I really enjoyed this book right from the beginning and all the way through to the end. I would love to have dinner and drinks with these characters: Lucy, Bryce, Brenna, Cole, Celine and Luciano. I found the characters to be truly relatable. The story provides a nostalgic feeling due to the length of time that the characters have known each other combined with the feelings of first loves. Off Season hits all the emotions: angst, joy, euphoria, humor, vulnerability, sadness, wanting, hoping, doubting, and loving. Chelle Sloan tells a story that keeps the reader engaged and wanting more. Chelle Sloan keep working your romance magic!

    I don't even know where to start! Bryce, in the beginning, is a complete idiot. Why would you treat someone like that if you love them?! Ugh.

    It takes losing Lucy TWICE for Bryce to finally wake up and realize that his actions are hurting the one he loves the most.

    Lucy, oh sweet Lucy. I am so proud of her for standing up for herself and telling Bryce how she deserves to be treated. Her strength and growth throughout this journey are truly inspiring.

    This angst filled, second chance sports romance was a rollercoaster ride of emotions but the love between Bryce and Lucy was worth it all! If you love a broken, bad boy hero that needs a lot of fixing, you will love Bryce, he is a hero that is worthy of redemption.

    What I love about the Nashville Fury series is that they are not your typical sports romances, we get love stories from every angle, the coaches, the reporters and now a down on his luck quarterback. This is a story of redemption and the hard fought road it takes to get life back on track, nothing glorious about being benched from your team. Bryce starts at rock bottom and he had a lot to make up for, he tested my patience but I loved watching him earn his place in Lucy’s life again and regain his football career.

    And my dear Lucy, I loved her tenacity, she wasn’t going to let Bryce back into her life easily, he had crushed her heart one too many times but her love still lingered. There was no fooling her heart into marrying someone else, it was clear it was waiting for Bryce to get his act together! It was sweet to see how they started in high school together, the nerdy girl and the quarterback with a secret crush, swoon!

    I’ll be patiently waiting for Cole and Brenna’s story next!

    Third in the series but you could read as stand alone. I love Bryce and Lucy’s story. Star rookie quarterback Bryce can’t seem to care about football when Lucy’s no longer part of his life. Barely hanging on he heads home to get help. Lucy who was engaged to family friend she grew up with realizes she’s not in love with him. She’s still hung up on Bryce. When she runs into Bryce the spark between the two can’t be denied. Bryce has a lot of growing and Lucy deserves to be a priority in his life if he wants her. It’s a MVP performance by Bryce for the win.

    I tried to enjoy this story. The first two were 5 stars awesome, but this one, I just couldn't really enjoy. It was alright. Bryce was not my favorite quarterback I've ever read. Not even in the top ten. Lucy was cute, and I felt she deserved better. Bryce was just a whiny spoiled guy, took way too long for him to realize all his flaws and mistakes, and stopped blaming everyone else. I did finish it. The ending was better than the beginning. Hopefully, Cole and Brenna's story is better.

    Off Season is the 3rd book in the Nashville Fury Series but can be read as a complete standalone. Bryce is a troubled football player and we find him hitting his rock bottom right from the beginning. I was quickly absorbed.

    The book is told in first-person dual POV, which I am a fan of. It includes multiple timelines as you begin to understand Bryce and his relationship with Lucy. Bryce is a likable guy and it is easy to see how Lucy, the mathlete, fell for him their senior year of high school. We learn about the many broken promises along the way that led to Lucy breaking his heart. Lucy was sweet, caring, innocent, and a little nerdy. I have yet to meet anyone who uses and loves pro-con lists as much as her. Bryce deeply loves Lucy, but had a terrible way of showing it at times. I was not happy with the choice Lucy made when she was tired of waiting. I can see why Bryce was so heartbroken, the one person he felt safe and connected with broke his trust.

    In the past, the timing was never right for these two. Now that Bryce is in town, he is determined to do what it takes and declares this to be the right time. Bryce is ready to mend fences and move forward, with not only Lucy, but his family, friends, and teammates and finding your HEA.

    Off Season is a story about relationships, compromise, and forgiveness. It was an enjoyable story with interesting characters. There was a great blend of angst, romance, and humor to keep me turning the pages. I can't wait until the next installment…..secretly I'm hoping for Cole's story next.

    When I first started reading this book I wasn't sure I liked Lucy. How could she walk away and break him like that if she loved him so much? 😔 As the story progresses, and we see her side of things, I start to sympathize with her, understand that there was more to the story. I am glad Bryce got his head out of his behind and proved to her that he was worth taking a chance on.

    I look forward to reading more of Chelle Sloan's books.

    Wow! I freaking loved this slow burn, second chance story with Bryce and Lulu. The baggage and background these two needed to work through would have destroyed most couples trying to find their way. Their story had depth, heartache, triumphs and of course a much anticipated HEA.

    Chelle has grown so much in her writing and this story was her best yet! It drew out a bazillion different emotions in my as I made my way through it. The story was absolutely realistic. My husband and I did the long distance thing and these struggles and frustrations were incredibly accurate.

    I loved the sprinkling in of former series favorites and am looking forward to see what is to come next.

    Bryce met Lucy when they were young and he thought that she was the most wonderful person but his actions meant he didnt treasure her like he should have done. He made lost of promises and never managed to keep any of them because football was his life and it was always placed first. He regularly missed special occasions and phone calls were not taken and her patience ran out. She told him enough is enough and she walked away from the man that kept hurting her. I think she should have stayed away because he was just too selfish and even at the end I still think he didnt really redeem the hurt he caused. I found myself telling her to stay away as he was never really going to grow up.
