Monk's Bride (The Kincaids Book 5) Kindle Edition

4.6 out of 5 stars 125 ratings

A destitute widow on the run. A reformed con man ready to fight for love. Can danger and devotion forge a new family in Kincaid Springs?

Betsie Galloway Hirsch has risked everything to escape Memphis with her young son after her late husband’s gambling debts put them in grave danger. Seeking refuge in Kincaid Springs with her mother, Betsie hopes for a safe haven at last. But the threats from her past are never far behind.

Michael “Monk” Magonagle has spent years turning his life around and now finds himself drawn to Betsie and her son. As danger closes in, Monk is determined to protect Betsie—even if it means confronting violence he’s long avoided. With the support of the Kincaid family, Monk prepares to face the enemy threatening Betsie’s new life.

As peril mounts, Betsie and Monk must trust each other and their growing feelings. Will they find the strength to overcome the shadows of the past and build a future together, or will danger claim their chance at happiness?

Perfect for readers who love western historical romance, romantic suspense westerns, redemption romance, found family stories, strong heroine tales, protective hero romance, and Texas frontier love stories.

Through a crazy twist of fate, Caroline Clemmons was not born on a Texas ranch. To make up for this tragic error, she writes about handsome cowboys, feisty ranch women, and scheming villains from a small office her family calls her pink cave. She and her Hero live in North Central Texas cowboy country where they ride herd on their rescued cats and dogs. The books she creates there have made her an Amazon bestselling author and won several awards.

Betsie, and her little boy, Liam ran from the bad guys where they lived, and went to the safety of her Mother's home in Texas, where they met Monk. He took them after a couple mishaps, to her Mams home, they were doing good and the bad men found them. Monk and her family got rid the bad guys. Thank you, Caroline Clemmons.

Monk finally has his own HEA! Monk was such a great character in The Most Unsuitable Husband that I'm happy to see him fall in love. Even better I got to visit with familiar characters and allow their stories to continue through this book. I would recommend reading the other books in the series (or at least book 2) before reading this one. Such a fun read and glad the author sent me a copy so I could leave an honest review of this book.
