Ella goes to visit her cousin in Toronto. As she arrives she sees there has been a problem at the house next door-lots of Police and yellow tape! Of course Ella, being an amateur sleuth who is really quite good at it, gets involved! Although she never looks for trouble--it seems to follow her!! The neighbor, a prominent author, and a very wealthy one, has been murdered. There are many people who could be the culprit-including his adult children. The real killer is someone you will never expect! Ella and the lead detective literally question anyone who could be a suspect-and there really are a lot of them. There is a surprise happy ending for Ella once she returns home!

    Andrew Thomas seems to enjoy writing mysteries with dozens of significant characters and plots twists. His books are somewhat more bloodthirsty than I normally prefer. But in spite of this, once I pick up one of his books and start reading, I find it almost impossible to put his book down until I finish it. And Andrew Thomas makes stories that might seem outrageous if they were told by a less skillful author, actually seem like he knows what he is talking about. And perhaps Andrew Thomas does know what he is talking about.

    Some authors have written books about a fictional version of their lives. Doctors write medical mysteries. Jockeys write about horseracing. Andrew Thomas tells stories like he knows what he is talking about.

    A birthday party for an Author Howard. His Kids invited his publishers and friends. Howard decided to take a break he gave himself a shot and then laid down for a bit. Gabriella came to Toronto to her cousin's house who lived next door to Howard. She wondered why there were so many police cars and emergency vehicles blocking her car to get to her cousin.I I read several of her books and I enjoyed this book.
