My Midnight Moonlight Valentine (Vampire’s Romance) Kindle Edition

4.5 out of 5 stars 380 ratings

Druella Monroe is a vampire, but she hasn’t been one for long. Ever since her rebirth a year ago, she’s done her best to live a quiet, peaceful life as an art conservator and restorationist at The National Gallery of Art. All she wants is to blend in with the humans. However that all gets thrown out the window one night while hunting in Great Falls Park, where Druella comes across a naked vampire with no memory of how he got there, or the last century for that matter. All he seems to be sure of is that she is his soulmate…and he won’t leave without her.

Is it even remotely possible for JJ McAvoy to write a book that DOESN'T blow me out of the water?! I am an avid reader, especially of the darker side of romance. But loving the dark side doesn't necessarily make me a fan of the paranormal. I don't hate it, but I'm not likely to read it, only indulging here and there when I find an author that I just love. JJ McAvoy is beyond that for me, she truly is one of my very VERY favorite so I knew I wouldn't be passing this one up. ( I think I could probably read her grocery list and be entertained, that's how much I love her writing. It still shocks me that she somehow is not as well known as she should be.) I imagine that its also not a truly easy thing to write vampire romance because it seems to me people will either love it or hate it, think it's amazing or think it's corny. I'm my opinion though, she could not have made this book any better. This one shoots you to the stars at the speed of light! It truly is a celestial rollercoaster from start to finish!
Let me just tell you what I LOVE about it! I LOVE the range of emotions so spread out over this tale! At times you may be a bit scared or apprehensive, some actions may even make you somewhat angry, others I found myself literally chuckling out loud in the middle of night nearly waking my sleeping husband lying next to me because of the wit of some of these joksters (flying pigs had me cracking up) and lastly my heart was pounding at times because I could so deeply feel the comittment , loyalty and love coming from Theaseus. He is just...(fan my face!) I always thoroughly enjoy the secondary characters in McAvoy's books just as much as the primary ones. They ALWAYS leave such an impression I won't soon forget. It's ALL OF THESE THINGS that make me love her books...because I know, without even a smallest doubt, that when I start a JJ McAvoy read I will be lost in another world for hours. Her ability to ensnare and seduce her readers into another world is just unparalleled! She does such an AMAZING job of transporting you to another city, another land, another time zone. She crafts her words in such a way that it does not feel like I'm reading...It feels like I'm there. Feeling, seeing, smelling, hearing all of the adventure around me. Reading one of her books, for me, is like sinking into warm nap. It has the feeling of familiarity and I know it will be a while before I return to the real real world. The only problem? When I've reached the end and my journey is thru...I just hate leaving these characters and their lives behind! And so, I tip my glass to you Ms. mcAvoy, truly THANK YOU for another fabulous adventure and please never stop spinning your tales.
Needless to say, I'll be impatiently waiting for the installment!

The story constantly kept you on your toes! You had no idea where it was going to go. The heroine’s character was strong, independent, intelligent., and beautiful. The Hero was my favorite kind strong Alpha male that would do anything for his partner. His family are so entertaining and I’m looking forward to getting to know them more as they try to figure out the great mysteries that are happening around them. This is a great start to the new series. Can’t wait for the next book.

This book has been in my kindle library for god knows how long. I decided to pick this up when I was in a really bad reading slump (All you’ll ever be). I was mostly done with the book (only a couple pages left) and had to call it quits. I just couldn’t get in to.

Not gonna lie, at first I wasn’t really liking this book. It wasn’t the author (I love J.j. McAvoy with everything in me) and it wasn’t the book. I went into it distracted and coming out a really bad and long reading slump. And life was life-ing the hell out of me.

Honestl, I didn’t do the beginning any justice by coming in with a chaotic mind. However towards the middle and the end I couldn’t put it down. I actually had to force my self to so I could savor it.

I loved how relatable Dru was. She asked the same questions and acted the exact same way I would expect someone in her position to. Loved how I instantly knew she was a black woman.

Theseus was so annoyingly sweet and cute. Exactly how I feel a love struck boyfriend would act. All lovey dovey, always saying the most romantic things, and can’t keep his hands to himself.

All in all I really liked this book. Looking forward to continuing the series.

Omg, I’m just realizing now that I never actually post my review of this post (arrrrg) anyway here u go.

When I recieve this book I was quite hesitant, not knowing what to expect. From the first word I was hook and literally eat that book in less than a day. And the truth is I went back to that book at least two times already and I’m always checking to see when part 2 is coming (before i knew the release date).

But let get into it. My midnight moonlight valentine is the story of Druela Monroe a witch turned vampire with no memory and then enter Theseus an old vampire also with no memory but one.... as the story unfold The mystery behind who Druela became ticker and ticker and instead of answers there is just more questions.

The building mystery and thriller was well done and keep me on my toes. They are so many part I was just up giving Druela a standing ovation and certain part my frustration with her made me want to slap her head. I can’t wait for part two because Druela Monroe did left me hanging.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book... It is a J.J. McAvoy book.
Despite it being her first supernatural book, it read well and the characters were intriguing, funny and enjoyable.
I liked how Druella was self aware of the typical romance heroine, but slightly disappointed that this didn't stop her from falling into the same pigeon hole.

**I would love for just once for a character to accept their forever mate in the beginning and move onto the dramatic twists and turns. Personally, I find it tedious when heroines repeatedly rejects the hero's (and vice versa) declarations of love just to succumb to it later on.**

The progression and descriptions in this book are fantastic, I love the detail J.J. has gone into about historical art and culture.
However, I feel like a key point of most supernatural stories is how does a normal human become a supernatural creature. Unfortunately this isn't told in this story, or at least in this book series so far, despite being talked about repeatedly.

This book ends on a cliff hanger but it's a great cliff hanger. Very excited for the next book, just got to wait for 2021.

If you enjoy the supernatural genre I would recommend this book.

He has come to find his mate, she wants to be left alone.... But a series of events is a cover. What is this truth. What will they discover. Jumping from place to place and landing with his vampire family should answer things or just open up doors for further questioning....

This was my first paranormal book per say and it was intense yet oddly I couldn’t stop reading. The plot twist was unexpected and I’m rushing to the next book in the series. It was exceptionally written and the character developments were intriguing. The cliff hanger had me in choke hold but it was worth it. The author did a great job. Definitely should be added to peoples reading lists!

5.0 out of 5 stars JJ MACVOY !! What a star you are!!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on May 4, 2020
This book like all her others is a true work of art!!
The world and characters are obviously very different from her others, as this is a totally different type of story !
But in true JJ style the story and characters come to life!
I have yet again fallen for JJ’s characters.
The only flaw this book has like many others with more than one book to complete the story, is the cliffhanger !
So now I’m foaming at the mouth and waiting to sink my teeth into the next book!!!

Thank you JJ Macovy for yer another fabulous and awesome book!!!

It’s actually amazing. I am so shocked I liked this vampire romance but it’s incredibly well written and detailed even netter than my teenaged favourite twilight saga. This is beyond fantastic and I am impatiently waiting for the next book!!!!!
