This guide for usage of Twitter was clear, simple, and easy to understand. Included is a great glossary and list of resources for more information. How to start using twitter and updated is made easy to understand in easy to read matter, I'm not a techie. The 10 short assignments work as a fast motivational clean up of an existing designed, which I did. Now I understand how and why to retweet, and look for meaning friends and resources sites. Twitter is now simpler for me to use. Give the book and lessons a try!

I picked this book up too late in my twitter newbie-ness for it to help me directly. I give it four stars because it's the kind of book I wish I'd read before I got started. It would've shortened my learning curve immensely.

    So....

If you're flirting with the idea of using twitter for business or fun, and want to jump in and swim the waters of twitter, this is for you.

If you're already signed up, but are still spanking new to twitter, you'll pick up a few tips. The book is priced low, so go for it.

If you're a seasoned twitterer, well you wouldn't be looking at a book with this title anyway, so it's a moot point.

When I first started out on Twitter, I really didn't see the point. All my friends were on Facebook, so how was this going to work for me? I learned through experience, but you can get a better head start by reading this book. It's very clear and conversational which is perfect for new users. I will look for the second book since I am interested in digging a little deeper into how Twitter works.

This eBook with its simplicity - and its practicality - is its strength. It is an excellent how-to guide for Twitter newbies, or those who use Twitter but don't quite "get" it. I believe Chapter 6 is the best one. It gives specific, great tips for what the heck to tweet. Chapter 7 was very helpful with ideas for what to tweet (by following other authors, speakers, etc. and reading their tweets). Chapter 8 was excellent about what NOT to do on Twitter. Love the questions in Chapter 9 that make you really think about Twitter and how it can work for you and your biz. Includes great links/resources. Overall I really liked this guide. It is to the point (like Twitter!), very practical and helpful.

For most people Twitter is not known quite as well as Facebook, and it's power is not so obvious.
However, in this book, Ruth gives lots of very useful tips particularly on the setup with the importance of getting it right.
Although it is very useful for beginners, there are some excellent points made if you are already on Twitter

It's not what I expected, but it turned out to be a good book, anyway. I thought I already knew the basics of Twitter, but I ended up learning a few things! And I am going to buy her intermediate level book, because her basic book is layed out to be easily understood, with exercises and steps to follow that will take the techno-challenged easily into the world of Twitter. I am one of the techno-challenged, and I will need her continued help!

I am so grateful for this book. I have been fearful of Twitter and creating "footprints in concrete." Now I have the confidence to give it a go. Thank you. Looking forward to your next book in this series.

Great orientation for writers who'd like to get started on Twitter, with practical, step-by-step instructions complete with screenshots for visual learners. Brief and helpful, with a glossary and list of resources. Volume 2 will be Learn Twitter: 10 Intermediate Steps. I downloaded my copy during a free promo, and my one negative thought is that I wouldn't want to pay more than $2 for a book this length.
