Since I turned thirty, all I can think about is having a baby. Someone of my own I can love. Someone who won’t break my heart.
But I don’t want another relationship ever again.
I thought about going to a clinic. But I like the idea of knowing the identity of the father of my child, even if we’re not an item.
So I pick Marc. Or Fitz, as everyone else calls him.
He’s tall, handsome, healthy – apart from his injured back – hardworking, kind, and loyal. I’d be happy if my child were to grow up like him.
So I ask him if he’d agree to be a sperm donor for me.
To my disappointment, he says no.
He does say he’ll be happy to get me pregnant the old-fashioned way.
According to him, extended foreplay increases the man’s productivity.

    MY WOUNDED BILLIONAIRE is a standalone read with a HEA. It is sexy as heck if that is an issue for you. I have to admit my feelings have changed. I now think Marc/Fitz is the new love of my life. OMG what a great hero. He is all that and a little bit more. Fitz has had a crush on Poppy for some time. However, she is somewhat of a closed off person. He is determined to win her heart.

    Poppy and Marc have been friends for a while. She is so quiet, reserved and shy that he is having a hard time winning her over. Then she asks a favor of him. She desperately wants a child and Marc being the guy he is, he is perfect father material. She just wants him to be a sperm donor. He thinks it over for a couple of days and then he tells her he will do it but there is a condition. They have to do it the old fashion way. She is not so sure that is a good idea. She has not had any luck with sex and men and she is afraid he will be disappointed in her and she is sure she will not enjoy it at all.

    They wind up sharing a week alone and she finds out that Marc is all he says he is. She is experiencing emotions and feelings she never knew she had. This story is so good that you will not be able to put it down. I LOVED it. A great read and a great story in this series. It is amazing how all the stories are so different and each one as good as the next. I HIGHLY recommend it. A fun, sexy read.

    Teachers could assign this book as supplementary reading material! Do they still separate boys and girls for sex ed classes.

    I love Marc's guided meditation through coupling and Poppy's quick learning of the techniques. The setting of the majority of the book is less focused on the Ark in the Bay of Islands.

    The little scene with Mel reminds me about a sighting of my ex a couple of generations ago. I abruptly quit seeing him right at winter break. I never offered him any explanation. I just knew the trail had ended, and I didn't contact him again. I saw him 5 or so years later in the grocery parking lot. He was driving a minivan with three car seats in the backseat. The last time I had seen him, he came out and told me that he was going to medical school after undergrad and he wouldn't be getting married for many years. I woke up from my daydream knowing that he was not The One for me. The young man was married within a year of my giving him the gate and he and his wife had three stairstep daughters right away. He was a nice guy, but that kind of forever was never in our relationship.

    Nice read. Warm and comfy book.

    Poppy King wants a baby to love but she doesn’t want a relationship. She is planning on visiting a fertility clinic to be impregnated. But she makes the accident of telling Marc Fitzpatrick aka Fritz her plans. Although she does want Marc to be her baby’s father.

    Marc Fitzpatrick has always felt something for Poppy King but due to a variety of reasons, he has held back. The biggest reason is that he understands she is on the autism spectrum and struggles with understanding people and reading social clues. But to him, this isn’t an issue. He knows he has to approach a relationship with her differently.

    When Marc hears Poppy wish to have a baby, he takes the chance and makes her the offer that he will be willing to help her. But the caveat is that he wants to do it the old fashioned way and he is willing to keep “practicing” until she is finally pregnant. Poppy is very hesitant to take Marc up on his offer. In all of her relationships to date, she has never enjoyed having sex with her partner. This she thinks is a direct correlation to being on the spectrum.

    Marc needs to go to Hawkins Bay to check up on the new Ark location and decides to ask Poppy to come along with him. And to turn it into a week long vacation. Poppy is hesitant but she finally agrees to go with Marc. With only one week to show Poppy how wonderful they can be together and to help her fulfill her mission, Marc pulls out all of the stops to make things work.

    Marc has been waiting for Poppy for what seems like forever. Can they make this last forever?

    Ms. Woods is a fantastic character writer and it shows in all of her books. But in this one, she has outdone herself.

Of course, we know how the book will end a fourth of the way through... But, as Ms. Woods so expertly writes, even with a woman on the Autism Spectrum (?), there are obstacles on the way! The beauty is that true love can overcome almost anything! You’ll love this sweet, naive woman who blossoms in the man she can only dreams exist! Serenity Woods writes for the average woman who can really see this as an option in her life. Carpe Diem (Seize the day) is a statement that is totally appropriate for the tale of these two lovers? I hope you enjoy this as much as I did!!

    This was Marcs (Fitz) and Poppys story. Poppy doesn’t want a man she wants a baby. Marc wants Poppy so he is more than willing to act as her sperm donor. Things definitely become more complicated for Poppy when she lets feelings get involved. This is a continuation in the wonderful stories from the Arc and the billionaire Kings series. I love the way Serenity Woods writes a love story. Her style is not frantic but is very smooth and sensual with definite feel goods. I really enjoyed this book as I have the whole series.

    Following the stories of people working at the Ark, this is yet another good read. If you’ve read the Three Wise Kings series, reading this series means having to suspend time a bit (this should be a good 25/30ish years in the future) but it’s worth it. Reading more about how Charlie’s life has gone is nice, and I’m loving the references to all the characters from previous and this series. It makes you feel invested in everyone and looking forward to the next book. There’s gentle humour, drama and the sex scenes are written very well, though having read so many of them from this writer it’s easy to notice recurring themes.

    All in all, recommend the book, the series and this writer :)

    My Wounded Billionaire is the fifth book in this series, set at an animal rescue center in New Zealand called The Ark. The animal rescue theme provides a delightful backdrop for the romantic stories that unfold. Poppy oversees the petting zoo at The Ark, where she teaches children how to care for and respect animals. After a series of disappointing relationships and struggles with intimacy, she decides she would rather have a child out of wedlock and forgo the relationship aspect entirely. However, her difficulties with communication and reading emotions, which run in her family, complicate her plans.
