My father was a career soldier, and I have lived many places--Germany, Texas, Louisiana, Georgia, New Jersey, and France, to name a few. I was ten when my father was stationed in France. We moved into an old house, rumored to have been occupied by Nazis during the war. In the basement was a treasure trove of books that I immediately began reading and have never stopped. I knew, almost immediately, that I wanted to be an author and set out on an adventure. And here I am, fifty... erm ... sixty years later, living the dream.

I live in the country with my husband, three dogs, and two cats. I am still seeking, still learning, and still adventuring ... if only in my books.

    While being in seclusion for 15 years after being stolen from her family after they were all killed young Melly is scared but determined now after being recused to find her sisters she thought were gone. Taking a chance with the cowboy who rescued her, they go on the hunt for the person responsible for her family's death and turns out the same man who killed this young cowboys wife. Together they endure hard times but seek out justice that's long overdue. Loved how this story played out. Highly recommended

    I found this book to have an interesting storyline that dealt with issues that actually happened during that time in history. It’s meant to be a story of love, loss, redemption and learning to trust and the author did a great job of touching them all without all the gory details and definitions. It allows the reader to fill in the blanks. Keep the stories coming, I’ll definitely be reading them all.

    This was such an odd book. It is very heavy. It starts out with a girl who is captive. As the book progressive you discover she is 30 years old and has been held for 15 years. This would leave a person pretty messed up. This whole book deals with very heavy themes of rape, murder, sex slavery and trauma. The problem is it just doesn't work in a short story and there were issues with the characters that were just too unbelievable and holes in the story. SPOILER( WHy in the world would Obadiah not take his diamonds? He wouldn't ride by and just leave them there. Melly would also have NEVER gone back to where she knew Boyd and his men where. She knew what they would do to her and she had no idea if Obadiah was even alive. WHy were they following his trail anyway, I thought they were going to Texas! And if she had touched that lace one more time I was going to scream)Spoiler over.
    Over all a story that is just not believable with a cool setting. It just felt like something awful was going to happen threw the whole thing and everything turns out to sparkly and sunshiny in the end. This was a short story. Chaste with not sex scenes.
