The Troll: Book 3, The man with a tale to tell Kindle Edition

4.7 out of 5 stars 5 ratings

Three friends. A dark secret from their past. An internet troll threatening to tell the world.

The terrifying climax of THE TROLL; a creepy, page turning psychological thriller from the prize winning author of The Killing Jar. Perfect for fans of Gone Girl and The Girl on the Train

Radio presenter Kelly is beyond worried when her friend Louisa, a college lecturer, goes missing. She's convinced her friend's disappearance is all to do with an internet troll called SickMan who's been targeting them for months. The same guy poisoned their artist friend Adam and broke into Kelly's apartment to leave a nasty surprise for her on the bed.

At first they thought SickMan was an old friend, Gary Bukowski, back from the 'dead', but Kelly's not so sure anymore. It could be Gary but it could be Louisa's jealous husband, Jack. It could be the new man in Kelly's life, Paul, who seems too good to be true. She even has crazy moments of wondering if her own alter ego is to blame, like the guy out of Fight Club. No one is above suspicion, not even herself.

Sometimes the truth is even stranger than it appears.

The rest is tears>

A tense, gripping read that will keep you guessing right till the last page.

Editorial Reviews

Review

"This bloomed into a brilliantly told story of shared secrets and guilty histories. By the end of the book I was #CompletelyHooked."
Richard Farren Barber, author of The Sleeping Dead

"...a fascinating, engaging, yet dark and disturbing read."
Pam McIllroy, Pamreader

Praise for The Killing Jar

"A shocking glimpse of Nottingham gangland" (Christina Patterson Independent)

"A powerful, loving and honest new voice" (A.L. Kennedy)

"A wonderful novel... I am full of admiration" (Alan Sillitoe)

"Kerrie Ann's strident voice sounds authentic; her plight compelling and affecting" (Independent on Sunday)

"Monaghan's novel is direct and deceptively simple. In spite of the suffering there are surprising touches of humour and tenderness that bloom like flowers on asphalt" (Frank Egerton The Times)

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant read yet again

This had to be a 5 star because there were no more! I was lucky to have have found this trilogy after they had all been released. I’m not sure I how I would have got on if I couldn’t have read one after the other like I did #becauseIcouldn’twaittofindout..... There are many twists and turns which keep you guessing and gripped. The Killing Jar was the first book of Nicola’s that I read which was another brilliant piece of work, it evoked many memories of my own childhood (in a good way). I then read the fabulous Loggerheads before The Troll books. Next Stop The Night Lingers. If you haven’t read any of Nicola’s books yet then I envy you! Get ordering or downloading I promise you will not be disappointed.
