Mark Dawson’s Group Fifteen Files. Quick, lightning-paced, action from the first page to the last.

Bjorn Thorsson joined the Special Air Service to forget the horrors of his childhood. He killed for Queen and country, and he was good at it.

He quits the army and settles down, looking for a quieter life. When his beautiful sister Gudrun finds herself in trouble with the owner of a hedge fund, Bjorn promises to get her out of danger. But there’s another factor in play. Group 15, a clandestine government agency, has plans for the financier, and Bjorn is in their way.

Bjorn must outwit the Group in the streets of London and in the Highlands of Scotland if he is to protect his sister and survive.

Another winning novella from Mark Dawson with Michael Ridpath in which we are introduced to a new hero, Björn Thorsson, a giant who would make his Viking ancestors proud. This exciting story is moored to Group 15, but it also includes operatives from other departments of the Firm. This story includes family drama as well as the most hubristic of hedge fund managers and it is great that Michael Pope makes an appearance.
This is an ideal companion for a cross-country flight or a rainy day. The action is non stop and it is a hard book to put down. For readers new to Mark Dawson, this novella makes for a delightful introduction to a wide range of books that have unique leading characters that interweave with each other from time to time which creates a delightful fabric to the stories.

An angry big brother is a thing to be feared, especially if that big brother is Björn Thorsson. In Little Sister, Mark Dawson collaborates with Michael Ridpath in grand, Group 15 style for another fast-paced, in-your-face, wild ride. The latest in Mark Dawson’s Group 15 novellas, Little Sister introduces Björn Thorsson who turns out to be everything his Norse heritage suggests and more. True to Mark Dawson and Group 15 style, Björn gets the job done and establishes himself as a Group 15 agent we all hope to see in action again. Little Sister is an entertaining, quick read and solid as a stand-alone adventure into the world of Mark Dawson’s Group 15. Little Sister and the other Group 15 novellas are a great starter course. If you’re looking for a five-star meal of the same flavor, it’s well worth a wander over to Mark Dawson’s full-length John Milton, Beatrix and Isabella Rose novels.

Mark Dawson has come up with an excellent new character to round out his “Group Fifteen” novels. Bjorn Thorsson is in his early thirties, attending masters courses at University College London after 8 years in the British army serving in the elite SAS forces. He is suddenly informed that his younger sister may be in serious trouble with a wealthy individual. This starts a cycle of trying to help his sister, who does not listen, then is murdered. Pity the murderer, Bjorn is not a forgiving person. This is a good, exciting introduction of a new character for Dawson’s Group 15 series. All of Dawson’s books are fun to read, well written and full of action.

I've read all of Mr. Dawson's books and continue to be amazed that there is never a letdown. Next up "Little Sister." Only one thing is for sure when someone messes with an ex-SAS' sister...someone is going to die. Enter Bjorn Thorsson, ex-SAS soldier now quietly teaching at a college while pursuing a degree. The quiet abruptly ends when Bjorn's Little Sister falls in with the wrong crowd. Well...you know what happens next...bad things happen to bad people. In the middle of the action, Bjorn comes up on Group 15's radar. These Group 15 Novellas are crammed with action and never disappoint. Little Sister is no exception.

I love Mark Dawson's characters... all of them! They are perfectly flawed and amazing. The only problem with his writing, as you will see echoed in many other reviews, is that, once started, you can't put it down! I have lost many nights of sleep because I lost all track of time while reading. Just as good as his wonderful characters and amazing plots, is the writer himself! He answers emails and is grateful to every one of us out there. He deserves every success - you keep writing them and I will keep reading and recommending them!!

"Little Sister," the latest Group 15 novella, introduces readers to Bjorn Thorsson, a former SAS operative, and unfolds a gripping tale of vengeance, intrigue, and covert operations. After his sister, Gudrun, is murdered for suspecting her boyfriend, hedge fund manager Finlay Karsh, of a heinous crime, Bjorn is consumed by the need for retribution. The narrative takes a complex turn as Karsh's unexpected significance to the British government brings Group 15 into play, tasked with protecting him against an imminent assassination threat.

Set against the dramatic backdrop of a Scottish castle, the story masterfully weaves together the paths of three assassins hidden in the surrounding woods: one aiming to eliminate Karsh, another targeting the first assassin, and Bjorn, driven by personal vendetta. The ensuing cat-and-mouse game is thrilling, with strategic maneuvering and suspense that keeps readers on the edge of their seats.

This first time collaboration of Michael Ridpath with Mark Dawson is a gem. It is a fast paced, well considered novella full of intrigue and suspense. The relationships between the characters are an unusual mix of sorting out truth from dross, loyalties finally realised and new terrains to tread. The characters are daring and adventurous in the choices they know they need to make.

Calm and measured Bjorn Thorsson spends his days teaching and working on his masters degree, a far cry from the 6.4ft Icelanders time in the SAS. But when he gets word his younger sister is in trouble mixed up with an owner of a hedge fund and some truly dodgy dealings he sets out to rescue her and bring about his own form of justice, the problem is this brings him into direct conflict with Group 15 who for their own reasons want the hedge fund owner very much alive....soon the action spills out from London to the Highlands of Scotland as an immovable object meets an irresistible force and this time Group 15 might of bitten off more than they can chew. Atmospheric, well paced with interesting characters the story moves along to an action packed satisfying conclusion. I really really hope that we see more of Bjorn Thorsson, who is a wonderful new character.

Another novella from Group 15's more recent past. We get a better look at how the Group works, from giving out assignments to recruiting new operatives. Guilt over a dead sister changes Bjorn life in a major way. As Bjorn seeks his revenge, he finds himself in the crosshairs of Group 15. Blood and death results. Very enjoyable story, with an appearance of one of my favorite character, Pope. Looking forward to more tales from Group 15.
