Mission for the Maharajah: Patricia Fisher Mysteries (Patricia Fisher Cruise Ship Mysteries Book 7) Kindle Edition

4.6 out of 5 stars 908 ratings

When Patricia returned the missing sapphire of Zangrabar she had no idea the Maharaja would consider himself eternally in her debt. Hardly surprising then that she has been invited to his son’s coronation as the new Maharaja.

There’s intrigue and mystery afoot though; the Marahaja’s invite suggested he had a mystery for her to solve, but in true Patricia style, it’s nowhere near that simple.

Someone in Zangrabar wants her dead but they didn’t count on the tenacity of her friends and the loyalty of her butler. Beware wrongdoers, Patricia is getting used to ruining nefarious plans.

However, with her friends going missing, secretive servants, lies and unexplained events, it’s soon time for Patricia to ditch the willing smiles and go full sleuth-mode.

Get ready for adventure in the desert as Patricia and her entourage take on a secret mission that will place them in the middle of a perilous conspiracy and may cost them more than they want to pay.

When Steve Higgs wrote his debut novel, Paranormal Nonsense, he was a captain in the British Army. He would like to pretend that he had one of those careers that must be blacked out and generally denied by the government, and that he has to change his name and move constantly because he is still on the watch list in several countries. In truth, though, he started out as a mechanic - not like Jason Statham in the film by that name, sneaking around as a hitman, but more like one of those sleazy guys who charges a fortune and keeps your car for a week even though the only thing you went in for was a squeaky door hinge.

At school, he was largely disinterested in all subjects except creative writing, for which he won his first prize at the age of ten. However, calling it the first prize he won suggests that there were other prizes, which is not the case. Awards may yet come, but in the meantime, he enjoys writing mystery and thriller novels and claims to have more than a hundred books forming a restless queue in his mind because they are desperate to be written.

Now retired from the military, he lives in southeast England with a duo of lazy sausage dogs. Surrounded by rolling hills, brooding castles, and vineyards, he doubts he'll ever leave, the beer is just too good.

I found it interesting that you used Martin Baker for one of the characters. Martin Baker makes ejection seats for fighter aircraft so in one of your future books you could bring in a retired fighter pilot that meets Martin Baker and befriends the group, just an idea. Thank you for another great story/series.

I do not believe thete is such a thing ad a bad Steve Higgs book. This was no exception. That said, I felt more lost than usual in Patricia Fisher's leaps in logic, though by story's end I knew what was going on. I still wasn't too sure how Patricia got to her conclusions at all. I intend to re-read the book and see if it makes a little more sense. Again I stress that Steve's book are hysterical at the very least. Read them - they are like sex - the worst I ever had was wonderful!

This story was so fantastic, so hard to believe, but very entertaining. Patricia and her band of helpers are joined by an ambassador and a valet as they try to save a ruler and his country. There is much intrigue, suspense, and violence. And an unbelievable ending.

If you want a light hearted cozy, this is just the thing to read. I’ve enjoyed all of his books and Patricia is such a delight. I could see in my mind of Patricia and the gang running about like the Keystone cops. It’s such fun.

An absolutely new approach to light mystery. I say light because there humor and mystery because these mysteries are not run of the mill. Neither are the main characters but very likeable.

I just love this series! I’m not going to repeat the synopsis, you’ve likely already read it, I’ll just tell you that it’s a fun, fast moving, exciting and funny read. There are no clues pulled out of thin air, the plot makes sense. The characters are well developed and the storyline makes sense. I highly recommend this book!

A mystery or two and a missing Maharajah. Patricia and friends are invited to the coronation of the next Maharajah when the fun and games begin. These books are great and they do make me chuckle. I can't wait to read the next one.

Another unputdownable story! There are bits that made my heart race even though I hadn't been to the gym because I am getting over an operation. Patty is a great advertiser for getting fit in middle age. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series
