Max Seventeen: Empire Of Dirt Kindle Edition
Charlie is running. From the stinking Theta Empire, from its cruel Emperor, and from a terrifying red-haired enforcer.
Max is tired of running. Not only does she have family to contend with, but she seems to be in charge of a brothel and deep into a serious relationship. Her days of carefree thieving, whoring and pirating seem to be flying away from her.
Riley has stopped running. He’s left behind his old life, and he likes being a space pirate, and he loves Max. He can’t imagine anything coming between them—until Charlie turns up.
The starship Eurydice has given them a home, and freedom, and even family, but there’s a viper in the nest and new enemies rising in high places. With the deadly Firebrand still wreaking havoc across the galaxy, and old alliances being tested, can Max and Riley trust the crew any more?
And worse, can they even trust each other?
Perfect for fans of Firefly, Mad Max, and Black Sails, Max Seventeen: Empire Of Dirt follows the award-winning Max Seventeen and Max Seventeen: Firebrand.

About the author

I was born in the 1980s in Yorkshire and live in Essex, where I belong to a small pride of cats. I have a second cousin who made the Guinness Book of Records for brewing the world's strongest beer, and I once ran over myself with a Segway scooter. These two things are in no way related. I've worked in an airport, a lab, and various shops, but much prefer writing because me and mornings are definitely not the best of friends.
I sold my first book in 2005 and since then have published many award-winning paranormal and contemporary romances and light-hearted mysteries, including the popular Sophie Green series. My sci-fi action romance Max Seventeen won the Paranormal Romantic Novel of the Year from the Romantic Novelists Association in 2017. Under the pen name Cat Marsters I also had a successful career in erotic romance, winning an Epic award in 2010.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 3, 2020Once again a wild ride with Max, Riley and the gang. It was perfect ending our crew. Emotions ran high with Max and Riley, when he decides to claim the child he'd unwittingly conceived before the Big Freeze. And we all know how Max feels about kids. And her sister Priti is dealing with her own troubles involving a new boyfriend whose gone missing from the university.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 10, 2019I’ve just read this final book and it was a great ending to the Max Seventeen trilogy. I appreciate an author who pushes the envelope, who makes it messy, dangerous and emotional. I want a book to take me to a place outside the safe zone. So after reading this trilogy via KU I’ll be buying the entire series for my permanent library. This is a trilogy I will want to read again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing
Kate Johnson's final Max Seventeen novel is frankly awesome.
I've read the other two books in he trilogy, but now need to re-read them knowing what I know now I've finished book three. It's really hard to review without leaving MAJOR spoilers, but it ties up ends I didn't even know were loose in books 1&2 and with absolute assured flair.
This book is funny, gritty, violent, clever, full of double-triple-quadruple crosses, and has at its heart a truly wonderful, if utterly unconventional, love story. Highly recommended (but read books 1&2 first or you'll be very confused).

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect ending
I saw this book was coming out so I went back and read the first 2 books again. God I love Max! Who wouldn’t love to be a kick ass bitch who says what she thinks whenever to whoever. I read this book in 2 sittings, I just couldn’t put it down. It’s a roller coaster of deceit, Betrayal, love and discovery and I loved it. Laughed and she’d some tears too. If you haven’t discovered the wonderful Max Seventeen yet, do it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Splendid end to the trilogy!
Loved, loved this book. Kate Johnson does it again. Just when I thought Max and Riley's relationship couldn't get any deeper, it did. Twists, turns, more twists and an almighty shock, but they came through for each other. Immensely satisfying (though maybe not for the squeamish. Just saying).
