Marriage by Mail (Big Rock Romance Book 1) Kindle Edition
Molly adores her new husband and wants nothing more than to make him happy. But sometimes, his rules just get in her way. He wouldn't really take her in hand, would he? He's just joking, teasing her. Right?
He'd been right about the rustlers, though. After a very tough night, they were caught, and now, surely, Derek could loosen up those rules. Besides, what he never finds out won't hurt, will it?
Publisher's Note: This sweet Old West romance contains elements of power exchange.

About the author

I've been writing since January of 2019, with the first book published in June of that year. I wish I'd started writing forty years ago! I live in a rural area of Arkansas with my husband, who is my very own hero heartthrob. There's a little bit of him in all my leading male characters. Between us, we have two grown sons, both married to wonderful women, and the grandchildren count currently stands at three.
There are five books in the Big Rock Romance series with Blushing Books:
Marriage by Mail - Jun 2019
A Badge in Big Rock - July 2019
Deputy's Dilemma - August 2019
Big Rock Rescue - December 2019
Bedlam at Big Rock - May 2020
The problem is, I love that little town of Big Rock in the Wyoming Territory, and no matter how I tried, I couldn't leave it. So, I'm now working on a spin-off series based in the same town, with the same supporting characters. These are Mail Order Bride stories. All of the westerns can be standalones, but it would likely enhance your reading experience if you read them in order. Our old friends pop up in subsequent books. This is the Operation Big Rock Brides series:
Two Brides for Big Rock - November 2020
Opal from Omaha - December 2020
Ruby from Rawlins - January 2021
Lacy from Laramie - March 2021
Nellie from Newport - May 2021
Lily from Lincoln - June 2021
I just released the first book, really a novella, of a new series, Wild West Loves. Look for at least three more in the series!
New Home in New Forge - February 2022
I have a contemporary sci-fi complete with hot alpha aliens who are determined to get their earth gals, "I Married an Alien Handyman." And it's fun, I promise! Fun, interesting, romantic, steamy, and a tad kinkier than my westerns. I wasn't sure if it will be a series, but I'm leaning that way.
I like to write fun and interesting stories with witty dialog and believable (mostly) characters I hope you'll love, too. The heroes are hot and hunky, the heroines are smart and capable, and sometimes pay the consequences for it. You can always count on a happily ever after. I'm a sucker for a good romance, you know.
I would love to hear from you!

- Reviewed in the United States on June 9, 2019I enjoyed this first book in the Big Rock Romance series by a new author, Ms. Nora Nolan. Both Derek McBride and Molly Hickam Brewer will find themselves widowed young and get a second chance at happiness. With the help of Molly’s cousin, Philip Hickan, he will introduce her to his friend, Derek McBride via letters and the correspondence begins.
The plot will have Molly selling the business and her home she shared with her late husband, Walter, and moving to Big Rock to marry widower, Derek McBride. During the stagecoach travels, she will become acquainted with Bethie Benson and her parents. It will be a friendship that last and even brings Bethie for an extended visit.
Philip Hickam will come to Big Rock, and from the time he meets Lizbeth “Bethie” Benson, he knows she is the one for him. It will include the courtship and relationship of these two. These two are drawn to each other and have lively and colorful conversations.
The story has some mystery-suspense with the troubles of horse rustlers, the men trying to keep the women safe, and also teaching them how to use firearms. It will have the newness of two couples and their relationships, along with friendships. The story also has sweet romance, mildly explicit sex scenes, and several spankings. There is great chemistry between the couples and plenty of page-turning scenes.
I look forward to more books by this author.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 12, 2020It was a great story but ended abruptly. All the story lines were wrapped up but the last chapter just solved all the problems and the end...Good grammar, writing was professional if a bit
predictable. Story premise was good and interested me right away but story was very predicatable.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 4, 2024Awesome book. I loved Molly and Derrick and Phillip and Beth. I love the quick love set in this time period

Derek and Molly had been writing for months and were ready for the next. The stagecoach delivered his mail-order bride to the growing, western town and with it a new lease on life. I liked that it wasn’t insta-love as they had a foundation to build on. Wed right away, their courtship really continued after their “I do’s”, learning more about each other every day. This was a different time and different rules but I really struggled with Derek’s attitude at times, and Molly’s acceptance of it. Being concerned and knowledgeable is much different than controlling and autocratic…
It wasn’t like that always, there were moments of sharing and caring – as well as steam – that gave their story the just right balance. And as a bonus, Molly’s matchmaker cousin found his love as well. And who argues against more love?
*I happily reviewed this story

- Reviewed in the United States on August 11, 2019Molly and Dereck were mail order brides and groom. This book has danger and finds these two learning about one another. It has plenty of love, discipline and adventure. It doesn't have a lot of sex but is otherwise delightful. I enjoyed it
- Reviewed in the United States on October 18, 2019I absolutely loved this book, actually the whole series of 3 currently available. It's a western story set back in the stagecoach days with some suspense and action mixed with the romance plot lines. I really enjoyed the way the romance and sexy parts happened organically within the story. The characters and town come to life and are more than just stand-ins. I know that I will read these novels again.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 13, 2019This book was enjoyable from start to finish, really sweet and believable. The writer did a great job of staying faithful to the mechanics of living in a time when things like plumbing were still in the future for most people. I loved the devotion that Derek and Molly had for each other and the loyalty to their friends. I'm glad the series is continuing!

3.0 out of 5 stars Two for one
Molly is a mail order bride for Derek. Both have been married before and are now widowed. They take to each other immediately and enjoy a full relationship. Molly's cousin Philip and friend Bethie come to stay and also immediately find themselves becoming close.
Meanwhile there is a problem of rustlers to solve.
You get two couples in this story, but it is mainly focused on Derek and Molly. As usual the plot mainly centres on the relationship between the couple with a minor hitch thrown in.
