Like Psychics and Dragons (It’s a Psychic World Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.1 out of 5 stars 232 ratings

Lindsey and Jerome get along like cats and dogs.

Lindsey sees ghosts. They make his life complicated, because most don’t take no for an answer, which is why he just got fired again. His only way to find a steady job is to work for someone who wants him to talk to ghosts, which is why he applies for a job at a PI agency. The problem is that he hates one of the PIs, and the man hates him.

Jerome wouldn’t say he hates Lindsey. He strongly dislikes him, and he has no intention of working with him. The only reason his partner convinced him to give this a try is that they’re stuck trying to solve the last case they were hired for, and they need results.

But those results aren’t what they expect. Lindsey isn’t what they expect, and when Jerome and Lindsey find themselves investigating a murder and getting shot at, Jerome will have to choose—can he trust Lindsey, or will his irrational hatred of humans doom both of them to death?

Catherine is the creator of several series, most of them paranormal, including the Whitedell Pride Series and the Gillham Pack Series. While she graduated in translation, she decided to go the writer’s way because it was more fun to create her own stories and characters.

She’s been living in Italy for more than twenty years, but she’s a daughter of the North—Belgium to be precise—and she misses it so much that she’s already planning to move back.

She loves pizza—probably too much —her pets, and of course, books. She sneaks some reading time in her schedule every time she has five minutes free from writing, demands from her various pets and son, and lastly, housework.

M/M, new relationship, Explicit. This book is about half romance and half mystery, and it's a good blend. The romance is fairly slow burn. The UST can be cut with a knife. Hearing the characters' thoughts as the nature of their relationship changes is interesting. The mystery is also well done. I like Lindsay's power and how it helps with the case. A great read.

I just love enemies to lovers especially when one of them can see ghosts and the other one is a dragon shifter. I enjoyed the story and it held my attention without dragging. I would have liked for the two main characters to verbalize their feelings for each other more often, but other than that, I found the plot to be quite compelling. I didn't enjoy the conclusion of the book much, but it does leave me looking forward to the next book.

This was a good story and intriguing if it wasn't the repetitive information the author fed her readers. Lindsey sees ghosts and Jerome is a dragon. They fight constantly, as we know hate is the flip side of love and the two struggle to form a relationship. The need to repeat information, however, pawls the drama and suspense quickly. The fighting is childish at times and also repetitive. I'm surprised Lindsey and Jerome didn't stick their tongues out at each other it got so childish. The author grabbed me though with the ending of the story and now I am pressed to read the next one. I just hope the author takes her readers criticism and pulls the story together and tightens everything up without the constant repeats.

The book has great characters, and the dialog is just the right mix of snark and fun banter
I can't wait for the next book in the series

Within this book you have two men, one whom can not only speak to the deceased but can also see them. Then there's Jerome, a man who's a bit strong willed, but also rather stubborn, clearly set within his ways. The pair had met once before, a few years back, Lindsey had come to Jerome's company looking to be hired. Barely giving the man a chance, Jerome's attitude towards him sends Lindsey on his way. This time around, things are different. Lindsey seems to be more sure of himself. Eager to prove just who he is and how much of a help he can be. With Jerome's help, they work together on a case that involves a recent murdered young soul. Soon finding that the path that they thought would be so easy and quick to take. Has a lot more dark twists and turns then they could ever imagine. Making both men wonder if they'll even be able to get out of this with their own lives in tact.

This story is a fantastic first look into this series. I truly can not wait to see what's instore for us within the next book!

I feel bad leaving such a low rated review when a book is actually well edited, but the flow was off. Most of the book was the story being summarized in the character's heads, instead of through dialogue. The worst part of that is the fact that the same info was being given over and over and over. Also, i am not sure why Jerome and Lindsey are a couple or how they fell in love. There was way too much animosity and fighting, it was very childish. No matter how much your feelings are hurt, it seems illogical for Lindsey to continue to fight and deliberately push Jerome's buttons when he is trying to get a job he so desperately needs. When they were in hiding, they hooked up, which can be understandable when you are filled with adrenalin and there is so much emotion, but that doesn't explain how they fell in love. Especially because the time frame was only a hand full of days. The only insight we get into that is Lindsey thinking in his head that he only wants to be with a person he fights with, that Jerome is sweet and protective for saving him one day, and that is about it. So I can't recommend this. It was hard to read, makes no sense, and a waste of my money. I had to fight to finish it.

Jerome’s a jerk & Lyndsey is a brat. Can they work together to find a missing YA?!?

Jerome is a human hating, dragon shifter PI, Lyndsey is a Jerome disliking, human psychic. Previously Jerome dashed Lyndsey’s dream of using his abilities to support himself & his family and now Jerome has to work with him when he can’t locate the young man who’s family hired him after he goes missing after leaving a club w/friends.

This is a continuing series, apparently, since it ends w/a huge cliffhanger & not exactly a HEA for Jerome & Lyndsey. I’m fully invested in the characters & story and can’t wait for book 2. Thinking I’m gonna love this new series

This could have been an amazing book, sadly it was not! The characters are not likeable which makes it hard to connect. The story line was stilted and the writing not up to standard.

Decent read, a little overbearing but still a ok read when you have nothing else to read.
