“All you have to do is ask.” “All you have to do is take.” Right, let’s get one thing straight. Maddox = MINE. I mean, I claimed him way, back when, and now I’ve read his story, I’ve even more obsessed with him. Even more in love with him. Even more in love with this series, TBH. Melanie Moreland, I don’t even know what to say. I begged, pleaded and made doe-eyes at her until she let me get my hands on Maddox early, and whoa, I am not sorry I behaved that way at all. I was verily glued to the pages of my Kindle with this book. Addicted and in love and with my adrenaline pumping. Every time the man uttered “Deirdre,” I felt a dizzying sense of need. Of want. This is another tense, sexy (read: really freakin’ sexy, because MY Maddox has a mouth on him, oh, yes he does) and touching read. With throwback glimpses of our favorite Moreland Men, swoony words and those signature blood-pumping, thigh-clenching moments, Maddox has heat and heart. In equal measure. It’s the balance between the two—along with the humor of these BAM men added in for good measure—that makes this book the perfect way to wrap with the first part of this series. What’s that?     OMG, this book was amazing!!! I LOVED Bentley and his story, I LOVED Aiden and his story, but I have to say that I BEYOND LOVED Maddox and his story!!!! This book sucked me in from the first chapter and never let me go! Maddox always seemed like a much more complex guy then his BAM brothers, but I really had no idea how much more complex he was. It started with his horrible childhood at the hands of an alcoholic, abusive father. The prologue just broke my heart! But to hear how strong and determined he was to get away from his father and build a life was amazing. Such a strong character!! Of course, as a college student, he made some mistakes due to poor judgement and unfortunately, they come back to haunt him.
    Then there's Dee, Cami's sister. This poor woman raised her sister, at an early age, due to her parents abandoning them. She was forced to grow up quickly and be a parent to her younger sister. This, of course in her mind, meant shielding Cami from all the bad stuff that was going on in her life. That makes for a really lonely life. She also made some mistakes in her twenties with a destructive relationship, that kinda sent her off the deep end. But, she kept it all to herself. This caused her to put up walls and decide that she would never love anyone, so that they didn't have the power to hurt her.
    Dee and Maddox are kinda thrown together due to the pairing up of Bentley and Emmy, and Aiden and Cami. They make the best of it with a sexual arrangement, which works until Maddox develops feelings. Then it becomes very complicated.
    I loved getting to be involved with everyone's lives again, since I missed all of them!! Loved the wedding planing for Bent and Emmy, loved watching Aiden and Cami try to negotiate married life!! I especially loved seeing the bonds between Bent, Tree Trunk, and Mad Dog!! Those 3 men are wonderful on their own, but brilliant together!!
    AND the wonderful surprise of having Richard be involved in this series!!!! That was AMAZING!!!! Loved hearing about him and Katy, and their girls! Loved seeing Graham again and can't wait to see what happens with Becca!!
    I won't give anything away, but Melanie, that epiloge meant EVERYTHING to me!!!! Made me smile, made my heart happy, and just was a wonderful wrap up to this series! YOU ARE AN EXTRAORDINARY AUTHOR!!!!

    Love these guys. Now we know all three stories. I would recommend reading the series in order.

    We get a little different story this time. Maddox, just like the other two, swore off love. He didn’t think he could love or be loved. But Maddox is first to fall this go round. Problem is, he wants Dee and she is more messed up about love than he is.

    For me, this got to be a tad monotonous as you know both Maddox and Dee care for each other, they are dating and spending a lot of their time together, but at the same time keeping their distance. All due to their past. At some point, everyone grows up so I needed them to get there faster.

    Still a good read and a good series thus far. I definitely like when they are all together. The banter is great and the world created is fun. Love the drop in by a familiar friend.

    I fell in love with the men of BAM during the first Vested Interest book, Bentley! I knew then that that love affair would expand with each story. I am so very excited to say that I was not wrong. Maddox...Mad Dog...The silver haired fox...The Dirty Talking Sex god...all of those wrapped into one man! But so much more! Like Bentley, he requires order and control in his life, but with none of the dividends that made us love how Emmy transformed him. Mark's need for order and control comes from his very tumultuous upbringing and other events in his life. He loved his life now. With his two, best friends, Bentley and Aiden, a very successful business, and a great sense of style. However when he met Dee, he realizes he wants more. Control and order, yes, but now he wants what Bentley and Aiden have found...someone to share it with. Dee didn't believe in love and happily ever afters, because life has taught her that it doesn't exist. However with Maddox's persistence, her walls slowly start coming down. Maddox is waiting for Dee to come to the realization that there is such a thing called HEA, and that they can have it together. It's only when a blast from Maddox's last threatens his relationship with his "brothers" and with Dee, that begins to doubt it himself. However, Melanie Moreland brings us another blast from the past, Richard VanRyan, from her bestselling book, The Contract, to help him see the voice of reason. I loved the merging of the two series. It was done in a way that made total sense, and was a real treat. Melanie Moreland out does herself with every book character she introduces us to. She really knows how to tell a story! I will read anything and everything she writes because I'm never disappointed. Her bio says it best "She's learned happily ever afters, even bumpy ones, are all in how you tell the story." And she tells them well!

    I love the boys of BAM and so sad that its coming to an end. Maddox is the enigma of the group, serious like Bentley but with signs (socks!) that there is more to know about him. The prologue had my heart, an insight to this man as a child and his upbringing.

    Both Maddox and Dee have issues with romantic love, having negative experiences has left them disillusioned and yet their passionate natures make them the perfect 'no strings' lovers! Watch out for Maddox and his unexpectedly dirty mouth.

    As with the other Vested Interest books there is an element of suspense which I love. Once again I was struck by the bonds of friendship in this series, their banter and their obvious love and respect for one another as they pull together, drawing people into their inner circle.

    I really hope we see more of these guys in the future, because the glimpse of them in the epilogue was perfect!
