And why wont they go away?

About the author

Thomas S. Flowers is an Operation Iraqi Freedom veteran who loves scary movies, BBQ, and coffee. Ever since reading Remarque’s "All Quiet on the Western Front" and Stephen King’s "Salem’s Lot" he has inspired to write deeply disturbing things that relate to both war and horror, from the paranormal to gory zombie infested worlds, to even dabbling in vampiric historical fiction. Readers can expect to find rich characters, realistic historical settings, and mind-altering horror.
Be sure to check out his PLANET of the DEAD series and The Last Hellfighter, both of which have been best-sellers on Amazon's Top 100 lists for Apocalyptic Fiction and African American Horror respectively.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 30, 2016In the Blue Ridge Mountains there is a section of a hamlet called The Noke by the locals. A coal refinery caused pollution and smog along with reports of disappearances. Felines multiplied at their normal rate without being spayed or neutered and the SPCA has an abundance of work to do. It has even been said that the ratio of felines to humans is 10:1. That is a lot of Purr Power.
Jill Cook and her husband, Bill still live in the Noke as like so many others they don't have anywhere else to go. He loves his baseball team and she loves her old book which features a skunk from space.
The author interjects some matrimonial humor to break up this tense and horrific story. I admit to having a LOL moment when he was discussing how shyness eventually disappears from a marriage! Still chuckling over parts of that one.
An intense and scary book which packs a punch in a few pages.
Highly recommended.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 1, 2016I've read a lot of Thomas Flowers' work, and this is different from anything else he's written. Even the style is different. Bringing in stylistic elements of Poe, Lovecraft, and even Dennis Etchison, this story constantly keeps the careful reader on guard. Oh, yeah... there are cats. Angry, hungry cats. The only complaint I have is that this short story is too short. This is a universe that needs to be revisited and expanded. Short, gruesome and to the point, 'Apocalypse Meow' is a fun little tale about some not-so-fun little tails.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 3, 2017Apocalypse Meow is a romp of a shot tale. Charming and gross at the same time, reminding me of (and would fit perfect in) Tales From the Darkside/ Tales From the Crypt.
