    This is my first time reading a book by Thea Dawson and I must say I thoroughly enjoyed it. Great story I loved that Anna bell and Archer fell in love. I could not belive that he blew an important appointment to advance his career to win back the woman he loved. That's true love. I must admit that I shed a few tears for them. I loved it.

    This is a great story about a lady that is very insecure around her family because she thinks she's a plain Jane and doesn't think she can find a date who will stay by her side once they meet her sister's. She also thinks every one in the family is much more successful than her. She pays to get someone to date her for a family party to act like he's in love with her. Great story, but ruined for me at the very end because the author uses the Lord's name a few times as a curse word.

    Annabelle feels "inadequate" among her very loving and very sophisticated and elegant family members: "a little brown button amid a group of sequins" and so she hires an escort of the next black tie affair her parents are giving.

    Archer is an actor who is making it big - one day. In the meantime he works in smaller roles and at the escort service to pay the rent. But he is somehow intrigued by the girl who is very clever (working on her PhD) and convinced that she can't be as lovely and loveable as her sisters.

    Due to Annabelle's low self-esteem she can't believe that any man as good looking as Archer could possible be interested in her as a woman.

    Of course that way lies disaster but heartache is part of live and love and in the end things do work out .
