A dear friend is an elementary school teacher and I’m always on the lookout for fun and educational books that she can share with her students. The FlyingKids’ Travel Guide Series has been the best gift(s) ever. Her students love them and, better yet, they learn and enjoy doing so. The series covers everything from geography to culture; history to lifestyles of the various countries. The new book in the series, FlyingKids’ Guide to China even taught me something. Did you know that the Chinese invented toilet paper? I can’t recommend the series enough – for travelers, educators, students and kids of all ages.

China is a big subject ... but this book provides a great overview in a fun way. Helps kids understand the vastness of the country and its very long history, and gives tips and interesting facts about major cities and important landmarks, Kids learn about famous Chinese people from history and today and get a fun look at Chinese life and customs, including food, holidays, sports, and even a little language. Games and quizzes keep kids from getting bored. A great addition to a family vacation in this fascinating country (as well as a great way to learn about China from home).
