Malachite (The Brotherhood of Ormarr Book 4) Kindle Edition

4.6 4.6 out of 5 stars 752 ratings

Malachite~

I have a wonderful life. I have no room to complain; between my brothers and their new mates, this is the most alive our home has felt since my parents died. Unfortunately, all of them being mated is making me miserable. When it was just the four of us, it was us against the world. Now they’re paired up and it’s only me and my dragon, Kesia. Until I happen to walk into the Overlord’s Lair and I see him: Quentin.
Mine. Mate. As much as I want to win him over without telling him I’m a dragon rider and we’re mates—which I know he’d love—I’m not sure I can. The minute I’m around him I act like an idiot.

Quentin~

Every time the goofy guy walks into my store, he brightens my day, and I look forward to his daily visits. There’s just something about him that draws me to him, to the point he leaves me pining after him the moment he’s gone. But the thing is, I can tell he’s hiding something, and my wild imagination is coming up with the craziest explanations of the secrets he’s keeping. Maybe he’s a vampire that’s come to whisk me away—ridiculous, right? But a guy can dream. And I’ve definitely been dreaming of that big, muscular man wrapping me in his arms at night.

Malachite is the final book in The Brotherhood of Ormarr series. While each book focuses on a different couple, the overall story arc concludes in this installment. For maximum enjoyment, we suggest reading in order. Malachite is a m/m romance, and is recommended for adults 18 years and older.

Holy cow! What a great story and a great ending to the whole Brotherhood/Order storyline, too! 👍🏻 MALACHITE is the fourth book in a really enjoyable series. (💕This book features Malachite & Quentin — along with the rest of their wonderful family of dragon riders, humans & dragons. 😀)
📚Seriously, this series is worth reading!! Even though each book features a different Ormarr brother and his heart song (a.k.a. mate), there is an overall story arc that progresses throughout the series —> so be sure to read the books in chronological order 1 - 4.
    ❤️ ENJOY! ❤️

I was hooked from Book 1 n binged right thru all 4. I sure hope there will be more. The only thing I didn’t like was skipping so far in the future at the end. I would have liked to have seen how all the new family members became to be.

This is a fantasy suspense romance series, this being the fourth book and needs to be read in order! Once again, the world building in this series is sheer amazement and the character development a delight. There are some aspects of the series that I expected (foreshadowing: your guide to quality literature), but this ending half of the book completely caught me off guard in a most excellent way!! I read books like I breath air, so it is very , very rare for me to be surprised. I definitely recommend this gem, clearly my favorite of the entire series (but still, read the books in order).

I loved the twist that this book took along with the extended epilogue featuring each couple. I loved this series and am so sad to see it end.

4.0 out of 5 stars Personagens cativantes e história encantadora

Gostei de toda a série The Brotherhood of Ormarr.

Well after the first 3 books this final instalment really did have a lot to do to beat them. But it does although we already suspect the villain it still has an amazing story arc. I was rooting for not only Kite & Q but the whole family from the start & I was not let down. I also absolutely loved the ending. Beautiful conclusion to a sublime series. Definitely all the books are 5 star reads. Xx

3.0 out of 5 stars Good end of the arc, un-interesting character.

In a way, this book is better and worse than its predecessors. We do get a solution for the traitors in the brotherhood. And some other nice surprises. However, Malachites mate is my least favourite. I should like him, with all his ideas. But he feels bad developed to me. There are far too many tears, fear and helplessness to relate to him. Even though he has his place in the story he remains colourless and appears too weak.
All in all a quick read, nice conclusion but neither Q nor the epilogue thrilled me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great wrap up to the series
Reviewed in Australia on July 4, 2019
This was a great wrap up to the series! I admit I wondered whether these authors would be able to pull off not only telling Malachite's story, but also closing out the ongoing plotline to do with the Order, the Brotherhood and the betrayal from within. I shouldn't have worried though, because they did an amazing job.

The first part of the book introduces us to Quentin, and gives us a deeper insight into Malachite. I loved watching them fumble around each other and get to know the other slowly. Their romance and connection was beautifully written, and Malachite proved he was the sweet and gentle giant that Kyla had been calling him in earlier books. Quentin was an interesting and fun character as well - his love of dragons and anything mythical gave him an open mind when the truth came out, and the dragons all flocked to him much to the amusement of all the riders.

The Brotherhood/Order storyline played out well, and we finally got to see the real culprits behind the death of the Ormarr parents, and the other atrocities committed over the years.

I did find the very end (right before the epilogue) a little off for some reason - it didn't seem to flow with the rest of the book to date, and the conversation seemed a little stilted and conveniently wrapped up, making it appear a little rushed. Consequently, the epilogue was sorely needed to smooth things over once again.

And I really liked the epilogues - seeing all of the brothers and their mates 10 years down the track. It was a brief glimpse into the HEA for all of them, and the contentment that their lives had brought them.

I have enjoyed this series, and given I haven't read some of these authors before, now have some new series to go and check out given I liked their writing style.

I would recommend this series, and would provide the advice that if you don't like one book or the writing style, still keep reading as they all varied slightly but built on the previous books to provide a satisfying resolution.
