About the author

Maxwell spent his youth in Metropolis Illinois, the home of Superman.
There, the seeds of loving Fantasy and Sci-Fi blossomed. Like the caped crusader, Maxwell dons an alter ego. During the day, he’s known as Dr. Farmer and treats all the local dogs and cats of their ailments.
At night however, he works hard to write captivating stories full of action and adventure in order to transport readers to new and magical worlds.
He lives in the Great White North of Wisconsin with his wife, son, and 2 dogs. Feel free to message him on his website https://www.maxwellfarmer.com/ to discuss his projects or nerdy things in general. He’d love to hear from you!
If you really do like the stories, please take 5 minutes to leave a positive review! It really does help!

- Reviewed in the United States on March 7, 2021This book opens up the world from the small orc village of the 1st book to develop more of the Ashen Plane, its history and current political climate, and its diverse inhabitants of many different but familiar races. Our main character continues his journey with his old allies while gaining new friends, but also facing new enemies/challenges, along the way. With bits of humor sprinkled in, great character development of characters old and new, plenty of combat and strategy, and multiple twists/surprises, this book was hard to put down, and I can't wait for more.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 6, 2021I really liked this one. I will say that the main character grew a little too fast. I really hope the author does not do the classic somehow the MC gets needed and loses all his powers.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 2, 2021The side characters continue to be fully fleshed out and the protagonist is groing. And the best part and we got a bit of base/ city building so happy to see that included.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 28, 2020Holy crap! This is the second book in the series so far, and it blew the first one out of the water! I loved seeing various characters become even more developed and intricate. The story line will grab you by the throat and not let go! Without giving anything away, some of the plot twists and the MC's skill evolution is just amazing! I really hope he continues with this story line. I didn't just read "a book", I was transported to another world and don't want to return! Could not recommend this book enough! I would give it more then 5 stars if I could. Read it, you won't be disappointed!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 3, 2020Love the role reversal of what is normally conceptualized as good and evil. Book introduces some history and starts to expand the universe. Great and exciting read. Can’t wait to see what direction the author takes us!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent growth!
I loved the way Grim grows as a character, and the world reveals of this second book, especially finding out more of the progenitors lives and the past, making Zordell and his kin much more fully fleshed!
