Cheska Harlow-Wright was born into a life of luxury and privilege. She has never wanted for anything. A comfortable future as a married London socialite ⁣
awaits her. But since the age of thirteen, Cheska has harboured a secret—an unshakeable fixation on a boy who could never offer her anything close to ⁣comfort. A boy steeped in sin and draped in depravity. A boy born into the possessive embrace of darkness. ⁣

When Cheska’s seemingly perfect world is ripped apart by an unknown but deadly enemy, there’s only one person she can run to. One person in the world ⁣who has the power to keep her safe. The one person her weak and shattered heart craves. ⁣

Arthur Adley. The new head of the most feared crime family in London. ⁣

Forced too young to take the helm of the Adley firm, Arthur has become even more ruthless, formidable, and cold than ever before. His enemies are circling, and he must fight—and kill—to maintain his family’s place at the top of the London crime underworld. There is no room for weakness, emotion, or loss of control.⁣

But then Cheska smashes back into his life with the force of a wrecking ball. She has no place in this dark, vicious, and bloodthirsty world. And worse, she is the solitary chink in his impenetrable armour. He’s already pushed her away once, but this time she desperately needs him. She’s broken, lost, and in danger, and he is the only one who can help.⁣

Arthur must protect her. He must destroy those who dare to threaten her, hunt down those who would take what is his. He would raze all of London to the ⁣ground to keep her safe… but can he also protect himself?⁣

The infamous Dark Lord of London Town faces his most brutal battle yet—the crippling weight of the past, the unrelenting enemies lurking in the shadows… and the havoc that Cheska’s presence is wreaking on the granite fortress that was once his heart.⁣

Tillie Cole is a Northern girl through and through. She originates from a place called Teesside on that little but awesomely sunny (okay I exaggerate) Isle called Great Britain. She was brought up surrounded by her mother -- a farmer's daughter, her crazy Scottish father, a savagely sarcastic sister and a multitude of rescue animals and horses.

Being a scary blend of Scottish and English, Tillie embraces both cultures; her English heritage through her love of HP sauce and freshly made Yorkshire Puddings, and her Scottish, which is mostly demonstrated by her frighteningly foul-mouthed episodes of pure rage and her much loved dirty jokes.

Having been born and raised as a Teesside Smoggie, Tillie, at age nineteen, moved thirty miles north to the 'Toon', Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, where she attended University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts honours degree in Religious Studies. She returned two years later to complete a Post-Graduate Certificate in Teaching High School Social Studies. She regards Newcastle to be a home from home and enjoyed the Newcastle Geordie way of life for seven 'proper mint', 'lush' years.

Tillie, from a very young age has been part of the theatre community and loves nothing more than to entertain through the mediums of cheerleading, dance, drama and singing (sometimes in the rain). She can also be found in nightclubs around the world imitating her favourite artists alongside her crazy BFF’s - The Teesside Massive - or, sat on the front row at the theatre bopping along to her favourite musical, ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show ’, clad in a only a maids outfit, clutching a bag of rice and sporting a vibrant shade of red lipstick.

One summers day, after finishing reading her thousandth book on Kindle, Tillie turned to her husband and declared, "D'you know, I have a great idea for a story. I could write a book." Several months later, repeating the same tired line, she was scolded by her husband to shut up talking about writing a novel and 'just bloody do it!' Immediately she set off on a crazy journey, delving deep into her fertile imagination. Tillie, ever since, has written from the heart. She combines her passion for anything camp and glittery with her love of humour and dark brooding men (most often muscled and tattooed – they’re her weakness!).

After years of teaching high school Social Studies and following her Professional Rugby Player husband around Europe, they have settled in Calgary, Alberta where Tillie spends most of her days (and many a late night) lost in a writing euphoria or in her dream of pursuing a dazzling career as a barrel-racing, tasselled-chap, Stetson-wearing cowgirl... Ye-haw!

| Lord of London Town • “Cheska, if you think my cousin doesn’t love you—obsessively, possessively, and somewhat wickedly …” She smirked. “Then you’re not as smart as your many degrees from Oxford would have us believe.” LAAAAWWWWD HAVE MERCY!!!! Arthur Adley hit me in the face like a meatball sandwich when I've been starving for days. I've always known my addiction to "morally gray" bad boys was concerning but after LoLT is it healthy to love a Cockney Gangster leader? Will this review make sense? Probably not. Lord of London Town follows Arthur Adley, son to the Adley dynasty and the family all of London fears. Cross them wrong and your last words will be "gurgle gurgle" as Arthur slits your throat. Arthur and his band of misfits gave me Peaky Blinder feels and I. AM. HERE. FOR . IT. Makes you just want to walk down a dark alley in London and see what happens. (jk dont do that) Arthur comes across Cheska when he's 13 years old and their obsession with each other spans overtime and only grows. From 5 years of stolen moments to full blown consuming love I was obsessed with this dark royalty. I want to ruin you. Arthur brought a whole new meaning to " I would kill for you." I loved it all. The action. the romance. The dark London vibes. I feel bad for all my books to follow. my Arthur was a mix of Tommy from Peaky Blinders and Taron Egerton ❤️ Trigger warnings: so much gore, language, sex trafficking, sexual assault, sexy British BA**es Song- Fall Apart Post Malone rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫/5 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥/5 Full review on goodreads

Dark, gritty, twisty, love and family. These are the words I would use to describe this amazing book by Tillie Cole. I have always been a huge Tillie Cole fan because she has a unique way of giving you something so dark and making you find the love and light in the dark. This story is no different. This has been one of my favorite reads of 2020.

This story follows Arthur and Cheska. Two people from different sides of good and bad. Or so they believed. Arthur is the son of London’s biggest crime family. The Adley firm will one day be his. When he is 13 he makes his first kill and that same day his mother and sister are killed when their cottage burns down. It leaves just Arthur and Alfie. The both shut down their emotions and the darkness overtakes them. That’s when his path first cross with Cheska. She is not someone he should be interested in but they share something in common. The loss of their mothers. Neither anticipated their paths to cross again but that’s not what life has in store for them.

At 18 their paths cross once again. They have both grown up. Arthur has grown up even more in darkness and Cheska is following a path laid out for her by her father. But she has not stopped thinking of Arthur from the moment they met. Now their both on vacation at the same same place and Cheska can’t help but drawn to him. But when she is need of saving Arthur is her dark knight to the rescue. She sees his dark side and instead of being scared she is in aw of what he can accomplish. When their time together is done she leaves. But she leaves him with her number and hopes he will contact her again.

That meeting leads to their next 5 years together in secret he shows up to her place in Oxford once a week. She knows she loves him and she knows she should not. She knows he will never give her what she wants but she can hope.

But then Arthurs world changes again. Him and his brothers are forced to take on the Adley Firm sooner then expected. He goes to Cheska one last time before he lets the darkness consume him. With his brothers and sisters they take on revenge.

13 months later is when she comes crashing into his life again. Her world is shattered and she knows the only one who can protect her is Arthur. She needs her dark Knight to save her.

The Adley Firm is now in control of Arthur who is consumed by darkness but with his dark queen by his side he is now smarter then ever. More dangerous then ever.

Arthur never believed he could have Cheska in his life or his family. She has seen things that has made the darkness bleed into her red. Arthur tries to scare her away by showing her again the darkened in him but she is stronger then he thought. Her love for him is stronger then anything.

The story has an ending, but with so many players in the Adley Firm there is sure to be more to come. And I for one can not wait to see what more dark and twisty the lovely Tillie Cole has in store for us.

I received and ARC in exchange for an honest review.

    >Book Review – Lord of London Town
    >I am an independent reviewer. This book is the 1st in the Lord of London Town series and ends with an HEA for the main characters, but the plot continues. This story is very violent. The backstory of Arthur, the boy who is the heir apparent to the London mob, is one of suppressed emotion and death. Arthur meets high class Cheska when they are both 13 and she never leaves his mind. Sheska is just as enamored as Arthur, but very sheltered. The story has Arthur and Cheska crossing paths throughout the years. Arthur actually turns even more violent when Cheska has to get engaged to a friend of her father.
    >The story never mentions Arthur having any kind of physical relationship with anyone, save Cheska. I would have liked to have Cheska be a bit jealous over one of Arthur’s exs. The secondary characters really make the story come alive. Arthur’s gang is bloodthirsty and funny. Vinnie, especially, is great as a psycho/psychic. Watching Arthur come to terms with having feelings was a great part of the story.
    >This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving this book 4 stars. The danger to Cheska was really dangerous and kept the story exciting. The possessiveness of Arthur was awesome.

I'm ending 2023 on a great book. Lord of London Town has strong 1920's gangster vibes, but set in current day with cell phones, internet, gps tracking, etc. You forget that when you're reading, though. When someone would pull out a phone, it would hit me that the world head was a hybrid with the aesthetic of the early American gangsters, but the advantages of technology. The MMC and MFC were well developed and I stepped into their world. The skilled writing enabled me to live Cheska's life vicariously through her story and understand the humanity hidden within Arthur and his family of misfits.

I was immersed and loved the experience.

@authortilliecole earned my devotion with A Thousand Boy Kisses. I am not a crier, but I bawled my eyes out reading that one. I will absolutely be reading A Thousand Broken Pieces when it releases this summer. She captured me again with Lord of London Town, which checked a lot of very important boxes for me. So many dark romances tend to be heavy "spice" and feel like smut, which if you're into, great, it's just not me. This book is more storyline than spice. Don't get me wrong, there is spice, but it's written into the story rather than taking over the story. The scenes work well to progress the storyline; they aren’t gratuitous sex scenes without purpose. It is truly artistic.

This book made me reflect on relationships in my past. Some relationships are kept at such a surface level for years on end, never exploring the potential for both to blossom and grow as a result of something deeper. It can take something huge to bring one or both of you to the realization that this could be more, but it's only meant to be if the other person feels the same way. And often that is the hardest battle you fight – getting on the same page. Once you are, you can take on the world. That's what Cheska and Arthur did. They found each other, discovered after far too long what they truly were to each other, and once they embraced that they were able to take on anything that came at them.

This book pulled me in and didn't let me go. I thought about the characters when I was away from my book, and connected with them throughout their development. It was a great read and I would LOVE there to be a follow up... please, @authortilliecole !!

    Respectfully,

    A Never- Crier (Courtney)

This book won me over in a way that is the second time I've read it and I want more. Already saying that I want to read the other books because I want so much more from the other characters who are amazing. Arthur and Cheska are a couple full of family traumas, but together they managed to overcome barriers and have a true and charming relationship. Arthur for me is the cutest and roughest lord at the same time. Betsy and Eric have a funny and challenging relationship where they both have strong personalities and it was fun. I want their book too. I look forward to Pearl's book to see more of Arthur and Cheska, and Vinnie who I know has great potential, he's really good.

Tillie is to be congratulated on this wonderful book. Really loved it! One of my favorites.

What a great read. This is my first book by Tillie Cole, and all I can say is hook, line and sink. This story had everything from romance, to suspense, action, blood and gore to heartbreaking emotional moments. While I was impressed with the 2 main characters development, you also got to see more of the side characters and their story. It was all woven well together. There have been times when I read a book and I can predict what happens next. The major plot twist took me by surprise. When reading I did not even consider the possibility of the plot twist as the author does a good job of keeping you on your fingers (page turner) 😉 If you are a fan of the Peaky Blinders TV Show and want a reader version, then this is it.

    So ... I don't even know where to start .. !

Tillie, if my rewiew ever comes to you one day, know this : you blew me away with this story !

The love between Arthur and Cheska is powerful. The fact that they knew each other for so many years is awesome and of course, the bad boy who fallen for the good girl is always in my opinion something trully beautiful. What I love the most about Cheska is that she never ever tried to change Arthur, to try to tell him that he can be an other man, that he can change his life ..
From the begining, she loved him for what he was. And that is something I adore because in other books, sometime, the man character changes a little by love. But not arthur and Cheska didn't change either, she just accept her dark side ..
Now, I can't wait to read the stories of the others ! Seriously, between Eric and Betsey, Vinny and Pearl and Charly and Gene ....... !!!! Oh my god, this will be very long to wait til book 2 !!
So congrats for this one, it's now my second fav ! My first will always be Flame and Maddy 💙

Ever read a book and know that it's going to be amazing from the prologue? That was this book!! Arthur Adley captured my heart with very few words and it was all too easy to see why Cheska was fascinated with him.

If I'd never watched Peaky Blinders before, I'd probably never make the comparison, but Arthur and his family, the Adley Firm, reminded me a lot of a modernized version of the Shelbys.

That cool, badass vibe. That ruthless brutality. That honor and respect. That family love. I breathed it, lived it, loved it!

Arthur and Cheska meet when they're 13 years old. She's the daughter of a 'proper' gentleman, raised among the elite, while he is the son of a 'gangster', raised in the streets. She's all about tea and biscuits, balls and galas. He's busy learning the ropes of the business, fighting and shooting his way across the city. They couldn't be more different and yet... they're perfect for each other.

Years pass by, connections grow stronger, and despite the odds. these two became inseparable and indestructible. Unfortunately, the road to their happy ending was paved with blood and betrayal. There's a secret player in town, bent on destroying all of them, and until they figure out who to take out, no one is safe. Good thing Arthur thrives in chaos and wears that crown with pride.

He's a beast. An unbreakable force and someone no one wants to mess with. At least no one who wants to be seen as smart. And Cheska was the dark, broken queen to the dark, broken king. Gah, I loved these two so much!!

I've been intentionally vague with the details of this story. It's something you have to read and I'm not spoiling a dang thing for you. Seriously, there's a reason that Tillie Cole is a true queen of the dark romance genre. She's killed it with every read I've come across and I cannot wait to get my hands on whatever else she has planned for this series.

Wow. I did not expect to love this book so much. The love between the main protagonists was written exceptionally well. The hero is a man of few words, he is complete darkness, the heroine does not belong in his world, yet when their worlds coincide, its enlightening for both of them..she gets some darkness, and he receives the light he never thought he would. How much he tried to resist his feelings and to make the heroine stay away, all his efforts r wasted before the strong heroine. Just loved the initial scenes where they couldn't be together and still managed to be there for each other in ways they couldn't be with others.. and when their worlds collide and destiny brought the heroine to the hero, there was no looking back.. I loved it so so much. And that ending was just wow.. I think the series will flow smoothly if the author continues to write so beautifully!! The other characters promise superb plots and I just wish that the remaining books are released without any undue delay!!!
