About the author

A prolific writer of humor and engaging mysteries, W.H. Matlack has written many short stories, plays, Children's books, and graphic novels/stories (OK, comic books of which seven have been published). He now focuses on writing full-length novels. Among them are: "Noir Town," "Waiting to Run," "The Memory Walker," "Dronefire," and "Grin of the Krocodle." He has completed a sixth novel, "The Lazarus," which is scheduled for publishing in 2020.
He lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife and cat. When asked what he does for a living, he replies that he "writes books." When pressed for more detail he might say, "I think of myself as being a direct descendant of the primitive story teller. A hairy, skinny, stinky guy whom everyone would turn to after a day of hunting, cooking over an open fire and gorging themselves on greasy meat and say, 'Tell us a story, and we'll let you live another day.'"

- Reviewed in the United States on September 4, 2021An engaging mystery with murders, hidden treasure and unique characters set in America's most exciting and scenic city. A private eye with a close friendship with a high ranking SFPD officer becomes involved in a historical, international crime with roots in China, Taiwan and Africa. I recommend it.
