Leif's Serenity (Brigs Ferry Bay, Book 4) Kindle Edition
Leif
The world knows me as Leif in Wanderlust, travel blogger.
Through the lens of my camera, I take my followers along as I vacation in some of the most beautiful places all over the world.
Sure, it can get lonely, but I’m literally living everyone’s best life and loving every second of it.
Until I’m hired for a job in Brigs Ferry Bay, Maine, where I meet a local diner owner, Fernando.
One steamy night together turns into two, and two… turns into a week of bliss.
Our instant connection leaves me questioning my motives for why I do what I do.
Am I replacing meaningful relationships with the approval of strangers?
And why can’t I get Fernando out of my head?
Fernando
Tourist season in Brigs Ferry Bay is the best season when your number one rule is to not sleep with the locals.
Small towns get six degrees of incestuous if you’re not careful.
So when a sexy travel blogger with a nerdy vibe struts into my diner, I call dibs.
He’s the perfect distraction from the dumpster fire that is my life right now, since Pops was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.
I didn’t expect to actually like the guy or miss him after he went on his way.
But I do, and I can’t stop the intrusive thoughts telling me what we have is more than lust.
Now my biggest problem is convincing a wanderer to stay in one place with me.
I’m the cat, he’s the mouse.
Game on.

Basic concept: Leif, a travel blogger with millions of followers, arrives at Brigs Ferry Bay after being hired to promote the town's local hotel by its owner, Dante. After checking in, he decides to stroll around the small coastal town and becomes hungry. Entering a plain looking restaurant, he's immediately drawn to his server, Fernando, who is currently running the diner while his parents deal with his father's early onset Alzheimer's.
What follows is a variable stream of multiple plotlines that, while carefully constructed, become a tad confusing. One in particular is just to set up a sequel for Ricky, Fernando's youngest brother.
There's plenty of heat, misunderstandings and terrific secondary characters, particularly Kian, one of Fernando's best friends. The world-building for the dinner is great, but mediocre for the rest of the book.
The ending of this book I could see from 15 chapters away, which was a huge letdown. Also, numerous flagrant editing errors interrupted the readability. While the book's concept was genuine, its execution was only fair. And when two grown men think having sex in a woman's public restroom is "hot," I think it's time they seek professional guidance.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 26, 2021Format: KindleVerified PurchaseTwo men, too different upbringings but two men who when they meet the chemistry is undeniable.
Leif Olsen is a man who always wanted more, telling his family who he was it was not what he thought would happen but when you are forced to change the course of your life you make it work and hope everything works out.
Fernando Lopez is a man who will do whatever it takes to keep his family happy , but doing that keeps his own happiness at bay that is until he meets Leif and everything changes in an instance.
Leif travels for a living and Fernando lives in his small town running the family diner, but can they come together and find a happy middle ground where the two of them can find happiness together or are things to far out of reach. You can’t help finding yourself cheering on these two incredible men too find their HEA.

This book was night and day compared to Misty last book she wrote in this series. Kian's Focus was a big miss for me. The main focus wasn’t on the main characters this that book.
This book was way better. The focus was definitely on Leif and Fernando. The build up between these two men was on point. It was really hot! I loved it.
But, there was something holding me back from really loving this book. Even though this book did focus on Leif and Fernando. I felt there was soooo much family stuff getting in the way. I mean... it kind of dragged. I wished there wasn’t so much going on. I wished it was only Leif’s family drama.
Fernando’s problem’s unfortunately was a bit much for me. And it just felt like it was one thing after another... mom, dad, brother, diner. It was hard to move past.
I didn’t hate this book. But, I didn’t love it either. I love the characters in this series... and I want to continue on with it. But I gotta admit... I’m kinda shocked Ricky’s book is next. I thought for sure it would’ve been Zac or Carmac. Since we know more about them. Ricky... literally just popped up in this book. But, we’ll see how it goes.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 4, 2021Format: KindleVerified PurchaseLeif comes out as gay to his parents and their immediate reaction is to kick him out. He soon finds himself with nowhere to go but always wanting to travel he begins to just drive.
In no time Leif becomes a successful travel blogger and it is during a trip he ends up in Brigs Ferry Bay and meets Fernando.
Fernando has continued running his family’s diner after his dad begins deteriorating from alzheimers. He isn't looking for anything serious but soon comes to realize that Leif means much more to him than expected.
Leif and Fernando run head-on into their "just for fun" relationship but in turn help each other through some tough family struggles making them closer by the end.
You can always expect some heartache, heat, and fun with a Misty Walker book and this did not disappoint.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 12, 2022Format: KindleVerified PurchaseLoved this story. I was excited to get Fernando’s story after seeing him so much in the previous stories. He is a great friend and always there for those he cares about loved meeting Leif. They balance one another out with Leif’s wanderlust and Fernando’s roots. Loved the instant chemistry. And although this story doesn’t have as much dangerous angst or drama like Jax’s story or callans. There was no short supply of drama filled issues. Like the progressive state of Fernando’s dads Alzheimer’s. Then the issues between Leif’s job and wanderlust and Fernando’s roots. Then there was Leif’s horrible family. Wow that was horrible. I hope he get a relationship with Kenny. Then the possibility of losing the dinner. Wow just more reasons to hate Ned and the mayor. He need to be voted out. He is a horrible human. Loved how Leif and the town rallied. So awesome. Can’t wait for Ricky’s story. I think it will be an enemies to lovers possible old teacher student relationship based on the dynamic and attitude flung Ricky’s way by the teacher. Then I hope we get zak and obviously Toby’s story since his little novella. Wow drama. Can’t wait for more.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 28, 2021Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis book met all my expectations and then some! I cannot say this enough but I love Briggs Ferry Bay and the citizens that keep the small town running. Leif and Fernando's story was a bumpy one, with Leif traveling and leaving and Fernando throwing up his walls every other minute. But eventually their worlds synced up and they found a happily ever after in the small town. I highly recommend this book and the whole series!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great read
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI love this series and this is yet another good one. Leif and Fernando have very different upbringing's but both have family issues (very different also). They have such wonderful, instant chemistry and I adore them together. Great read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fab addition to BFB world!
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseOhhh my heart! Loved these two!
Poor Fernando! Goodness i felt the weight on his shoulders. Such a good genuine guy! I felt desperately sorry for him. I wanted to get in there and help in some way. So thank goodness for Leif! The scenes with him were when you saw the real Fernando. He bloomed as soon as Leif was near. You saw him be himself, the young man who should be starting his life carefree and full of life ready to live, not the responsible man weighed down by responsibilities. I adored him all ways he came though. How could you not?!
Leif i also felt for. My heart broke for him. So long on his own i fully understood his choices. I understood his need to push people away so he didn't get hurt again. But on the flip side, again when he was with Fernando he was free. It brought out his need for roots. He hadn't had those for so long and you could see the yearning he had for a family. Fernando was home for him.
I wanted to hug them both so much. I loved the storyline because although they had so many obsticles to get through they fought together. I loved that! I mean of course sometimes they made wrong choices but they always realised their mistake and then they'd try again. It was a real battle to get each other but with Fernando's strength and dependability and Leif's can do attitude they overcome it all.
I couldn't put this down. I just love this series! The teaser for young Ricky at the end has me eager for his story! Bring on more more more BFB!

5.0 out of 5 stars Emotional
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis is a great read, full of emotions. I felt so sorry for Leif about how his parents reacted to him coming out. To think that these kind of people exist in real life is upsetting.

4.0 out of 5 stars THIS SERIES!!!
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI get nervous reading a series after loving the first book because I never want to be let down, that’s not a worry with these books. They’re all fantastic.
So firstly, lets just talk about Leif... as a mama to a little boy (and ya know, just a decent human) I was furious with his parents for their reaction to him being gay, but I felt immediately proud of him. He held his head high, said this is who I am, and went on his way, even though it was scary and unknown.
Then, Fernando, what a dreamboat. He, for me, was the sexiest of the Brigs Ferry Bay men so far. I love him. Sexy, caring, loyal, driven, and not afraid to put himself out there.
The chemistry was off the charts from the second these two met and they didn’t mess around. They knew what they wanted and went for it.
The characters and their romance developed so beautifully, the bumps in the road were believable and for a time, I genuinely thought the happy ending as I wanted may not come, because their separate paths were completely valid. I got it, I wasn’t sure there was a way. But yet again, Misty Walker wrote the perfect story, the perfect chemistry, the perfect spice, the perfect side characters and the perfect ‘ending’ ... I want more, I need more...
