Memories and Mistletoe: A Small Town Christmas Novel Kindle Edition
Following the death of her parents, Madison Willis moved back to Mistletoe, Colorado, to help run the successful bakery her family co-owned with longtime friends Millie and Mike Andrews. The recipe for the bakery’s success had always been a mixture of community and tradition, with a heaping scoop of love thrown in. When the simple way of life in Mistletoe is threatened by big city developers, Madison rolls up her sleeves to protect the bakery and her idyllic childhood town. As if she didn’t have enough on her plate fighting developers, she faces another foe in Hunter Andrews, the dreamy boy she crushed on as a youngster. He’s game to sell. She’s determined to stay. Can an old-fashioned Christmas change his mind?
Hot shot lawyer Hunter Andrews breezes into Mistletoe hoping to take his mother back to Denver and leave behind small-town life. He’s certain she’ll be happier at the retirement home he picked out, where she would be waited on hand and foot, rather than getting up at four a.m. to bake bread. The last thing he expects is to find Madison Willis all grown up and beautiful…and ready for battle. When the bakery’s treasured recipe book goes missing, Hunter has to decide if he’ll use his skills to fight for what he wants or for what’s right.
Pitted against each other, Madison and Hunter face a bigger foe—gentrification. If they can’t work together, they will lose everything. Will they fight side-by-side to save the town? Will a kiss under the mistletoe be all they need to fall in love?

- Reviewed in the United States on November 18, 2021Coming back home! This is about Hunter and Madison. They have both known each other since they were young, he went off to be a lawyer, but now is visiting more because of his father’s recent passing and wanting to make sure that his mom is taken care of. Madison returned when her father passed and shortly after so did her mom, leaving her with no one but half of the bakery and Millie, Hunter’s mom.
The story is sweet as Hunter originally thinks it is best for him to take his mom with him so that he can see of her while he keeps his job, but Millie does not seem convinced. Madison and Hunter connect as they start to help the town out, but someone is insistent that they should sell the bakery. Could these two help each other out or is Hunter going to be stubborn and do what he thinks is right without considering the feelings of others?
- Reviewed in the United States on November 15, 2021After her parent’s passed away Madison returns to her hometown to help out at the bakery that they were partners in with Hunter’s mother Millie. She never realized how much she missed her hometown until she returned, and she will do anything she can to protect their lifestyle both from developers who want to modernize it and Hunter.
Hunter left town to pursue his dream of becoming a lawyer however he wants to make both her life and his life easier by having her sell her share in the bakery and leave town so that she can be near him. He certainly never expected to develop feelings for Madison which would have him reconsidering what is best for the town and his mother.
This is a heartwarming story about love and family. I had my doubts about Hunter but in the end he managed to redeem himself and proved that he and Madison belonged together.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 24, 2021Small hometown businesses, people love the feel of hometown feel. Ow there are big city businesses trying to move in, buy people out, what are people to do. Great story, what to do. Loved it❤️
- Reviewed in the United States on November 4, 2021I loved it. Sparks fly between Hunter and Madison from the very start. It is just a matter of time before the attraction between them becomes apparent.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 6, 2021Small town, close family and friends, big business trying to take over. Kelly has kept you on your toes. Merry Christmas 🎄
- Reviewed in the United States on November 8, 2021I like small town Christmas romances. I like Kelly Collins work. This book waa not one of my favorites. It didn't even feel like a Kelly Collins book to me.
I liked Jacob and Millie. Hunter started out being a character that I didn't like. Hunter and Madison seemed to have no chemistry. Their relationship, their attraction had no depth to it.
I was surprised at the level of corruption in the town of Mistletoe. The town council, the hotel, and even the police. What was holiday related about any of that? The corporate guy, Marvin was a thief. Not of the bad guys in this book seemed to suffer and consequences for their behavior.
This book gave me a feeling of being all over the place. The law office the bakery, the loss of her parents and his father, Madison living with his mother, the recipe book, the legal maneuvers, the dissatisfaction with careers, etc.
I didn't feel happy or satisfied when I reached the end. It wasn't so much that it was hard to keep up with the changes going on, it was more that so much of what was going on didn't connect for me. Why was it that NO ONE suffered and repercussions for their not only bad, but criminal behavior? How were Hunter and Madison going to manage everything going forward? Why did these two people have no friends?
I am going with 2.5 stars. It was a struggle for me to read, and sad to say, I just didn't enjoy it. I would honestly recommend that you read the book and form your own opinion.
I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

“Mom, I’m a lawyer,” he began. “I know that.” She giggled. “You remind me at least once each visit.” “Ouch,” Madison smiled. “Oldest profession known to man,” Millie kidded. “Mom, no, that’s prostitution.” “Almost the same,” she teased.
The one thing she’d learned long ago was that you didn’t argue with your parents. They always won, and if they didn’t, they brought up some embarrassing moment they shared with a crowd as payback.
“You’re not curious?” “Well, of course, I am, but I’m older and more experienced at hiding it.”
My Review:
I found this to be an easy to fall into, sweet, relatable, and gentle holiday standalone featuring everyday normal, hard-working, and lovable people. The storylines were well balanced with Ms. Collin’s trademark humor, snark, and profoundly perceptive observations, as well as endearing characters struggling with relevant issues common to many communities. It was a quick and enjoyable read that smoothly segued between the characters. I always enjoy tumbling into a Kelly Collins tale, they are entertaining while easy to pause and then pick right back up again.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 4, 2021Hunter’s big city, hotshot attitude rubs Madison and her small-town values the wrong way. The sparks are zinging around them from the moment the book opens. Underneath all their sniping and snarking, you can see there’s still the connection from a childhood of growing up together. However, it’s even odds if all that shared history can overcome their present-day opinions. It’s easy to make me cry over sad things. To make me cry happy tears takes a bit more effort, a bit more skill, but that’s exactly what the author was able to achieve with this sweet holiday story. It’s all about opening your mind and heart and striving for the things you value. And for Hunter and Madison to learn that sometimes the things you value aren’t what you thought they were.

4.0 out of 5 stars Love Kelly Collins
However this isn't her best, seems a little rushed and the villain Marvin Cox never gets his come upence. The having presents on Christmas Eve never find of that idea appealing. I Like Hunter, Jacob,Madison and Millie the characters are great but the storyline doesn't really come together.

3.0 out of 5 stars HEA
Loved this small town independent story.it's not original I have read a storyline similar to this one (but the mum died in other story) but the storyline was the same.but Kelly Collins is really good at small town folk helping each other and with a sweet slow burn romance ( no ex trying to break them up hate them kind) just a evil guy trying to buy the business in any way he can.my only problem is this ended fast.
