    Dealing with monsters from the next door continuum is one thing, but when those monsters seems to now arrive through a rift somehow mutated is terrifying, especially when the shepherds find it difficult to retirn them back again to their own dimension.
    Somehow, Ina found she can really cope with them, thanks to advice from a friend.
    The thing is, though why are these creatures coming through distorted rifts and not acting like the regular ones?
    Author DM Fike once again has a number of interesting twists unleashed in Shattering Earth. Enough to make you wonder how and where you missed some clue as to what is happening here.
    And of course the reader once again cannot put the book down at all.

    Phew. I understand why all that needed to happen, but it was still tough to take in. The story gets darker. There are twists and traitors. I guessed some of them, but it was still a wild ride. If you've loved the first books, definitely keep reading.
