About Brina Brady

From the streets of Pompton Lakes, New Jersey, where I ruled as the eldest of five siblings, my life’s journey has been an adventure. After marrying my partner, we started a family and welcomed three amazing daughters into our lives. In 1973, the waves called, and we answered—moving to the sun-kissed beaches of sunny Huntington Beach, California. It was a dream come true.

Later, I married my loving second husband, and when family called, we packed up and headed to Indiana. Retirement opened a new chapter for me, filled with the laughter of my four adorable grandchildren and the company of two sweet cats. It’s a life full of love and completed goals.

For twenty-seven years, I taught at a Continuation High School in Los Angeles, California, where I shared my passion for learning with my students. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in History, a Secondary Social Science Credential, and a master’s degree in Secondary Reading and Secondary Education from California State University, Long Beach. I also took creative writing classes at UCLA, which helped fuel my love for storytelling.

Speaking of storytelling, I’ve been hooked on it since I was a kid. As a child, I’d spend Saturday afternoons writing novels while sipping on my grandmother’s homemade, comforting chicken soup. Even as a busy stay-at-home mom, I made time to write every day—it was my escape and my joy. Later, while teaching, I kept writing, though the demands of the classroom meant I had less time to devote to it.

Today, I’m a contemporary romance author who loves writing LGBTQ+ stories. My books often explore complex relationships and emotional journeys, with several series diving into BDSM dynamics. I also write MM romance without BDSM themes, focusing on engaging plots, well-developed characters, and plenty of steamy moments.

When I’m not writing, I’m indulging in my other passions. I’m an avid reader, always getting lost in new worlds and characters. I also love graphic design, where I get to blend art and technology to create something beautiful. And when it’s time to relax, I’m hooked on Turkish TV series—their rich stories and cultural depth totally captivate me. Each of my hobbies reflects my love of creativity, storytelling, and exploring new horizons.

I have always loved the books of Brina Brady. Ms. Brady writes the most beautiful love stories and always weaves significant secondary themes into the romance. Mobster's Gay Sons is actually three books. It was about a 14 hour read so I broke it down into three reading periods in order not to lose focus.

The storyline has a lot of heartache. Well, of course it does since it involves crime families. But additionally the two families are like Romeo and Juliet except there are two Romeos and there is a Happy-Ever-After end. Hey this is a romance novel so yes please. But in addition to the heartaches and heartbreaks there is much joy and real love. Ms. Brady writes such heartwarming stories of love, sharing with the readers what unconditional love is all about. As a gay man I experienced the homophobia from my biological siblings. My family of choice is the one that was able to show me what love is all about and that is one of the secondary themes in this three book series.

Another storyline that I constantly find in good romance novels is when the protagonists think they know what the other one is thinking... and it is almost always wrong. Ha! For heaven's sake just ask them! When I am reading the story and there is some pretty serious misunderstanding/miscommunication going on I just want to shake the character because it seems so obvious to me...BUT then I remember how often I actually do the same thing...even though I know better. This is a lesson I will always need to remember. Fortunately, Mishka and Ben are able to sort it out. The story has a lot of drama and a medium to high level of angst. There is quite a bit of non-gratuitous sexy time which includes a healthy and accurate portrayal of consensual BDSM. There are of course a lot of warm and fuzzy moments. Kudos to the author for another great series of books.

I’ve read one of Brina Brady’s books before and this series seems to be a vast improvement from the one I read. The writing is still a little sophomoric, but the storyline arc is decent. Too much BDSM-lite for my personal tastes and I’m not a fan of series where all the books are about the same couple. I lost interest halfway through the first book as it seemed way too drug out with not much happening and not a whole lot of chemistry between Mishka and Ben. I’d like to read more about Jasha and Kylan though.

This is a box set which tells the story of two men over the course of three books. Benito Banetti is the son of an Italian mobster and finds himself falling for the one person he shouldn’t, Mishka Chernov, the son of a Russian mobster and his rival.

The story is an action packed, fast-passed, emotional rollercoaster. Ms. Brady writes such heartwarming stories of love. She provides an intricate story line that will kept me engaged to the last page. The relationship between Mishka and Ben is powerful and unfolds beautifully as the story progresses. Her portrayal of the family dynamics between the Banetti and Chernovs is vivid and realistic. The MC are vulnerable and genuine.

This is a well written, action packed story with intricate plot lines that will keep the reader engaged to the last page. The relationship between Mishka and Ben is powerful and evolves as the story progresses. The family dynamics between the Banetti and Chernov’s are vividly portrayed with frightening realism. The story is much deeper than the building of the relationship between Mishka and Ben. Their individual weaknesses and insecurities are slowly revealed, and with the support of each other and a phenomenal family unit they confront their individual demons but also the bitterness of family hatred. Honestly, I was enjoying the story and the dynamic relationships so much that I didn’t want the third book to end as soon as it did! The only downside was a bit too much BDSM for my taste, but not enough that it deterred me from wanting to read the next page.

I understand that this is a mafia romance with a "bratty sub" but I have read a lot of books with that concept. In the book you tried to build a trusting relationship. however, when it came to a situation that could have been handled with a conversation. You created a situation where the sub couldn't say no. Then tried to play it off as if the sub needed a strong and firm Dom to control them. When the sub went to another experienced Dom that they trusted because this situation scared them.

I love age gaps and with bad guys/Mafia makes it even better. Mishka and Ben are from enemy families so it's sort of an enemies to lovers trope in addition to age gap and mafia/bad guys tropes. They're 17 years apart with Ben being the younger and the bottom or sub. I really liked the premise and the plot. I had issues with the actions or the reactions of the characters sometimes but I really enjoyed Mishka and Ben's journey together.

I am a huge fan of the godfather saga and this was a good saga of its own. Ben and Mishka find one another and they want a life together on their own terms but both are sons from mafia families so making your own way on your own terms is never simple. Ben's family is especially difficult to deal with and continues to not support and interfere with their development as couple. They face a lot of obstacles over this series before they reach their HEA but I enjoyed reading my way there. 4.5 stars of romance, suspense and intrigue.
