I enjoyed Nathan and Dahlia’s story. Nathan works as a miner and has the opportunity to request a mail-order bride. He also has an irresponsible stepbrother he feels responsible for.

Dahlia faithfully took care of her invalid father until he passed away. Now she considers herself an old maid. Not wanting to be dependent on her brother, she decides to become a mail-order bride.

Nathan and Dahlia agree to marry, so she leaves all that is familiar to her and travels by train out west. In the meantime, Nathan sustains a terrible injury. When she arrives, she must decide if she should marry the injured man not knowing if he will ever fully recover or if she should look elsewhere for work. The marriage would be done by proxy. After having finally gained her freedom from nursing her father, must she now marry a man who may never come out of his coma or, if he does, will he even be able to return to a normal life? His irresponsible brother is an added concern.

A story of strength of two people each wanting better lives only to have a devistaing thing happen. But it’s then that they truly find themselves and who they were meant to be together.
Great storyline different than most of the Historical books I’ve read. You don’t want to stop reading once you start. You feel like you are right there helping with the care of the character or join the worry of the other. Great characters for the main ones but the others as well.
This is part of a series and can be read alone, but to understand and get to know the minor characters read the other books. They tell how the town was formed and each couple that is there.
No sexual references or language so I can recommend this to anyone who wants a good book.

This is the nineteenth book in this series about mail order brides finding love and happiness with a miner and family

Nathan and Dahlia met each other through an advertisement placed in the Matrimonial section of the newspaper. After corresponding a while, they began discussing meeting with each other to make a decision about marriage. Delia left her home and learned that the train derailment that her train experienced just before arriving was the result of an explosion in the mine in which Nathan worked. Nathan received serious injuries and was unconscious. They needed to be married to move into married housing provided by the mining company so Nathan's brother, Herbert, stood in for Nathan for the marriage by proxy.

Enjoy this book and learn the details. I certainly enjoyed it.

This was a very good read about Dahlia and Nathan. Dahlia is a mail order bride for Nathan. Nathan is the miner who is injured in mining accident. There is no one who can care for him except for Dahlia, except she is not married to him and he is in a coma now. Well they marry threw a proxy marriage only until Nathan wakes up. This was a well written book and will enjoy reading it again.

No matter what comes your way, live it to the best you can. That is what this mail-order bride did after arriving to find that her husband-to-be had been badly injured in a mining accident. Other than having to manage on the food they had & immediately knowing she could earn a little by mending other miner's clothes - she also had to deal with her new husband's step-brother.

Nubiles Springs offers hope of a new direction in life. Filled with adventure and some characters who cause smiles, plus some other adventures that occur around mining and trains a well laid out story takes place.

She wanted a different life and he wanted a mail order bride. I think she was very brave to start out her marriage as a Nurse for Nathan. Interesting story in a mining community.
