Lachlan: A Dark Irish Mafia Romance (Dangerous Doms) Kindle Edition

4.6 out of 5 stars 1,519 ratings

Fiona Hurston was too young when we first met.

Too naïve.
Too innocent.
Too tempting.

I vowed to protect her, to keep her safe, and I have, for five long years.
Even when keeping her safe meant keeping my distance.
Even when the greatest threat to her innocence was me.
But Fiona’s not a girl anymore.

When danger’s at her door and we’re forced together, I won’t back down.
I’ll defend her. I
’ll shield her.
I’ll comfort and keep her.
Because Fiona Hurston is all grown up now.
And it’s time she realized... she’s mine.

When author Jane Henry sets off to write a series, readers know that each episodic novel within said series will be as unique and exciting as the last – and perhaps more so. LACHLAN, the fifth in Ms. Henry’s “Dangerous Dom’s” series is not only unique and exciting, it is my absolute favorite of the series. Yes, I know I have said that about each of the standalone novels in the series, but each episode is marvelous, and the world Ms. Henry has created in this “Dangerous Dom’s” series is so vivid, that feeling bereft at the end of each story has become commonplace for me. I miss the green, the brogue, and those alpha men! Those who read the novels in order have heard of both Lachlan and Fiona before, but their story becomes the focus in LACHLAN, and is everything and much more than I’d hoped! With all the feels that romance readers need, along with some laugh-out-loud and tear-inducing bits, LACHLAN by Jane Henry is one romance readers MUST NOT MISS! No dreamier Alpha head of household will one ever find than Lachlan, and no finer woman than the young Fiona could ever be Lachlan’s match. The characters are so well-developed, they and their brogue could walk right off the page, yet without the wit, wiles, and prose of indie author Jane Henry, I’m not convinced that they could have found the strength to withstand all they had to achieve their wonderous HEA. If you have not had the pleasure of reading any of the titles in author Jane Henry’s “Dangerous Dom’s” series, start with LACHLAN, and don’t be surprised if you feel compelled to go back and read the epic tales which preceded it! While each title is episodic in nature with heroes and heroines from the other novels playing a part in every plotline, each novel tells a different part of the clan’s story whilst focusing on one of the couples who make this amazing family so worthy of any reader’s time. I jumped at the opportunity to volunteer to read an early copy of LACHLAN and now submit this as my voluntary 5+STAR review. (It has earned so many more.) Get your copy of LACHLAN today! Happy pages! 😉

Once again we join the McCarthy family at Ballyhock for Lachlan and Fiona’s
story. This book by Jane Henry was addictive.I enjoyed the dynamics between
Lachlan and Fiona.Their relationship was certainly complex. The internal dialogue
of both characters was built amongst a background of danger.Their emotions
were stripped bare at times, leaving them open to heartache.

Fiona thought that she was invisible to Lachlan. She had loved him from the time
he had rescued her from the hovel she called home.Fiona had never really given
up on having a relationship with Lachlan. She knew that she would need to be
patient, but it was not in her nature. When Lachlan realized the danger that Fiona
was in, he finally accepted that she would be his.He would follow the clan tradition
    and claim her.

What a man Lachlan had become.Admired by his fellow clan members, and feared
by his enemies. I felt sorry for Fiona as she built a wall around her heart .She never
felt good enough for Lachlan. She struggled with the concept of living with a Mafia
family. She was left floundering with no anchor.Fiona had a feisty side and would
challenge Lachlan just to get a reaction. She got much more than she bargained for
when he took his belt off.

This book made me sigh with pure bliss. It had a exciting build up with good character
development. What set this book apart was the way Lachlan and Fiona’s relationship
evolved overtime. The pivotal moment came when they both stopped fighting their
feelings for one another. The love between them was so obvious ,but how they both
struggled.I’m already impatiently waiting for the chapter in this wonderful series.

This was a very entertaining read and I am sad to be at the end of it so fast.

I recommend this read, this author, and this series.

We have received snippets of Fiona and Lachlan in other books. We knew that Fiona loved Lachlan from afar, but Lachlan saw Fiona as a girl. This book begins with her turning 18, and she is no longer a girl. Through a series of events Lachlan and Fiona are brought together in Boston as danger surrounds them. The action and storyline made this a page turner, and hard to put down. It had everything a reader wants – suspense, love, angst, danger and a fiery red head.

As with all the men in the Clan, Lachlan is domineering and expects Fiona to fall in line. He loves her sassy attitude, but there is a time and place for it…and consequences. Fiona learns and understands these rules over time as danger unfolds. They learn to fully love, appreciate and respect the strengths of each other throughout the book. It was a great story!

I have liked all the others better than this one. Too much just didn't make any sense. It felt like a lot of time and thought went into unimportant parts, and no explanation or details when it came to the important parts.

This is a pretty good story although some parts are a bit mixed up... I think this couple are a bit teenaged with shades of adults for much of the story. One excellent part of this story is that they travel to Boston which adds another layer of adventure. I kinda wanted them to stay there but obviously this story had to have them returning home so she could solve the guard issues... plus the explosion and getting shot where additional Action for the story.

    I loved this story.
Fiona and Lachlan met when she was 13 far too young for Lachlan to do anything but he's looked out for her, when she comes of age there is no stopping him.
Great storyline I enjoyed the twist and turns.

This book is about Lachlan and Fiona. They have wanted each other for years without saying so but secretly knowing. Fiona was too young. Once she became of age she moved to Boston to go to school but then her life was in danger so Lachlan came to her rescue and feelings could no longer be ignored.
