Lover: A Why Choose Academy Romance (Loxley Prep Book 3) Kindle Edition
Everything I thought I knew has been a lie.
Bishop, Wells, Ronan, and Abel no longer believe the worst about me,
And my nights are filled with love from each of them.
But my heart is broken in four pieces,
And I don’t even think they can put it back together.
I’m constantly looking over my shoulder…
Unsure of where to turn or who to believe.
All I know is that I’ve never felt more alone.
Lover is the third book in the Loxley Prep why choose series.

WHAT AN ENDING

- Reviewed in the United States on July 18, 2022A fitting end to an intriguing series. The story and series is dark with plenty of triggers. It is also entertaining was the story played out with fascinating characters and a well written storyline.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 20, 2022First of all I’d like to say that I loved the series. It was interesting and I love all the guys. I wish Abel came around earlier or we got more of their POVs bc it’s nice to see how much they love her especially when we’ve seen how much they hated her. Tbh Ronan and Bishop didn’t add a bunch to the story. I still love them but Wells and Abel stood out more. I feel like we should’ve gotten more background on ALL of them. We don’t even really know Abel’s other than his parents wanted nothing to do with him.
Some loose ends?? I don’t think it was made clear if Jordan graped her bc I remember her having a nightmare/memory of it. However it isn’t address. Maybe I misread and she was having nightmare of the memory of that scene where Jordan tried and was beat up by the guys. I swear Lennon’s first bf was named Chance and later we find out that M-(whatever number) died, HIS name was Chance, and he was Naomi’s brother. I feel like the author could’ve brought that into things. That scene with the father staring at Lennon change and asking if she started her period was uncomfortable and I really thought they’d reveal that Lennon had that in common with Abel. The ending was a bit anti-climactic and the author knows it bc Lennon says it too. I say this with love but Lennon could’ve gotten shot. It’s typical ig but always adds drama. We never really hear much from Cassie and Cade. Everly also doesn’t bring much to the story either. She could be scrapped and it would be fine. I feel like she was there so Lennon wasn’t the only female in the story and so Lennon could have a best friend. Not saying I HATE this but it’s an observation. It’s fine tho bc usually I can be rest assured that the author won’t try to do a spin off with them bc a lot of ppl are not attached to her
Lastly, this is just a comment but I feel like her dad wouldn’t name her Lennon (her mom dgaf, as far as she is concerned Lennon could have the same name as Elon Musk and Grimes’ kid). Maybe they could’ve explained it away as him being a big fan (tho she does say her name is Lennon like John Lennon) but I feel like her father would name her something super proper. Something like Anastasia and she would go by Stasia as her little form of rebellion. Lennon feels out of character for the parents. However, it is a cute name and I’m sure the author just liked it.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 28, 2022Where to start...
I'm so in love with all 4 of those guys! I really wanted to throttle Abel in the beginning for not trusting Lennon but the author made the situation so believable that I get why. I'm also glad that the teacher/student aspect with Bishop wasn't concentrated on extensively.
I loved how Wells & Ronan were the "sensitive" two but they all showed their love openly and how they actually communicated in this book! I really hate how some book characters don't tell each other ANYTHING and it always pisses me off!
I really loved how genuine & fragile Lennon was. Especially after the life she had! She was a very real character for me & I was able to seriously empathize with her.
This series was so amazing!! I couldn't read it fast enough. I do kinda wish the epilogue was longer though...
- Reviewed in the United States on June 9, 2022I have been dying for the conclusion of this series, but also sad that it is over because I have fallen in love with these characters.
Going into this story there were so many unanswered questions and even in the beginning it brought up more questions but by the end everything was answered. Up until the very end this story was bringing all the twists and turns.
I continued to fall more and more in love with these characters and their relationship. It was nice to see a different side of Bishop and Abel especially when it came to Lennon. I love how fiercely protective these guys are, especially where Lennon is involved.
I do wish there was little more of a wrap up where Cassie and Cade are involved, but it wasn’t a deal breaker for me. Plus, is anyone else hoping that this isn’t the last we see of Loxley Prep because I really want Ever to get a HEA!
If you’re looking for a romantic suspense, RH check this one out.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 9, 2022I spent the last 20% of this book determined that it was gonna be a saga instead of a trilogy. There was no way the story was going to be suitably wrapped up in 25ish pages. And I was right one one count - it wasn’t suitably wrapped up. But it is a complete trilogy.
Here’s my issue, I LOVED this trilogy. I devoured books one and two and literally cried when I realized I couldn’t immediately download book three. And I only had to wait three hours. I was so excited! But now that it’s over, I feel like I missed half the story. The first two books were full of depth and intrigue and detail. This one was short and it read short. It resolved far too quickly.
I also hated how easily she forgave the guys in the beginning of this one. I’m not going to give any spoilers, but it went from ‘no way’ to ‘love me’ in a matter of pages. I wanted the grovel. I deserved it. Particularly from one of the guys who was the literal worst before this. But I didn’t get it. And honestly, it felt a bit out of character for her that it happened that quickly.
Overall, this is a 5 star series, but this is not a five star ending. It felt rushed and lackluster. It didn’t shine as brightly as the first two. It felt like it was just desperate to end, and therefore missing a lot of the intrigue and detail that we got in the others. I mean, in books one and two there were huge OMG moments that lead to the cliffhangers. The OMG moment in this one was nothing compared to those.
I wanted to so badly to be satisfied by this ending. Maybe my expectations were too high. The first two enthralled me. I was determined that this trilogy was going to become a favorite of 2022 for me. Instead, it’s just one that I enjoyed. I recommend it. I definitely think it’s worth a read, particularly if you love the tropes. But sadly, book three didn’t bring it home for me. And it breaks my heart.

5.0 out of 5 stars Twists galore
Overall, I thought this series was great. Lots of twists and darkness at times. Loved that the main characters fought back after their messed up experiences when they were younger. Abel's situation broke my heart. He was determined and immovable. Some questions were left unanswered but I liked the conclusion, even though it did feel rushed.

5.0 out of 5 stars really good
The conclusion of this series was really good.
We could understand way better what traumas those guys had to endure and it’s really heartbreaking. This is the best of the series! I really enjoyed

All 3 books were fan-bloody-tastic. One of the best series I've read. Yes it was that good and you won't be disappointed.
