My Brother's Billionaire Best Friend (Billionaire Collection Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.5 out of 5 stars 7,928 ratings

Mabel “Maybe” Willis died a virgin at the very young age of twenty-four.
She leaves behind her parents, Betty and Bruce, her brother, Evan, a laptop filled with one too many Jason Momoa memes, and a Kindle library with more books than one human being could ever finish in a lifetime.
Cause of death: A text message.

Okay. So, I didn’t die.
But I may as well have.

One minute, I’m a woman trying to find her way in the world, and the next, I’m the sender of
six of the most embarrassing text messages that have ever been sent in the history of time—or the cell phone. Whatever.

We’re talking code red, send a flipping mayday, the apocalypse is coming kind of texts.

And I didn’t just send them to some random person I’ll never see again.
No. That would be too easy.

I sent them to
Milo Ives.

The man who played a starring role in all of my teenage fantasies, and my brother’s lifelong best friend.
And, boy oh boy, has he grown up.
He’s hard-bodied, blue-eyed, jawline-of-stone handsome, crazy successful, and has more money in his bank account than my brain can fathom.

Deflower me, please? I said.
Yeah. Send help.

Loved it!
24 years old Maybe Willis returned to New York after graduating from Stanford and while she's looking for a job at one of the city's publishing houses, she works at her parents, Betty and Bruce Willis, flower shop. Yes, her father's name is BRUCE WILLIS! which makes a lot of tourists come to the store and look for the King of Action. LOL "I can not believe Bruce Willis owns a floral shop." Oh, here we go ... "Is he ... uh ... is he here?" He asks, and my mom tilts her head to the side. "Is who here?" "Bruce Willis." The man stutters over his words. "I'm ... I'd love to get a picture with him." ...... "He's not here." I busy myself filling the cash register with fresh paper. "He's in LA. Shooting Die Hard 9. " The man's eyes light up with equal parts confusion and excitation. "There's going to be a Die Hard 9?" "Yep. Die ... Hardest." Maybe was in love with 30-years-old Milo Ives, her brother's best friend, ever since she was 11 years old - so, when one day Milo comes to order flowers for his mother, she is so shocked to see him again that she can barely speek... Only then she realize that he didn't recognize her! And no, she doesn't correct him... LOL Milo receives a phone call from his best friend and business partner, Evan, who asks him to use his contacts to help his sister get a job interview at a publishing house, and he doesn't hesitate to help. Milo didn't see Maybe in years, but he never forgot the cute little girl she was. When he discover that Maybe works at the flower shop, he realize that the hot girl he saw is no longer the little girl he remembers - and she's definitely off limits!! And so, the two become just friends - until other feelings begin to develop between them... First of all, a little warning from me - Do not read this book next to other people. You will find yourself laughing so loud, with embarrassing snoring, that will make you look like you've completely lost it. So don't do that! LOL This is not my first book by Max and Monroe, but without a doubt - it's the most successful of them all!!! Seriously, it was so funny! I can't count how many times I wiped tears of laughter. Maybe is one of the coolest characters, one I would definitely like to be best friends with. Milo is a typical sexy billionaire businessman. Sweet, sexy and romantic. As soon as I started the book, I couldn't stop. Thank God my husband was abroad and I didn't have other plans, because I couldn't raise my head from my Kindle until I got to the words: THE END!

Max Monroe has written numerous romantic comedies that have been top favorites of mine so whenever I see they have a new book coming out I always purchase it. Now, while I don't tend to read them right away (I have to wait for the perfect mood- a mood that dictates HUMOR is a must at the time) I do have a special folder for their novels so when I feel like reading it I can. I do so by finding out which trope will be best for me at the moment (i.e. I was in the mood for a brothers best friend romance so I started this one). That being said, Milo and Maybe's book is a fun, sassy, and hilarious read! This is exactly what I was expecting and the duo satiated my need in spades. Maybe (that's the name of our HEROINE) is definitely a character one could consider a potential BFF and I connected with her from the start. I mean those text messages and her inexperience in all things sex and dating had me in stitches! Milo- what a guy! Being a billionaire hasn't gone to his head in the least. He's charming, level headed, and a total sweetheart! When you put them both together you can only imagine the sparks that fly! It's beautiful- especially the end!

Now, while it's clear I really loved the characters and enjoyed the book (4 stars is good) there were a few things that didn't jive with me. First and foremast, the relationship aspect was slow. The two didn't really come together as a couple until about 80% so watching and waiting for it to happen was a little tiresome. I mean, I knew they would end up together (hello, this is a romance!) but the pace of it happening was really drawn out. This would have worked if there was angst within their story but there wasn't.

Another thing that I didn't quite care for was how EASY it was for Maybe to get a job at one of the biggest publishing houses in the world. The authors stressed how she sent out hundreds of resumes with no response but when Milo the billionaire swooped in she had it in her hands. Ladies and gents, real life isn't like this. Had she done it all on her own and faced a few hurdles along the way it would have been much more believable (and respectable). I like my books to feel somewhat realistic and I have to say, this aspect wasn't. Even more, it sort of grinds my gears because "prince charming" once again steps in and wipes away all problems for the damsel in distress... As per usual in romances. For me, it just gets old after a while.

Other than these two minor things (and I truly mean MINOR as they didn't take away from my overall enjoyment of the story) I did really love their story. I loved the belly laughs it gave me, the butterflies that swirled around in my stomach when Maybe FINALLY got her wish, and the way the book made me feel all warm and gooey inside. Once again, Max Monroe has written a winner and I couldn't recommend it more to those who love romcoms.

So, I’m the dumb bitch who started this book right before bed. On a work night.
    Yeah.

Take my advice, don’t do this.

First, let’s get a few things out of the way. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, pulling off funny as an author is not easy. Everyone wants to gush about those writers who do serious and emotional but I’m telling you, funny is so much harder. If you try too hard, it comes off silly. Try to be too subtle and your awkward heroine comes off as a bit pathetic. Some have tried and failed (author names redacted to protect the innocent) but Max Monroe? These two are black belt ninjas at funny.

I knew this. I KNOW this. So yeah, starting this book before bed? Terrifically bad idea. Now I’m the bleary-eyed zombie writing about a great book that I stayed up way to late to finish because I couldn’t put it down.

Mabel Willis, nicknamed Maybe, is not having the best time after finishing her masters. First, she’s still sans employment so she’s working in her parents’ floral shop until she finds a job. Second, she’s in a bit of a dry spell love wise - and by dry spell I mean still a virgin with no real experience at even dating at the ripe old age of 24. And finally, thanks to some heavy drugs after a Groupon discounted surgery, she’s just sent a terribly embarrassing text to her long time crush asking him to deflower her. Oh but it gets worse, he’s also her brother’s best friend.

There’s some real gems in this book. Her hugging some random guy thinking he’s her date, the various text messages between her and Milo, and the way Maybe seems to say whatever pops into her head. Milo is a great pairing for her. He’s kind but not sappy, funny but not cruel, and completely captivated by all things Maybe.

As we get to their HEA, there’s fairly low angst and you never doubt these two are made for each other. This was a genuinely entertaining book with the right amount of humor to keep you laughing while not taking away from the overall story. Five stars.

    This book has everything!
The book so damn funny - so funny that I got funny looks from my family while I laughed so hard.
I love the banter between Maybe and Milo. How she weaseled herself in his life and they slowly fell in love.
I love the H and h and the side characters. You know them from previous books and you get to know Lena, Maybe's new best friend.

Maybe had a crush on Milo like forever. Milo was instantly attracted to her but struggled with himself, because she is his best friends little sister (*sigh* I love this trope). Eventually he fell in love with her and the realization hit him in the right (or wrong?) moment as she choosed the wrong words. My heart stopped in this moment and I wanted to yell and shake both of them. My heart ached so much as everything went down and you can feel the pull and love to each other.

I highly recommend this book to you if you are looking for a funny, slow-burn and brother's-best-friend and friends-to-lovers.

I absolutely love a good romcom and this is everything!
The humour, awkwardness, absolute adorable-ness and saucy moment. I generally couldn’t put it down, though I feel that’s true for All these two fantastic ladies books and I’m not even half my half through them..

Our two leads are Mill and Maybe, they are just cuteness! Known each other nearly their whole life, not seen each other in years and don’t forget Milo is the best friend of Maybe’s brother!

Maybe is funny, smart as a whip and when her confidence is glowing she has the same spunk as the rest of her family. She is a 24 year old virgin who is definitely ready not to be, has recently moved back home dreadful finished with her studies and trying to find her feet.

Milo is a billionaire businessman, he is in the words of his friends a workaholic I guess that’s what comes with running your own business. He is witty, hot, totally adorable while trying to figure out his feelings for Maybe.
His frat boy days are long behind him and he finds himself wanting more.

Maybe is working in her parents florist (I F-LOVE her dad) while she finds herself a job in publishing, Milo comes in one day.. However he has no clue that the beautiful woman working there is in fact Maybe, while she couldn’t forget her crush.
Throw in some general anesthetic, a working phone and an at the time great idea. It all leads to an absolute blast of a time!

Maybe and Milo's POV was insightful, hilarious, sassy and awkwardly sexy in the best way 🤣 The chemistry between this two, *swoon* 100% goals!!

I loved following their journey and hope I see bits of them in the other books, when I get there!

Thank you both for the swoons and the laughs, I loved!!

Maybe has recently moved back to New York after completing her master’s degree in Stanford and she has this huge crush on Milo her brother’s best friend from childhood. But then he doesn’t recognize her once she’s is now a pretty grownup woman and after an anestesia gone wrong she send Milo the craziest text/sext ever: Deflower me, please?

This book is awesome, is funny, flirty, sexy, intelligent, hilarious and full on romance. I really enjoy these authors books!!
This one has everything I like:
    - based in New York (my dream city)
    - Milo is a billionaire but he was never arrogant, always patient, lovable and (sometimes) grumpy one
    - Great new characters, such as Mabel’s parent (they so funny), her best friend Lena, her brother Evan...
    - We have Cap!!! And most important a guest appearance from our most beloved one Mr. Thatcher Kelly... I love him, every time he appears in a book I laugh and the “scene” in the cab??? OMG! He is amazing funny... we should have a Cap and Thatch book full with their adventures together!
I’m so looking forward Cap’s book...

What happens when you busy yourself with school and a budding career? No time, what even more happens when you add in the childhood crush of the one man you shouldn't want and who you compare all potential love interests too? You get Maybe.

Milo is the man she crushed on hard growing up and now that she's seen him again it's on loop with a very adult theme playing in the background.

He cannot believe he didn't recongnize the girl he practically was family with, his best friends baby sister, 6 years his junior. Line drawn she is off limits- but....

I really enjoyed this story. Full of cute antics, crazy best friends, great banter, steamy chemistry and a recipe to finally make things happen. You might need to wipe a few tears away when they screw it up, but you are gonna love every minute when it's back on track.

Cannot wait to see Cap again, and hopefully his sister makes an appearance, eventually her own book.
