3.9 out of 5 stars 36 ratings

Are they over before they’ve had a chance to truly begin?

Charged with planting a listening device in the office of a mysterious nightclub owner, Ever Marcille accepts an invite from her target to indulge in some naughty play. She didn’t count on their mutual, insatiable need, or the many ways his closely guarded secrets intertwined with hers.

Simon Dakin has one thing on his mind, getting close to the arms dealer known as Ghost. That’s until he spies Ever at his club. Time after time she comes in, teasing his senses, starring in his fantasies. He promises himself one night with her in his arms, but a single taste isn’t possible. He’s hooked.

Even as their secrets intrude, Dak and Ever succumb to their desires on borrowed time. Can their new-found feelings survive the many blows, or are they over before they’ve had a chance to truly begin?

Make Me Sweat is book 1 in the Make Me Series. Books 2-3 are M/M. This novella features secrets, lies, lust, a forbidden relationship, and heat galore.

A Grenadian transplant, Avril now lives in Tucker, GA, with a madly tolerant husband. Together they raise an eccentric daughter who’s pretty meh about reading and school. Avril’s earliest memories of reading revolve around discussing the plot points of Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys with an equally book-minded mother.

Always in love with the written word, Avril finally decided to do the writing in August of ’09 and never looked back. She’s been nominated for numerous awards, including Best Author, Best series (Brooklyn Sinners), and Favorite All-Time Author. In 2013 Avril won Evernight Publishing’s Reader’s Choice Award for the LGBT (Male/Male) category. Recently she took home the Golden Ankh award for best Male/Male romance for her bestselling novel, Sinner’s Fall.

Addicted to cake, the ID Channel, and the UFC, Avril writes Gay and Erotic Romance with happy endings; she remains a believer of love in all its forms.

Steamy short with intrigue and action. Dak and Ever have instant attraction and lots of chemistry. Neither knows who the other is but when they find out, how will they stay together? Good little read.

Undercover federal agent Simon Dakin wants Ever Marcille not knowing she is the contact standing between him and his target arms dealer ghost. Ever is charged with watching new potential client Dak aka the federal agent Simon who is after her boss (although there is more but I refuse to spoil it for you). These two think they are serving cross purposes when it comes to life outside the bedroom but time will defiantly tell.

Bookswagger Marcia: Three Crowns, swagger jacked, decent read. Dak put it on Ever scene one and kept it up. Ever is a strong willed woman and really did not know how to take a guy who could handle her. After a drastic first marriage which she dove in head first and is still paying for her guard is way up but Dak shows her he is a good guy who is tougher than her and can handle all her spunk. There were some stilted moments for me hence the three stars but overall good read, interesting light suspenseful quickie.

Straight to the Swagger: Hot did I mention hot XXX scenes, if you like a dominant man who does not take you all the way into bdsm land, you will enjoy this read.

I've been a fan of Avril Ashton for a while and I really love her quality of storytelling. The love scenes are scorching hot. I was a little confused on the storyline (hence why this is only 4-stars and not the 5 stars it should be) but it's a great read. If you're an erotic romance fan, you don't want to miss this!

So, once again I was thoroughly disappointed. Sometimes I wonder if I should read any reviews at all but I can't help myself.....everyone has different taste. But let me tell you why I gave this story such a poor rating. I felt like there were pages missing or desperately required a "prologue" of some sort. The story started out with jumping the shark and then as I kept reading I felt even more lost because it didn't explain how these two fell for one another nor was there a background established.....definitely no characterization whatsoever. It certainly had potential and liked the premise of the plot but was not enough to satisfy the advent reader in me. :(

WOW, first off lets get this out of the way this book is rated XXX, it has explicit language and sex and I LOVE IT, the first chapter and the middle of the book wow what they did DANG, so if your not into that, this is sooooooooo not for you, but you don't know what your missing. This is some hardcore erotica, mix with some action and a plot.

Sexy Dak aka Simon is an under cover FBI agent who is after a weapons dealer who is known as the Ghost, while under cover posing as a club owner, he meets and becomes wildly attracted to Ever. After becoming involved with Ever they both start to realize they are both involve with the Ghost but each has their own reasons. Reading the first chapter *faning* wow i said to myself ok started out a bit kinky but i had no idea where this was going, but when i got into chapter 2 i said ok makes sense why the author started the book that way. I have to say as much as Ever and Dak were going at it and they bump and grind a lot there was still some plot and some action that not only turned me on but kept me engaged to what was happening in the story. The other characters as well did they're part, but Ever's best friend Wes and Dak's best friend Jayce not sure what was going on there that was left open, I don't want to give anything away but Jayce seem sexy as well. I really enjoyed this read and I have to say I read the author's last book Blindfold and love this book wayyyyyyyyyyyy more.

Again, I personally loved this story, plot, sex and everything about this book, not sure how everyone else would feel about it, it was surely a fantasy for me and when I read my romance novels nothing is ever taken seriously. I think readers should give it a try, it's dirty, good and then some.

    Story:GOOD
    Intimacy: D.R.I.P = Don't Read In Public
    Enjoyment: GOOD

It was good but it’s a quick read compared to other books by this author. I love her writing style so wished it was longer and more in-depth.
