Hudson Rhodes is no babysitter, but when one of the original partners at his law firm asks him to keep a close eye on his daughter who is one of the upcoming mergers and acquisitions associates. Scarlett Elwood wanted no favors. She already lived under her father and brothers' shadows, but she wanted to make a name for herself. That road to success apparently goes through notorious devil-in-a-suit Hudson. Just when he had thought he had her pegged to be someone with a silver spoon in her mouth, she smashes his workplace expectations and becomes one of the best assets in his team and in the firm. A workplace friendship develops, but it is really only to mask their true feelings for each other. I ADORED THIS READ. It is a classic R.S. Grey read, taking two people who were supposed to have this big ball of animosity toward each other and transforming it organically into an unforgettable romance. I love the transition from enemies to friends to lovers. Yes, there are SO MANY HR red flags, but we willingly turn our heads because Hudson and Scarlett's charismatic connection is just GOLD. My other favorite part of R.S. Grey books is the ensemble cast, and this group in this one has to be one of my favorites. Lucy, Scarlett's family, and even the antagonistic associates brought so much to the story and created depth to the characters that made me fall in love with them even more.
