Review: I was so excited when I found out book 3 was Alec's. My favorite Texas Ranger. We first met him in book 2 when he was working with Chandler to catch a serial killer. Kennedy has done it yet again and keeps you on the edge of your seat waiting to see what will happen next, all while guessing who the killer is. I didn't want to stop once I started this book. . Rae has lost everyone she has ever loved. They all end up dead. So to save everyone, she avoids any type of relationship, living a lonely life. . Alec is a Texas Ranger who loves what he does and has vowed to uphold the law. He is such a caring and broken man, yet strong fighting for the innocent. . Rae and Alec met when they were 13. They were best friends and gradually became more. They planned a life together until one day Alec left with only a note in her locker and no explantion as to why. Two decades later, Rae is in desperate need of help when she ends up behind bars. Alec is the only one she has left to call. When Alec comes to her rescue he gets way more than he bargained for. These two had such chemistry and a connection that was undeniable. Alec is a possessive, protective dirty talker and he knows how to light your kindle on fire. Rae is a strong woman with so much courage where is matters. She sacrifices so much. I loved these two, with how they balanced each other. They were so good for each other. As secrets are revealed you will constantly be guessing who you think is after them. Alec calls in his friend Charlie who is a FBI hacker to help him catch the killer terrorizing Rae. I am so excited that Charlie, the tattooed and pierced bad boy, will be getting his own book! I also loved the update on Chandler and Ellie. If you enjoy romantic suspense, don't miss this series!

Rae lives a lonely life and keeps to herself to protect the people around her. When Rae is arrested for a crime she didn’t commit, the only person she can think to help her is Alec Bronson, Texas Ranger, and the man who broke her heart years ago. Alec hadn’t heard from Rae since he left Sweetcreek without a word. I loved Alec’s alpha male side and how protective he was of Rae. Both were such well developed and great characters. Their story is filled with suspense, murder, twists, surprises and romance. A definite must read!

This is one you really need to read.

    So I liked this story but not as much as the first two books. I also listened to this book and I wasn't thrilled with the female narrator. Also I didn't like the unnecessary secrets that were being kept. I don't mind angst as long as it's not stupid secrets that I figured out right away(which this kind of fell in to that category) however I did like I didn't know who the bad guy was until it was revealed. Overall this one was just ok for me

    Rae and Alec were best friends growing up, Rae was the sunshine Alec needed, and Alec was her protection and gave some much needed confidence to a young Rae. When he walked away after high school, I had so many questions for the way this was done, however, I got my answers as the story progressed. ⁣

    What happened or is happening should I say to Rae since Alec left is heartbreaking, causing her to basically isolate herself from anyone she loved, her life as she knew it was over, but I loved how she didn’t let this stop her from helping others.⁣

    Alec Bronson....good lord ALEC! Wow! Lol he was protective to a point of being over protective (loved Charlie’s nickname for him!) the reasons for him leaving and not accepting the young love Alec and Rae had created in high school was heart-rending to hear, both had overcome a great deal to be where they were today, sacrificing true love on the way⁣.

    With Rae running out of options, she calls the only man who could help, Texas Ranger Alec Bronson, would he help considering the way he left? did he still have feelings for her like she did for him? Would he be safe in helping her?⁣

    The mystery of what & why Rae’s life is as it is was distressing to read at times, however this story consumed me from start to finish, it was highly suspenseful, a truly enthralling, entertaining read. ⁣

    Alec’s friend Charlie brought some lighthearted moments (I CAN’T WAIT FOR HIS BOOK!) the epilogues were perfect, this is definitely one for the keeper shelf ❤️📚⁣

    I love how I feel connected to all the characters Alec is a great guy who worried so much about being bad he gave up everything he cared about. Rae I loved she had so much going on but still thought about others more then herself.

    The romance I loved in this series because everyone there are instant sparks but the character take the time to get to know each other.

    Then there are the mystery thriller plot going on I love the fact that though we get to see from the pov of the killer I have never once got it right it's always a twist at the end and I love being surprised like that.

    Only thing I was upset about is having to wait for Charles story something tells me in going to love it
