The Midwest War: The Revelations of Oriceran (Midwest Magic Chronicles Book 4) Kindle Edition
The inevitable has finally come: War.
The Arachnids, controlled by the magically insane Widow, make their move for the Jewel of Deception, knowing the Jewel, combined with the music box, can save the lost villagers of Dominion from the world in between.
Or, it can release the mad king Arazon and his followers.
If released, Arazon and the Widow's reign of terror will last until both Earth and Oriceran are nothing but ashes.
In order to stop them, Maria Apple and the rest of the wanderers must band together and fight.
Even if it means they'll die trying.

About the authors
Okay, I'm a late bloomer who's a big DC comics fan and spent my childhood summers on the Jersey shore in the U.S. but have had a weird wanderlust to live in different parts of America ever since. That's enough about me. Need to feel inspired today? Looking for something to make you root for an ordinary hero? I'm all about that in everything I write.
I love a good tale that makes me wonder about things and I love a story even more that leaves me feeling inspired or like I'm capable of doing more than I realized. That's my goal with everything I've ever written. Some of the stories I tell involve twisting, turning thrillers and others have a lot of magic.
There's something to be said for getting lost in another world and coming out the other side feeling a little better about yourself or the possibilities in front of you. That's basically the best part of life in a nutshell, no matter what kind of story I'm setting out to tell.
Thank you for checking out my stories! There's more at www.marthacarr.com.
Join us on Facebook to hear about new books, giveaways, an idea rolling around about a universe-wide scavenger hunt at the end of the year and more. If you like the series please leave a review and send me a note. More adventures to follow - and thanks for sticking with me.
Michael Anderle (ok, weird talking about myself in the 3rd person) (1967-Hopefully a long time from NOW) was born in Houston, Tx. A very curious child, he got into trouble - a lot. What to do with an inquisitive mind when he was grounded? Read!
Ok, done with all of that 3rd person stuff.
In the first 20 years, I mostly read Science Fiction and Fantasy. In the last 10 years I have enjoyed Urban Fantasy and Military Fiction. With this background, I've been blessed with creating The Kurtherian Gambit series, a well-selling, and fan loved, collection of stories.
The fans have propelled these stories beyond my wildest imagination and they should get all of the credit for sharing with friends, family and occasionally the random person on the street. They are fantastic!
Flint Maxwell was born and raised in Northeast Ohio and still lives there today with his beautiful wife, daughter, son, and their four best animal friends.
He primarily writes horror fiction, but has been known to dabble in many different genres.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 1, 2019So I kind of held back a bit on the reviews for some of the books in the Midwest series. I couldn't figure out why. I mean, the characters are great, the use of the magics in Oriceran was well done, the nod to the Leira Berens series is awesome, and the suspense is fantastic. All one can hope for in a fantasy series. Then I realized my hangup... I absolutely, completely, and without reservation HATE spiders! Now, how unfair would it be for me to hold back my praise because of MY problem with a little arachnophobia? That, I think, would be all kinds of wrong. Especially considering how well Maxwell executes and does an excellent job wrapping up the whole series. I recommend this series just as much as I fully recommend all of the Oriceran series I have read (chronologically) so far. Enjoy!
- Reviewed in the United States on July 1, 2024I enjoyed all four books of the Oriceran Midwest Magic Chronicles. Each of the books are filled with the adventures of Maria, Sherlock, Gramps and their extended family and friends. Good versus evil in this tale of friendship and love against all odds.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 16, 2018Kindle Unlimited, had been reading all the Oriceran books {pronounced Or-i-sar-in}, Martha Carr seems to be co-writer in all of them, different characters/series but couldn't get in to all of them. I've just been listing the 2 I actually still read now. The ones that have listing for every book out, yes have read all of them and keep following those. The reason, for me personally, is because the best could give the other series were a 3 rating, while Midwest Magic and The Leira Chronicles are 4 1/2 at worst, 5 best. The others just don't resonate or something with me, but as have said before, reviewer opinion, likes/dislikes vary. I own ALL the Leira ones, and might look in to getting Midwest ones, just that seems every other book is 4 then back up to 5, so bit annoyed, plus when can notice typos, including the HOW did proofer/whoever NOT notice those... The part about Arazon came off, for example, as just getting through that part, but not really making a lot of sense about just what was going on. If there is another one and it's iffy rating, will not be from 5 to 4, will be 4 to 3 or under.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 14, 2022What a fantastic ending to the series (for now I hope). The arachnids made my skin crawl every time they applying the series. Sherlock is still my favorite. The play between him and Gel bus is hilarious. Thank you very much for a wonderful final book. I was on the edge of my seat throughout the book. I look forward to seeing what awaits both in the next installment (fingers crossed) with this wonderful family. I am also looking to reading your other books. Thanks again.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 1, 2021I have read quite a few of the Martha Carr Oriceran series of tales and this series was fantastic. Sheldon was one of my favorite characters, along with Maria's friends. For just human beings they were really great. But one of the reasons I liked this series is because several of the characters mentioned are from the original series.
I have read more books of this fantastic place Oriceran, than any other fantasy series an I am wanting more.
Flint is a really great author, and a perfect addition to Martha and Michaels group. I hope he writes more of these books.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 2, 2021It took a while, but it was worth it in the end. Do I think this story could have been told in less than 4 books, yes. - Reviewed in the United States on January 11, 2018Being a great fan of Michael Anderle I read all that he publishes. (Kudos to MA). This book had more conversations with a dog than action and suspense. The "war" lasted quickly. The chatter with the dog filled 4 books. Young author. YA audience, maybe?. Just didn't like the story. 3 stars because big fan of Martha Carr's Ocerian books. Not this author. Flint needs more life experience to write what a mature person would read.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 27, 2021The final book in the series holds so much adventure that it was almost impossible to put it down. All our heros come into their own but it is a tough journey. Read this series!

4.0 out of 5 stars Higher expectations 🌻
A fun young adult book series where the heroine is constantly growing and rising to the challenges she is forced to face. Enjoyed this series, even with a few hiccups while I wish some things were a bit different, it had so much potential, the ending was satisfactory.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nicely done
So Maria and her Wanderers definerly had their work cut for them and I would say the story was rather predictable from the meeting in the ice cream store till just before the big battle. The journey was all part of the fun and looking forward to seeing were the next arc goes.

5.0 out of 5 stars 👍
Das letzte Buch ist ist wirklich gut, aber am Ende kommt das Ende dann doch unerwartet schnell, falls das Sinn macht.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent!
Wow! This final book in the Midwest Magic Chronicles series, another awesome series in the Oriceran mega series books, was excellent.
I loved the ending, in fact, I loved the whole series, just like ALL the Oriceran stories, long may they last. These should be made into a TV series. Even though I prefer reading to watching tv, for those that don't, this would provide the perfect intro to an incredible series.
