Murder in the Meadow: A humorous murder mystery (Pippa Parker Mysteries Book 4) Kindle Edition
Not in my back yard…
When Tony Green returns to his home village of Much Gadding, not everyone is happy – especially when he proposes a new housing development right in the middle of it. The village is divided, but that’s no reason to murder the poor man.
Or is it?
Pippa Parker has enough on her plate already, with a concert series to organise and the additional task of finding a suitable primary school for her son Freddie. She doesn’t have the time or the inclination to investigate a murder. But with the village in disarray and her business in danger, does she have a choice?
Murder in the Meadow is the fourth book in the Pippa Parker humorous mystery series, set in and around the English village of Much Gadding.

Liz Hedgecock grew up in London, England, did an English degree, and then took forever to start writing. After several years working in the National Health Service, some short stories crept into the world. A few even won prizes. Then the stories started to grow longer...
Now Liz travels between the nineteenth and twenty-first centuries, murdering people. To be fair, she does usually clean up after herself.
Liz’s reimaginings of Sherlock Holmes, her Pippa Parker cozy mystery series, and the Caster & Fleet Victorian mystery series (with Paula Harmon) are available in ebook and paperback.
Liz lives in Cheshire with her husband and two sons, and when she’s not writing or child-wrangling you can usually find her reading, messing about on Twitter, or cooing over stuff in museums and art galleries. That's her story, anyway, and she's sticking to it.

Pippa Parker is searching for a school for her son. On the way back from visiting a school she becomes involved in a murder. Once again she uncovers to truth leading to the arrest of the killer.
I would recommend this series and author to readers of family and friends relationships British mystery novels. 2024
- Reviewed in the United States on December 5, 2018Pippa Parker is a busy mum of two young children, trying to balance kids and life.
Interesting how the world over that is is always a struggle to manage child care, family, work and community life.
She is quite the local Sherlock, and is inadvertently nearby for the discovery of yet another body in the village.
She rings for an ambulance and runs to the local PC for assistance. Since she had been involved in murder inquiries previously, it seem much of the local village, and surrounding media, try every trick in the book to get her to dish details and insights.Frustratingly, even the supposed free advert for a concert series she is promoting turn into her being bugged about details for the murders.
With the babysitting help of her mother in law, and her efforts with the local PC, can they put things together in time to save the village meadows, the local school and PC substation?
read on to solve this cozy Yorkshire-ish mystery.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 11, 2018This is such a fun series! Pippa just wants to raise her kids and build her event business, but nasty little things like murder keep getting in her way. This time, an eco-builder's murder complicates Pippa's plans for Lady H's fundraising concerts and her attempts to get schooling choices settled for her son, Freddie.
I love the way Pippa continues to develop, starting as a wimpy, scared little girl in a woman's body, who would have been perfectly content to hide in her house forever, in Book 1 to a more confident mom contributing to the community. I can't wait for the next book, and I'm looking forward to checking the author's other series!
- Reviewed in the United States on March 6, 2019As usual for this fantastic author this fourth book in this cozy English mystery series is spot on. The characters are normal in ways most of us would see in our families yet with a unique quirkiness that one might expect in a small village. The mysteries can seem straightforward but take a left turn when you least expect it. Read the first book and get hooked.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 5, 2018Pippa Parker has her hands full taking care of her two young children while balancing a career as an event planner. When a housing developer returns to his hometown and proposes a new housing development, the last thing Pippa needed is to get involved in solving his murder.
Pippa seems to have a knack for getting herself knee-deep into situations and this time she is nearby when the body of developer Tony Green is found. There are a lot of potential suspects since many don’t want to see a housing development in their quaint village, even if it is a green project. Can she multi-task her life between raising the kids, finding a suitable primary school for her son, planning a concert series, and now investigating a murder?
This is the fourth book in the Pippa Parker Mystery series and is set in the charming English village of Much Gadding. The characters are lovable and quirky, the storyline has a nice flow with lots of twists and turns, and the lead character is a busy mom who can’t help but stick her nose in the middle of things.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 7, 2019I was thrilled to find another Pippa Parker mystery. Mostly, I enjoyed the look at a small English village and the ways education in England is handled. The murderer was a surprise although, looking back, the clues were there. A delightful cozy & I’m putting the other series by this author in my TBR list

3.0 out of 5 stars unexplained
I found the final scene far too contrived and coincidental. How did they know that the killer was going to be at the range. It’s a long jump from a golf tee to a complete set of clubs which nobody had seen her carrying.
