story that's fairly dark and a portion that's fluffy as heck. Perhaps there's something wrong with my own psyche, but the darker portions of this book were the ones I enjoyed the most.

There's a fairly heavy back story involving Nathaniel's brother, Dylan, who has returned home after years away and traumatic experiences. The scenes with Dylan, while he's angry, bitter, suspicious and trying to hide his fear, were the ones that sucked me in the most. That story, including his recovery, could have caused the overall story arc to be drawn out into a novella at the least and I would've been all in.

On the other side of things, there's the meet-cute and relationship between Nathaniel and Harrison, which is totally love at first sight, and just about as fluffy as it gets. This had the feel of a fated mates kind of thing, it was so instantaneous. My cold, black heart wouldn't have minded time for some angst. But if you like gooey fluff, this does balance out the story with Dylan.

As a final note, for the audio book edition, Dennis Adams narration was quite good, in my opinion. He differentiates voices pretty well, the emotion and pacing felt right to me, and his sometimes robotic tone worked very well to match how Dylan's speech was described.

I really loved this book and it was a great end to this chapter in Aurora.

I really like both Harrison and Nate. They are both such sweet, loving and caring people and they just fit.

It left me with a big smile on my face.

Sweet, sweet book (with some hard moments and hard truths) I will enjoy rereading it
