Notorious Man on Campus: an Enemies to Lovers College Football Romance (Big Men on Campus Book 4) Kindle Edition
And she's here to stay.
Brick
The year that was supposed to be the glorious culmination of all my hard work, the pinnacle of the college dream come true, is now officially a nightmare.
Nyla is the girl I spent the night with six years ago. A night I've been trying to forget ever since because she was supposed to be my brother's girlfriend.
I thought I left her behind when I left for St. Paul U, but now she's living one floor under me, reminding me constantly of my betrayal and hers, haunting my days as well as my nights, and tempting me to become my worst self all over again...
Some unholy deity could not have dialed up a more terrible torture, a more poisonous punishment than to force me to spend my senior year living under the same roof as that girl.
But Majik hired her and there's no going against Majik's decree that she needs Nyla's help to cook and clean at BMOC House.
Welcome to my senior year. Turning from the best time of my life as the star QB, big man on campus on my way to the NFL, into a living purgatory where I'm reminded daily of the one most absolutely f*cked up mistake I ever made.
My dreams of a pro football career could come crashing down. Worse, I could lose whatever shreds of a family I still have.
Unless I deal with her... my personal Eve from the garden of hell with her tempting apples.

If you love stories where the giant immovable oak in the form of a grumpy smokin' hot football god is felled by an s sunshiny spitfire in a battle of wills and forbidden attraction, then you'll love this one!

USA Today bestselling author Stephanie Queen writes steamy angsty new adult and sports romance, romcoms and romantic suspense. She's been writing stories forever, the kind with happy endings.
Besides writing, she loves UConn basketball, NFL football, kittens and hanging out with friends and fellow readers in real life and on Facebook talking about books, romance and life.
She goes to the gym. More or less. She is the president of her local Chocoholics Anonymous chapter (after a long-standing denial and spectacular failure to control her permanent addiction).
Her writing desk overelooks one of many New Hampshire lakes where she lives with her husband and cat, and while their two sons are off on their own life adventures.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 16, 2021Format: KindleVerified PurchaseIt's not a secret that I adore Stephanie Queen's books. This book is another example of why I do. It's much more common today to find books where the heroine is so strong she doesn't bend well. Nyla is so strong...she does bend. Stephanie reminds us that sometimes being someone's rock, their shelter is the strongest thing you can do.
Brick has lots of past trauma, including the fact that Nyla 'abandoned' him. Even though he knows logically she had to and he would've pushed her away regardless, emotionally he blames her for not proving some women stay.
Brick has plenty of self-loathing too. He is difficult and is cruel and hurtful. Through it all, she stands by him. But she does it in such a way that she just stays. She doesn't chase, she doesn't throw herself at him, she doesn't subjugate herself...she just stands. Some people would say that she was weak. I don't think so.
Nyla proved that people with abandonment and trauma issues need consistency and unwavering support. It really is all about them because it has to be. Brick comes to his own conclusion that he needs to give her a chance to prove she will always love him and he needs to take his second foot off the cliff.
Stephanie never ceases to amaze me with how well she writes on trauma, both in the descriptions and reactions. She also doesn't back away from showing how freaking hard it is to stand by victims of trauma. It's ugly and complicated and complex and painful...for both people.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 23, 2021Format: KindleRicky Blanick, aka Brick, captain, QB of St. Paul University. He is popular, handsome among athletes and everyone but he never has steady girlfriend or in a relationship. He lost his mother when he was young and he had multiple stepmothers who didn’t really take care of him. He believed most women would leave him or use him. so he stayed clear of them until Nyla showed up at his SMOC house.
Nyla and Brick has a story. She is from wrong side of the town and worked at Bricks house as cook/housekeeper. Nyla was also Brick’s brothers ex girlfriend. She knew she would face Brick again and bring back all her feelings but she couldn’t pass the opportunity of working and getting her degree.
Nyla and Brick has secrets they kept from each other (that took little too long and some were not really answered.). They seem like an enemy at first but when they face each other they couldn’t deny strong pull and chemistry.
I just wished there were more back story to understand more about Brick and Nyla. They seem like pretty good characters but it seems their inside voices and their actions were little bit too much at times. Other characters were funny and made story more interesting.
I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a complimentary copy.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 17, 2021Format: KindleVerified PurchaseA fantastic enemies to lovers college football romance with characters you root for and a story that pulled me in immediately and kept me totally immersed in all that was happening until I read the last word. I loved the undeniable attraction and sizzling off-the-charts romance between star quarterback and president of BMOC house Brick Blanick and Nyla Rhoades who used to date his brother and is now working for Majick. No one writes a sports romance quite like Stephanie Queen who pulls at your heartstrings as you ride an emotional roller-coaster with Brick and Nyla. I received an advance reader copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my review. I enjoyed it so much, I purchased a copy to read again later.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 16, 2021Format: KindleThis was a quick read, mostly fun and enjoyable university romance.
Brick is the Big Man On Campus at St. Paul’s University - star qb; gorgeous; cold, distant, broken and unavailable star of every coed’s dreams.
Nyla is a scholarship culinary student. As part of her scholarship she will be cooking for the boys at the Big Men On Campus house at St. Paul’s.
Brick and Nyla are not strangers. Nyla worked for his family in high school, and dated Brick’s brother Jimmy. They have an undeniable connection but something happened years ago that has made them enemies, despite the fact that Nyla is pretty sure she’s in love with him.
The slow reveal of their past and the explanation of the tension between them was interesting. But there were things missing. Brick’s multiple stepmothers were used as part of the reason he was so cold and distrustful of women. But there was really no explanation of how, why, or what happened with them. He’s a misogynist, sees women as nothing more than one night stands, love is a fallacy, but the level of anger, bitterness, and hatred really needs more of a background than we’re given. Without that, he’s just a jerk and Nyla, with her optimistic belief that she can reach the tortured broken boy underneath, is just delusional. And Nyla’s mother and her loathing of rich people is mentioned a few times but nothing really came of it.
Despite the frustration with that, there were some great things about the book. As the story progressed Brick did too, softening up a bit, acknowledging his problems, etc.
NMOC has a lot going for it, but it feels a little like a duet cropped to a single. I’d give it 3-1/2/5 ⭐️
Full disclosure, I received a free copy of this book but am voluntarily leaving my honest review
- Reviewed in the United States on October 18, 2021Format: KindleVerified PurchaseLet me just say once I started reading brick and Nyla’s story it was very difficult to put down my kindle. The story starts out with brick finding out that the cook for his house of elite athletes is going to mentor a student cook that turns out to be his older brothers ex-girlfriend.They both don’t want anyone to know that they know each other as more than acquaintances. The bickering, the subtle flirting, the chemistry between them is almost combustible. They both have secrets there keeping from each other. His is about betrayal ,Her’s is a secret she is keeping for his brother that she wishes he would share with his brother. So much is happening on every page. This is another great story by Stephanie Queen.I am so willingly reviewing this arc book that I have received from this author. There was so much action I loved it. Definitely recommending it to you all.
