Nick's Envy (The Brotherhood Book 4) Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 94 ratings

Levi and Kurt were supposed to be the top two elite members of The Brotherhood's Elite Forces, but Nick knew he was better. Those two buffoons weren't even able to solve their cases without the help of some random witch who had pulled a couple of answers out of thin air. Even Elliott sang her praises. They were all idiots if they believed that she was something special.

Nick didn't need them. He was playing with the big boys in DC. The demon influx in his home town was just as threatening as in the other cities, but it was also much more subtle. There was bigger game afoot and Nick was going to solve this case himself. He didn't need anybody's help. Not even the pint-sized witch who made his heart stutter.

Yet once he met Grace, Nick understood what the fuss was about. Intelligent, powerful and unafraid, Grace would make the perfect trophy companion. All he needed to do was tame her a little, polish her rough edges and get rid of the two men who were obsessed with her. She might have been fooling around with Kurt and Levi, but once Grace saw Nick's power, his connections and his prowess, she wouldn't be able to resist him.

Nick would prove to them all who was the true number one elite warrior and Grace would fall to her knees in front of him - right where she belonged.

Hi, I'm Jade Thorn,

I'm a stay at home mother of 3 gorgeous wee monsters. I live in Australia with them, their Daddy, our pup, Smudge, and our pet fish.

I've been writing forever it seems. I had a passion for it as young as 9, but it never occured to me that others would like my little stories. I have oodles and oodles of half written pieces and slowly but surely I'm sharing them with you.

I'm finally doing what I've always dreamed of, and it's even better than I imagined. I do hope you enjoy reading my stories as much as I enjoy writing them.

Jade

xoxo

Have I mentioned lately how much I adore this series?! Every time, I assume each book will be about the titled character. However, I end up wonderfully surprised to not only be introduced to said character, but also discover new puzzle pieces that make the storyline that much more interesting!

Normally, I don't enjoy plots with so many mates because my brain can't keep up. But in this series, Jade completely knocks it out of the park with her character development and storytelling. I never have a problem with remembering who is who, no matter how much time has passed between books. I have fallen for every character, romantic or platonic, and how they're connected to Grace.

I also enjoy how there is SO much action in this series! It keeps things unpredictable, and I couldn't be more thrilled to discover what's next!

Action packed and well written. This series seems so much more about the action and plot than about the RH romance that’s building. Perhaps because you only get one member per book? But it’s not a bad thing just different from my usual reads in this genre. Superb world building continues as well as in depth character development in previous and new characters. It’s a long book but worth it.

This series is really becoming a favorite!
Very reminiscent of early Anita Blake books.
The story elements of each book really contribute to an overall arching tie in to each new book.
The Harem elements are believable, and not instant which I really appreciate as well. It's not just collecting a new man in every book. That being said. I would really like an episode with more of Elliot. I find him, and his wolf the most interesting.
Can't wait I start the next installment

I'm loving this series. Grace bonds with two, so much action and of course arrogant men who think they know it all. I can't wait for the next book, I'm sitting on pins and needles to know what is going to happen next.

This is one series I always look forward to reading and will forever return to when I'm in need of a strong female mc. I absolutely adore Grace and every time she gets underestimated by one of the guys in The Brotherhood I cackle as I watch her repeatedly show them that she is a no-nonsense woman who is so much more than she appears to be. While Grace takes things into her own hands sometimes or is forced to use her powers just to get the guys to listen to her, she never flaunts her power. The fact that she has the well size she has, much larger than anyone else around, she never brags, never makes anyone feel lesser, never uses it just to use it. She takes everything she has and *gives* instead. She's a truly remarkable character who will make such a huge difference in The Brotherhood but also in the world around her. Despite all the good she does, she is constantly in an uphill battle--demons, gods, sins, and even the men of The Brotherhood themselves  The guys that she has met so far--Kurt, Levi, and Nick--really push their luck with how they approach Grace, but as the series continues you begin to see them change. From players and men incapable of emotion to men who are protective, thoughtful at times, and even show some emotion. Nick still has a long way to go since this is the first book we've seen him in, but Kurt and Levi? They are practically different men. At least with how they are towards Grace and each other. It's a huge step for Kurt and an even bigger one for Levi, especially after the number his ex did on him. I look forward to seeing what comes next in this series. We've found out a bit more about everything that is going on with the attacks, a tiny hint on what Grace actually is but no definite answer, and were introduced to a couple new characters who I'm excited to see again. The surprises Jade adds to these books never cease to amaze me. Patiently waiting for Gage's Langour.

I love Jade Thorn’s creativity because this book took me for a ride. It was nothing like I thought it would. The story continues to develop with Nick but not in the way you think. Thorn did an amazing job providing bread crumps throughout the book that gave more information on what is going on. She captures your attention and before you know it you can’t put the book down.

Every time I think I've met the biggest alphahole in The Brotherhood, Jade presents us a new example. The fact they don't like each other is only icing on the cake. Even though all these men are ripped and hot, I'm starting to feel sorry for Grace, so I was very pleased to see another potential partner showing up in this book. My first impression of him was at least a lot better than my first impression of Levi, Kurt, Nick and Elliot.

I really like the way the harem around Grace is developing. While I thought at first Grace would just end up with all the men from The Broterhood, I'm starting to think it might become a little more complicated then that. Grace is a lovely fmc, so I hope there will be a time at least some of these men understand how to behave properly. This book is filled with action, character development, a few answers to lingering questions, and some new questions to ponder about.

For me this is the perfect series, because it doesn't force me to binge from one book to the next. Every book has it's own story and proper ending, but enough to look forward to the next one. I like series that keep me interested, but make it easy to take time in between books to read something else.

    Nick. Oh boy.
Everything to find annoying in a man.
Intelligent and thinks everyone else is a moron, strategic and no one else is capable to solve the puzzle or making a plan, strong and everyone else is weaker, he wants Grace and no one else is worthy. The conceit and cockiness so over the top to make him barely likeable. Grace attempts to knock him into line but his stubbornness barely budges his opinions. Kurt and Levi are finally coming around and their relationships are solidifying, the ghouls become stronger allies in the continuing battles. Loved the ending battle and resolution, and Elliott's plan for the next installment if the saga. Will be interesting to watch Nick find some better character attributes and not annoy every time he speaks.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great story, love Grace!

I love the way that Grace deals with the guys and their misguided need to protect her. My favourite is when she first meets Nick - I loved it!

Grace, Kurt and Levi have joined Nick to help defeat the demons. They need to work together but Nick is definitely not a team player.

I enjoyed getting to know the characters and the team dynamics in this book, how everyone plays their own part and how its all starting to come together.

It doesn't end on a cliffhanger, but there is definitely a little twist that will want to reading the next book.
