    This series has been a perfect example of how good a "midlife" series can be. I tend to prefer younger, bada** MCs, but when the Mom is as bada** as Melissa is, who cares about a couple extra decades?!? Her daughter is a wonderful combination of a "normal" youth combined with bravery, strength and insight beyond her years. This is a totally YA series.

    DMF has the ability to create an evolving situation that seems totally insurmountable and succeeding seems to be against all possible odds - then resolves it in a way that is fraught with immense danger and suspense. I love a happy ending!! Good stuff!!

    The cast of quirky and intriguing characters enriched this complex, intelligent and powerful saga and had a very satisfying resolution. Whew - I really couldn't imagine how they were going to win in a situation this overwhelming!
