Sensual western historical romance set in Texas in 1885
Second edition. New cover.

A widow determined to protect her son. A federal lawman haunted by love and danger. Can they find happiness amid secrets, mystery, and peril in the Texas Hill Country?

Six years ago, Beth Jeffers fled an abusive marriage, vowing never to let any man influence her son’s life. Now, she’s focused on raising Davey and helping her mother run a boarding house in 1885 Texas. The women in her family have never had luck with men, and Beth is determined to keep her heart safe—especially from Matt Petrov, the federal lawman whose return stirs feelings she thought long buried.

Federal Marshal Matt Petrov, known as Lone Wolf Peters, fell in love with Beth the first time he saw her, but she was another man’s wife. For six years, he’s kept his love hidden, waiting for a second chance. Now, fate has brought them together again, and Matt is willing to risk everything for happiness with Beth. But first, he must solve the mystery of his kinsman’s attempted murder and protect Beth’s son from danger. As secrets unravel and threats mount, Matt and Beth must trust each other to survive—and to claim the love they both deserve.

Perfect for readers who love sensual western historical romance, Texas Hill Country settings, second chance romance, protective lawman heroes, strong heroine stories, romantic suspense westerns, and uplifting tales of redemption and hope.

Review

Sizzling Hot Reviews said: Caroline Clemmons has written rich characters with issues we can relate to even today. With a full cast of supporting characters adding detail and humor, I was pulled in and didn't want to put Save Your Heart for Me down until finished.

Dark Divas Reviews:
Save Your Heart for Me by Caroline Clemmons is a well written and fast paced novel. Not everything is as it seems in this charming love story as Beth and Matt defy the odds, overcome their difficult pasts and find everlasting love.

Through a crazy twist of fate, Caroline Clemmons was not born on a Texas ranch. To make up for this tragic error, she writes about handsome cowboys, feisty ranch women, and scheming villains from a small office her family calls her pink cave. She and her Hero live in North Central Texas cowboy country where they ride herd on their rescued cats and dogs. The books she creates there have made her an Amazon bestselling author and won several awards.

I'm a sucker for cowboy stories, so I was eager to begin reading Caroline Clemmon's book. She had me by the end of the first page and kept me entralled throughout the book. Her wide range of characters from the anguished, lonely hero to a delightful little boy to a sour old maid, and everything in between, made for a delightful read. The love story betweem the hero and heroine moves slowly to a most satisfying ending. Ms. Clemmons is so good at description and character building, I could see the action play out in my mind's eye as I read it. Loved the story. Loved it.

I loved this story and it was a wonderful read by Caroline Clemmons. I really like books that do not have all the bad language, most of the time it is totally unnecessary.

SAVE YOUR HEART FOR ME-Caroline Clemmons, Author

Six years ago Beth Jeffers fled her abusive husband. Now, she wants nothing more than to protect her son Davey and help her mother operate a boarding house. The women in her family have no luck with men, and she has no intention of letting any man mar her son's life. Not even Matt Petrov, no matter how much her heart urges otherwise.
Federal Marshall Matt Petrov fell in love with Beth the first time he saw her. She was another man's wife, so he kept his longing to himself. But when he and the lovely widow cross paths again, he intends to seize his chance at happiness.
    ~*~*~*~
Beth makes a good heroine as a protective mother and loving daughter. Protecting her heart is another matter, though, when Matt reappears in her ordered life. Matt seeks a missing foreigner, one Ivan Romanovich, who holds a deed to a ranch given to him by the king of his country. In his search for the missing man, Matt once again crosses paths with the love of his life.
Beth believes she is still married, even though she's not heard from her husband for a long time. Matt knows the truth but withholds the information, fearing the revelation will destroy any hope he might harbor to win Beth over.
When Davey is kidnapped, the story builds to an exciting and very satisfying ending. In case you, dear reader, think Ms. Clemmons has concocted an unbelievable story, please read this reviewer's note.
Note: Several European noblemen came to western Texas in the late 1800s where they established ranches and businesses. One was the Earl of Aylesford who bought three sections of ranchland and built a "castle." His castle was not like those of his country, but it was nine rooms and a story and a half. He filled with guns and artillery of every sort. He led a storied life there, living like a king.

You will enjoy this short novel. It has more than one intriguing storyline that merge nicely into a well-developed plot.
