About the author
After reading English at 3 Universities and graduating from none of them, I set off travelling around the world with my wife, Ann, finally settling in South Africa, where we still live.
In 2013 Ann dropped a rather large speaker on my head and I came up with the idea for a detective series. DS Jason Smith was born. Smith, the first in the series was finished a few months later.
3 years and 8 DS Smith books later, Joffe Books wondered if I would be interested in working with them. As a self-published author, I agreed. However, we decided on a new series – the DC Harriet Taylor Cornwall series.
The Beekeeper was published and soon hit the number one spot in Australia. The second in the series, The Perfect Murder did just as well.
I continued to self-publish the Smith series and Unworthy hit the shelves in 2018 with amazing results. I therefore made the decision to self-publish The Backpacker which is book 3 in the Detective Harriet Taylor series and was published in July 2018.
After The Backpacker I had an idea for a totally new start to a series – a collaboration between the Smith and Harriet thrillers and The Enigma was born. It brings together the brooding, enigmatic Jason Smith and the more level-headed Harriet Taylor. Dropzone followed shortly after and the third in the series, The Raven Girl finished things off.
Miranda is something totally different. What was to be a stand-alone psychological thriller, it is a real departure from anything else I’ve written before. The ending begged for a sequel and, Mistress was born. Medusa completes the Miranda trilogy.
There are now 25 DS Smith books available with many more planned for the future.
I wanted a break from the crime thriller genre so I came up with The Divide - a macabre horror tale of survival, but crime will always be my true love.
A new series featuring Irishman, DI Liam O'Reilly begins with Blood on the Island, and that was followed by ten more mysteries set on the island of Guernsey.
When I'm not writing I love sailing, guitars and jumping out of perfectly good planes. I'm lucky to have a huge lake on my doorstep as well as a world-class skydiving drop zone.

Miranda is back with a vengeance. She's escaped Death Row and her need to murder is stronger than ever. Her list of victims grows longer with each hour that she is out and she doesn't hesitate to kill anyone who gets in her way or threatens her freedom.
But then she makes a mistake .... and Detective Henry Swales is right there to see. He's been personally following and trying to capture her for what seems like forever, but she's always managed to stay one .. or two.. steps ahead of the Detective.
Bur Miranda is surprised at where the band of law enforcement takes her and what they expect .
This has been a great trilogy. Highly recommend starting at the very beginning. This is well written with Miranda taking the reader from her last escape to her current situation. Miranda is a unique character, devoid of any lack of remorse for her own actions and an absence of empathy for others. It's action-packed from start to finish and the conclusion of this trilogy was unexpected and surprising.

5.0 out of 5 stars A brilliant read.
This is the third book in this trilogy following Miranda, a serial killer and just wow! I thought it was brilliantly written by Stewart Giles. At the beginning it starts with Miranda, now caught and being held in a building in London by D.S. Henry Swales and other interested parties. It flashes back and describes how Miranda escapes from Death Row in America and goes on another killing spree. The book has a very fitting ending which I loved. I really enjoyed this book but it’s not for the faint hearted! A great final book in this trilogy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent final book of the trilogy
I really liked the format for this series and read all three books in two days. Great ending although this certainly seems to preclude a book 4 but who knows with an escape artist like Miranda.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant end to another great series
For anyone that follows my blog knows I am a massive fan of Stewart’s and devour any book he writes. This one is no different as, after Jason Smith, I really enjoy the exploits of Miranda as she goes on her killing sprees across the world.
This book is done in chapter flashbacks again and follows on from just after book 2 where she has escaped from death row and is making her way down America to try and escape from Henry Swales, the policeman from books 1 and 2.
I really love the way Stewart does his flashbacks as we start off at the end of the story and then go back to just after Miranda’s escape without knowing anything in between. As the story progresses we learn little bits of information but are again sent forward and back in time so we know certain outcomes before how they came about.
It is a real shame that Stewart has ended this series but I understand why as there isn’t much more he can do with Miranda before it all becomes extremely silly and unbelievable.
Overall this has been a brilliant series of books told from a serial killer’s point of view

5.0 out of 5 stars Intriguing
I have read the whole series straight through. I just kept wanting to know what happened next even the ending I wonder.
A really good read which finds you turning the pages even when you know that you should be sleeping.
