Kissing Lessons (Valentine's Inc. Book 10) Kindle Edition

3.9 out of 5 stars 242 ratings

Valentine’s Inc.: we’ll help you find your perfect match; no matter what.

Those who can’t do; teach. Those who don’t date; matchmake. At least, that’s how it was for me, Witt Ramsey. After a breakup that left me heartbroken and bitter, with no desire to date, I threw myself into work to save Valentine’s Inc. from bankruptcy.

My life felt busy and fulfilling until Tony Morelli walked in. Following a string of dating disasters, I made it my mission to help Tony find his perfect match. But between his old-school ways and his abrupt demeanor, I realized I had my work cut out for me. After some makeover tips and a series of trial dates, Tony was ready to meet his match.

But after getting to know him, was I ready for that?

I've read, and enjoyed, this author before. BUT. There was ZERO chemistry between these two! I get that this is a short story, but I've read 40 pages that developed more chemistry. I wouldn't recommend this book. Part of a stand-alone series. Photo of the order included

This book is a perfect Valentine's Day treat combing two imperfectly perfect for each other men in the style that fans of Brittany Cournoyer's books have come to love! The matchmaker finding his happily ever after was the perfect way to end this amazing series! Grab Kissing Lessons, you're going to love it!

Thank you, Brittany. This was a cute love story. I really enjoyed Tony's character. And of course Leyla was awesomely sneaky.

A sweet-romance-in-the-making if ever there was one. I liked the MCs, I liked the premise for the dating lessons, and who doesn’t like an HEA? However, I took issue with a few things.

First, Tony Morelli, the guy we don’t even discover is a cop for a while because he's so poorly introduced, is brusque to the point of rudeness. I don’t ‘believe’ him. What cop, with the years of experience we’re led to believe he has, and of a certain age — because we’re told he’s older, presumably than Witt — is so abrupt with someone he’s asking for help? And what adult doesn’t know how to dress for a date? Ragged jeans, unkempt hair, and impoliteness are apparently this public servant’s trademark, as well as gruffness and cluelessness. Maybe if I had been made privy to what HIS thought processes were, as much as I was made aware of Witt’s, I would have found those extremes of behavior and deportment believable. Which is another problem I find with the story. Witt Ramsey, who runs Valentine’s Inc., is the only character whose point of view we share. We know nothing he doesn’t tell us, and as he’s not privy to Tony’s thoughts, we never hear them till the end of the story.

Then, too, the introduction of Ryan is an issue for me because it muddies the water, so to speak, especially since he disappears as easily and swiftly as he appears. I get why he’s in the story, but I think if Witt and Tony had had more time to be together, Ryan would have been unnecessary. Which brings me to my last issue. There’s so much potential for a great sweet romance in this tale that I wonder why the writer chose to rush it as she did. These guys fall in love in a very brief stretch of time, during which we see very little of them together in ways that would explain the love-at-almost-first-sight thing. And once again, if we had been given a chance to see what Tony was thinking, this might have felt less forced.

And what's with the title? It's befuddling, since Tony and Witt only kiss one time before the end, and there's no learning or teaching happening. I thought this was a story about DATING lessons, so what gives with "Kissing" in the title? It suggests there's a whole lot more kissing in the book than there is, and that at least one of the MCs doesn't know how to do it satisfactorily. That's false advertising, to be sure, and misleading if, like me, readers go in expecting to see a lot of sexual tension built around one MC teaching another how to kiss and them falling in love as a result.

I love that this is a sweet romance, with no on-page sex, and I love the initial slow build. Ultimately, however, the story falls short because the slow build devolves into a sprint to the finish in Triple-Crown-race fashion, and I didn’t find the ending nearly as satisfying as I believe it could have been. Not to mention Tony’s sudden turnaround from taciturn to talkative is as unbelievable as his continuing to go on dates set up by a person he didn’t contact and sticking to a dating plan he wasn’t interested in. Again, if we weren't being told Tony's side only from Witt's limited perspective, we wouldn't have had to guess about his motivation as much, and the surprise at the end would only have been Witt's, not ours as well.

I adored this story so much. Witt and Tony are so sweet together. After Witt gets his stuff together that is. It's a short but great read. I definitely recommend it.

This was a sweet story, almost kind of Pygmalion, but not quite. In this version, Witt would be Pygmalion and Tony would be Galeta.

As the owner of Valentine's Inc., Witt takes great pride in finding everyone their perfect match, but Tony has been out on several dates, and he's not happy. So Witt sends him out with his best friend to find out what's happening. Then, Witt realizes what Tony really needs is date coaching, so he'll just have to do it.

I really loved the way that Witt was very patient with Tony. He never told Tony that he was bad or wrong, just modeled the right behavior and explained why it was the right behavior. Tony is intense. I don't think he meant to be a jerk and rude. I think that he had just been alone for so long that he hadn't stopped to think about how he was acting. I like both guys though, and it was a truly sweet story.

Oh, this was so sweet. Tony is not having any luck with his matches from Valentine’s Inc and Witt decides to make him a pet project and goes above and beyond to help Tony get ready for his perfect match and finds out he isn’t always quite as gruff as he comes off.

These two don’t totally hit it off right away but Tony is willing to do the work that Witt suggests and he slowly learns to open up and be a gentleman. I liked that Tony turned it around on Witt in the end when Witt was trying to push him on someone because he couldn’t believe that anyone would want him too.

I received an ARC of this book and am giving an honest review.

I've read most of the books in the Valentine's Inc. series and I have to say this one was the most disappointing. There was absolutely no chemistry between the two MCs. I think the author wanted Tony to come across as gruff but to me he was just incredibly rude with zero manners. For a book about love there was no heat at all. Definitely skip it.

A lighthearted, fun conclusion to the Valentine's Inc stories. It was fun reading the transformation in Tony and the interactions between him and Witt. I enjoyed each and every one of them.
