Matchmaking a Billionaire: An Opposites Attract, Billionaire Romantic Comedy (Highland Hills) Kindle Edition
He’s everyone’s dream man but hers.
Bryn
I used to believe in what we do at Mayberry Matchmakers, but now? Love is just another four-letter word.
Too bad my grandmother hasn’t gotten the memo. When tech billionaire Rory Byrne approaches us, wanting to develop the matchmaking app my sister and I dreamed up (and Nana shot down), she jumps at the chance. My grandmother is nothing if not opportunistic.
Of course, there’s a catch. She’ll only do it if Rory lets us matchmake him the old-fashioned way.
He’s going to say no.
Please God, let him say no.
The last thing I want to do is matchmake an entitled rich jerk...especially one who looks like sin and talks a good game.
***
Rory
I’ve screwed up in love a few times, but I never screw up in business. Mayberry Matchmakers has the idea for something amazing, and I have the money and the experience to make it come to life.
I should deny Nana Mayberry’s condition. If I let them matchmake me, it’ll be all over the news, and making headlines has never interested me…especially not after the personal betrayal that nearly broke me. But I’m having trouble caring about what I should do, because Bryn Mayberry is smart, snarky, and not the slightest bit impressed with me.
Actually, this may be Mayberry Matchmakers’ easiest job yet.
**Now includes the special prequel novella The Matchmaker's Mistake at the back of the book!**

About the authors
New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today bestselling author Denise Grover Swank was born in Kansas City, Missouri and lived in the area until she was nineteen. Then she became nomadic, living in five cities, four states and ten houses over the course of ten years before she moved back to her roots. She speaks English and smattering of Spanish and Chinese which she learned through an intensive Nick Jr. immersion period. Her hobbies include witty Facebook comments (in own her mind) and dancing in her kitchen with her children. (Quite badly if you believe her offspring.) Hidden talents include the gift of justification and the ability to drink massive amounts of caffeine and still fall asleep within two minutes. Her lack of the sense of smell allows her to perform many unspeakable tasks. She has six children and hasn’t lost her sanity. Or so she leads you to believe.

She lives in Asheville, NC. Her hobbies include herding her daughter toward less lethal activities, the aforementioned romcom fixation, and dreaming of having someone else clean her house.

- Reviewed in the United States on May 10, 2022Exactly the light and sexy read that I was looking for! I read this writing duo's first book a few years ago, and I remember thinking that I'd have to check them out again once they got into a writing groove... and dropped the third person perspective. So I was delighted when I sampled this and discovered that it's first person (major YAY), and that the vibe is right up my alley. The low angst, small town feel is just what I was in the mood for, and the sweetheart of hero sealed the deal. I loved how steadfast and determined he is to show that he is ALL IN, and the unique storyline held my interest with ease. It's got a definite instalove vibe, which proved to be troublesome for this couple... considering the fact that the heroine is contractually obligated to set the hero up with other women. What made the story work is the hero, plain and simple. He is not the typical arrogant billionaire; he's a genuinely nice guy who knows when a great woman is in front of him. Watching them figure things out was a lot of fun, and there was just enough tension to keep things interesting without overwhelming it with angst. I really enjoyed it.
The story follows Bryn, a woman who works at the family business - a matchmaking service. After a breakup left her reeling, Bryn has lost her passion for helping others find love, and her Nana's not-so-fun meddling certainly hasn't helped either. So when the town's famous new resident, tech billionaire Rory, comes in with a business proposition, Bryn isn't sure what to think. Somehow she gets wrangled into matchmaking the sexy stranger in exchange for his assistance in developing a dating app, and the situation quickly spirals out of control. Because Rory has decided that the only woman he's interested in dating is Bryn... and she's convinced that he'll lose interest as soon as he's matched up with someone else. As the two spend time together on and off the clock, they realize that they might just be a perfect match after all.
I went into this with low expectations, and it certainly exceeded them. I also kinda/sorta thought that I knew how the story would go, and it surprised me there as well. So this was a major win for me. Rory was really the best part; he wastes no time in falling for Bryn, and it was refreshing to see a guy who is SUCH a catch and also so ready for commitment. That paired perfectly with the small town vibes and the low angst, rom com feel. The only major friction is the matchmaking aspect, which could've gone horribly wrong - and didn't. I'm typically someone who avoids OW drama, and I was completely okay with the scenario; Bryn is the only one bringing the drama, lol. The matchmaking gives this a forbidden feel, but I also loved the lighthearted, sexy vibes. There's also a great cast of characters, who are involved in a way that didn't feel overwhelming to this series newbie. I can definitely tell that some of the love stories have already been told, but it left me wanting to read more - and that's always a great thing.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 15, 2022I really enjoyed Rory and Bryn’s love story. They are a bit of an odd match. Rory is a self-made tech billionaire who has relocated to small town Highland Hills, NC from New York City. Bryn is a third generation matchmaker who lives in Highland Hills and disillusioned with her family legacy. Rory wants to help Bryn and her sister with the AI for a matchmaking app they’re designing but as part of the deal he agrees for Bryn’s unpleasant grandmother to set him up on four matchmaker planned dates. The only problem is he is only interested in Bryn. On the way to their HEA there is growth for the characters especially for Bryn as she deals with her painful family and relationship baggage. The story included sweet moments, painful pasts, steamy scenes, quirky characters, supportive family and friends, character growth and missteps, heart clenches, fun, hilarity, healing, and love. I am excited to read more in this series.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 25, 2023He’s her next makeover project. She’s his next mistake.
Ivy
I’m Ivy Anders, popular romance novelist and small-town success story. Or so they say. I tell myself I’m only back in my hometown because my father had a heart attack, but that’s not the full story.
I can’t go home. And the longer I stay, the less I want to. I’m drawn in by my part-time job at Ziggy brewery, which I took to research for my next book, and by the mystery of Lou, my father’s stuffy lodger, a temporary transplant from New York.
Normally, I wouldn’t look twice at someone like Lou. He’s a rules guy, and I’ve never met a rule I didn’t want to break just for the fun of it. But it’s obvious he needs an intervention to avoid becoming an old man at thirty-four, and I am going to make that happen.
Lou
I came to Highland Hills to hide. It’s not every day a man loses his professional integrity, his fiancée, and his pet fish all in the same week.
The last thing I want is for smoking hot Ivy Anders to get it into her head that I should be her project. But she has, and it’s hard as hell to say no to her. Believe me, I’ve tried.
The more time we spend together, the more I realize that I have another problem on my hands: Ivy’s everything I’m not—young and wild and free—and she’s all I can think about.
Loved Lou and Ivy's story. If you love an age gap, grumpy sunshine then this book is for you. Lots of chemistry and fun banter between these too. Was immediately hooked within the 1st few pages. Highly recommend.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 11, 2022Rory has just relocated his company to the small town where Bryn manages her grandmother's matchmaking business. Bryn and her twin sister Holly have developed a matchmaking app and Rory wants to partner with them in getting it ready. In doing this he is forced to make a bargain with the devil- otherwise known as Bryn's grandmother. The things that woman can get up to are amazing and appalling. Despite the attraction growing with Bryn Rory is forced to go on four dates with Bryn attending. They are forced to keep the attraction building between them a secret. It becomes even more difficult when the dates the grandmother sets up for him blow up.
In the end they are happily together and we are introduced to members of Bryn's family who have upcoming books of their own. Rory is on of the sweetest book boyfriend ever. He is a peacemaker who makes friends easily and helps in every way he can to make their lives better. Bryn has family complications and a broken engagement to deal with but Rory is patient. Happiness for these two is long overdue and a sweet ending.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sweet and sexy
Matchmaking a Billionaire is a sweet and sexy read. Rory is a sweet, kind and super swoony man. Bryn is a serious, "tough cookie" but soft hearted beneath. Together they have lots of steamy, hot chemistry. So get a cold drink and your fan, pull up a comfy chair and read this book. Another wonderful cast of characters and I can't wait for the next book! Five stars!!

3.0 out of 5 stars okay
I want to say I really liked this book as it was well written and flowed well. Characters were nice enough and ….but it was just okay with the only angst being the gran who frankly needed taking down yet it never really happened. Just never seemed to rev up and go anywhere for me.
