Heart Keeper: A single dad, workplace, sports romance. (Manchester Athletic Book 3) Kindle Edition

4.4 4.4 out of 5 stars 291 ratings

It’s him who needs saving…

Single dad. Goalkeeper. Widower.
Nate Morris is Manchester Athletic’s starting keeper and resident good guy. He trains, works out and looks after his daughters.
My job isn’t to stare unless it’s in a professional capacity, and I’ve sworn off footballers. As one of the team’s physios, my hands on job, is very
hands off.
Until the flirting starts.

And then Nate isn’t saving goals – he’s scoring them. In my net.

We weren’t meant to be serious. This wasn’t meant to be anything more than a few steamy nights. Only one of those goals leads to a title for me in nine months’ time.

Nate Morris isn’t your typical footballer. He doesn’t just want his heart to be saved – he wants to keep mine.

Heart Keeper is a single dad, surprise pregnancy workplace romance that will have you swooning right into the back of your net!

I adored this book so much. Much like the others in this series of interconnected standalones, it was a refreshing take on some good romance tropes. I love accidental pregnancy books, I had high hopes for this one and it did not disappoint. Nate was great and everything that I expected and more, Amber was a modern woman with valid feelings and so so so relatable. I loved the glimpses into the future books with the supporting characters.

Having read both Penalty Kiss and Hollywood Ball i couldn’t wait for more! I’ve been excited for this book ever since it was announced. With every teaser, i wanted to read it even more. I picked it up as soon as i could and got right back into the Manchester Athletic world! I really enjoyed this story so very much!

Nate and Amber’s journey had me hooked from beginning to end! Nate is a widower, single dad, and goalkeeper for the Manchester Athletic team. Amber is one of the physios for the team. As attraction blooms between these two, can they take a chance on their hearts?

Gah! Nate and Amber totally got into my heart! I really liked getting to dig deeper with these two and getting their realness. They’d both been through things in their lives and their humanness shined. The chemistry between these two was undeniable! I couldn’t wait to see how they’d tackle things. I loved how these two had my heart and i feeling so much!

I was so happy being back in the Manchester Athletic world! I so enjoyed what the other characters brought to the story as well!

With Heart Keeper, Ms.Dyer has created such a great read that brought all kinds of feels! This is one read you won’t want to put down until you reach the end! Definitely check the Manchester Athletic books out! I can’t wait for more from this author! 💚

This is book 3 in the Manchester Athletic series & could be read as a stand alone though I recommend reading the first 2 books in the series before this one. Nate has been grieving the loss of his wife and isn't really looking for love. He has been busy not only with his football (soccer) career but also raising his kids. When he notices the team physio Amber in a new light he is torn between guilt and moving on. I loved his relationship with his girls and his teammates. Amber is very determined and focused on her career, not looking for love as she's had some disastrous relationships in the past. This was a fantastic single parent story.

I’ve already read this one twice. I’m loving this new series. I love sports romance, single dad, and surprise pregnancy books so it checks lots of boxes. Nate is so swoony. His little girls are adorable. I enjoyed getting to see Amber realize that not all footballers are the same. It’s fun learning all the different personalities of the team. I really can’t wait for the next one to release.

    4 stars

Heart Keeper is book three in the Manchester Athletic series by Annie Dyer. All books so far can be read as standalones. If you're a fan of all things soccer and England, this is the series for you.

For the past couple years, all Nate could focus on was managing the grief of losing his wife, raising his two daughters alone and being the best goaltender in the premiere league. He didn't have time or the emotional space for anything more but lately he's spending a lot of his time noticing the team's physio, Amber and the way her yoga pants fit.

Amber is a successful physio for Manchester Athletic. She loves the game but after a footballer broke her heart and made her feel the fool, she's sworn off its players. But Nate makes her feel things she hasn't in a very long time. Their chemistry is strong and a fling with the guy could be fun!

This was a cute, spicy, relatively low angst story. These two navigate the dicey waters of a surprise pregnancy and joining a ready made family as grown-ups. Nate was a devoted dad and was so mature and sensitive figuring out how to join the new baby to his girls. I enjoy how drama free and mature Dyer's characters are. Great read.

Amber and Nate both work for Manchester Athletic, she's a physio trainer for the team and Nate is the goalie for one of the teams plus he's a widower raising two girls. They have an attraction but is Nate ready to move on with his life. Will they give into the attraction? Can Amber be won over by his girls? Will there be a HEA?

This was a cute story, no real drama, mostly about navigating unexpected life events. It was just ok for me. Amber was really back and forth with the whole kid thing. I don't think we fully got an explanation as to why she didn't want kids. With her major, I would think she had more insight on post partum for it to affect her the way it did. Just my thoughts.

This series just keeps getting better and better with each couple. Nate and Amber's story was so heart'meltingly good. This one really will have you feeling a little bit of everything. Steamy chemistry, romance, humor, healing, and so much more making it such an amazing read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another really good read from this series.

Nate was the goalkeeper for Manchester Athletic and the father of two small girls. He lost his wife to cancer two years ago and only now his body starts to react to the club's physio Amber. She is gorgeous and they start to be flirty with each other which leads to a very nice time on her physio table. Nate wants someone in his future and more children, but Amber tells him she isnt interested in having children. He can't help but be drawn to her and when she tells him they should be friends only he accepts her decision. She finds out she is pregnant and panics but Nate handles it really well. He is lovely with her and shows her how a good man can be. Its really nicely written and its interspersed with other team members from the series. Great series, great read.

Nate is trying to move an after losing his wife. Amber doesn't want children or a ready made family. But somehow they finally give in and have a little fun on Amber's message table. The story continues with more fun between the sheets until the appearance of two pink lines. I love the way that Nate's team mates are part of the book. And his daughter's are just the cutest little girls. This series is a brilliant. And definitely worth 5*.

This story has everything I love all rolled up into one! Friends to lovers, workplace romance, single dad, surprise pregnancy!!!!! The attraction between them both is undeniable! A few flirty texts lead to so much more! Seeing glimpses of the lives of not only the players like Jude (who is my favourite), Jesse but also of Nate's sister, Genny and Neve just make it exciting to see whose story is next!
