Off Track: An accidental pregnancy, pro football romance (Nashville Fury Series Book 2) Kindle Edition
Since I was a little girl, I've known the fairy tale I've wanted to live.
Grow up. Fall in love. Get married to a man who will dance with me in the kitchen and kiss me for no reason. Have a big family and live happily ever after.
There's just one problem—men suck.
What's a southern girl have to do to find her future husband? It's certainly not on the dating apps, so I do something out of my comfort zone—I ask my step sister to set me up.
And what does she deliver? A six-foot-two, sexy as sin football coach who has a fear of commitment.
Great. The definition of my Prince Charming.
Only this man is no prince. He's a tall, dark, and handsome playboy who is impossible to resist.
I've never been a fling kind of girl, but with Davis, something so wrong feels so right. Maybe it's that we're doing it in secret? Or that I can somehow always feel his lips on me?
We both know we need to stop. Get out before anyone gets hurt.
There's just one problem. Well, two.
Two pink lines specifically.
Yup, this is definitely not how the fairy tale is supposed to go…

About the author

Known for her witty sense of humor, Chelle Sloan is a former sports editor who after completing her Master’s degree in journalism, decided to become a romance author. You know, because that’s the normal path to writing happily ever afters.
An Ohio native, she’s fiercely loyal to Cleveland sports, is the owner of way too many — yet not enough — tumblers and will be a New Kids on the Block fan until the day she dies. She does her best writing at Panera, or anywhere that’s not her house.
When she’s not writing, she’s trying to learn to bake, fixing up her condo (badly and by watching YouTube videos), or falling in love with a book.
As for her own happily every after? Maybe one day...

- Reviewed in the United States on March 25, 2021Sparks fly in this surprise baby romance! Book two of the Nashville Fury series definitely brought the laughter and the heat. Sarcastic humor, witty banter and burning chemistry make this story a fun read with a few good plot twists to make this sports romance shine! Bethany and Davis start off on a blind date with an instant connection, I loved how they just hit it off and let their attraction lead to some fun between the sheets.
Total opposites in what they want out of relationships, it was fun to watch them fall in love and when a surprise baby enters the mix, it was great to see Davis’s protective side come out in full force! Davis is such a funny, sexy, sweet man, while he didn’t think he could handle more from a relationship, he stepped up and worked through his fears. Bethany has dreamed of her life married to her Prince Charming, but life hasn’t gone that way and letting a man like Davis make her feel good was just the change she needed. She is a strong yet vulnerable woman and would do anything to protect her new little family. And don’t worry, while it’s a surprise baby romance there’s no secret and I appreciated that! The sports aspect of the story was woven in perfectly to show the behind the scenes of coaching and has me excited for the next book in the series!

After reading and loving ‘Off the record’ I was very looking forward to the next book in the ‘Nashville Fury’ series. If you have read the first book then you will have met Bethany and Davis. Bethany is Sadie’s stepsister and Davis is Hunter’s colleague and friend. In ‘Off the record’ we got glimpses in the background that something was going on with these two but it’s only now in this book that we get the full story. You don’t have to read the first book, you can read this book as a standalone too.
When Bethany and Davis agreed to a blind date, they each did it for a different reason. Bethany because she’s looking for that one guy to marry and have children with and Davis agreed because he’s looking for a fun time. But from the first glance, there is an attraction between them. A chemistry big enough that both of them decide to ignore their own rules. So they agree for a (secret) friends with benefit ‘relationship’ but after some time they both know that it’s better to end their ‘friends with benefits’ before hearts are being broken but life isn’t always that easy. Bethany and Davis find that out when Bethany discovers that she’s pregnant. And now Davis and Bethany have some big decisions to make about their lives.
‘Off track’ is a sweet, sexy read. Bethany and Davis are nice characters and although they have different dreams of their future, they also have some things in common. Both of them grew up without a father. Bethany never knew her father and Davis’ father left them when he was young. Both dealt with it in their own way. Bethany is afraid that a guy will leave her alone and Davis made the decision that he only has place in his life for his family (his mother and sisters) and not for a woman or a family of his own. But this story proves that the love of the right person can change a lot. Both of them reacted good on the many changes in their life, it was done with respect and kindness. The secondary characters were also loveable. Davis’ sisters and mother and Bethany’s family. It was great to see Hunter and Sadie again. I would have giving this story a 4 star but there was a scene at the end that left me with mixed feelings, I didn’t really liked how Davis reacted there (but that is my personal view and opinion). I can understand his fears and worries but the way he reacted was a bit too much out of character, I think. I did love the epilogue and the extended epilogue that you can get at the end of the story.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 21, 2025This was a major opposites attract trope with accidental pregnancy. Davis, Hunter's assistant coach and best friend, is a major commitment phobic. Bethany, Sadie's stepsister and bestie, wants the marriage/family dream but always ends up with the duds. They are set up, and of course, there are sparks but come to agreement of no relationship, just secret friends with benefits. When feelings get involved, they split up. Then, the plus sign appears on the test. From there things change for both.
Loved the plot, great character interactions, conflicts, forgiveness, families, and more.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 6, 2025I did enjoy this book at first. It wasn’t the best book I’ve ever read but it was sweet and a good reset when you read a lot of heavy stuff. However and this review will contain some spoilers. The last 40 pages of the book ruined the entirety of the book for me. I cannot fathom how Bethany forgave Davis within seconds for how horribly he treated her. No woman deserves that especially right after giving birth. It ruined my entire view of Davis and made him into one of the worst MMC I’ve ever read. Also it made me lose respect for Bethany because she’s trying to fix someone who is repeatedly disrespecting her, treating her like absolute garbage, going to day drink instead of help his fiancé who literally just gave birth to their child and is recovering. I’m really disappointed with the author and how she chose to ruin both characters by doing that. I would have rather them have a third act breakup than whatever the hell that was because that was ten times worse and ruined the entire book for me. I’m genuinely really pissed off after this book now and don’t know if I will continue this series if this is how the author writes the endings of her book. It came completely out of left field and made zero sense. The author builds this idea that Davis is willing to do anything for his family and is a provider but that’s the exact opposite of what he does. He becomes just as bad as his own father and Bethany’s father in my opinion and somehow we are supposed to praise him for his actions since he came back and think this is okay? I haven’t had a book make me this pissed off with an ending in a long time. I just hope the author never writes a book like this again where the ending ruins the entirety of the book and the characters personalities that were crafted for hundreds of pages.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cute!
I’ve read this book in one day! I know, I know, Chelle spent months writing it and I didn’t take my time. Well, I don’t care. Even fine wine can be appreciated in a large gulp! The book is cute, light, funny. Bethany and Davis are such a strong couple together but also their own person when separated! Their individual stories make what this book is. I can’t wait for the next two books in the series.
Ps: Chelle, if you read this, I love your TikToks!

5.0 out of 5 stars I wasn't ready...
Ahh... That was cute.
Minus Davis' name. Unfortunate much?
Ok, but seriously, the characters were great. The panic moments from Davis and his realization that he is going to be a father, I can totally see that being accurate.
Bethany was cool headed (for the most part), and pulled through to be the badass mama I knew she'd be.
It was great to also see so much of Sadie and Hunter. Such a great couple.
Great flowing plot, laughed, cried, and enjoyed the day to day with everyone involved.
Can't wait for the rest of the series.
Kudos to Chelle!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Sweet as pie this one is!
Adriana Locke’s first book is really good! I’m surprised at how polished it is. I love that Davis and Bethany are such a good fit… that she’s so flexible and easygoing and he’s so committed to her and their child. The sweetest!

5.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable Sports Series Read
This book was an easy and satisfying read with only a small amount of angst. Davis and Bethany were well rounded characters and I liked the message that women had strengths of their own and could be supportive partners, not just waiting around for men to help them. Davis certainly had a lot on his plate at times! I look forward to reading the next two books in this series.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cute
3.5* a pretty basic rom com about a girl desperately dreaming of finding love and all that goes with it ie wedding dress, white picket fence and 2.5 kids. She begs her sister Sadie (From Off The Record) to set her up on a blind date. Insert Davis assistant coach for the football team The Fury, he’s a fun time but not the settling down type. Bethany throws out the plan to search for Mr Fight for Mr Right now what could it hurt to have a little fun? Overall a sweet romance.
