One Bride & Two Grooms: A Pride & Prejudice Novella (Mischief & Matrimony) Kindle Edition

4.3 out of 5 stars 493 ratings

WHEN YOU WANT HER ONLY CHOICE TO BE YOU

In this fast-paced novella set in Regency England, Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy has competition for the hand of the only woman he will ever love. Making a poor first impression, he had no idea how far out of the hole he needed to dig himself until she could view him as anything other than arrogant and unworthy.

Miss Elizabeth Bennet loathed Mr. Darcy. His selfish disdain for the feelings of others, including herself, made him the last man on earth she would ever marry. Of course, she felt the same about his competition.

Based on Jane Austen's classic novel, Pride & Prejudice, will Darcy and Elizabeth ever obtain the happily-ever-after they desire? With each other?

Enjoy Darcy's point-of-view as he tells a tale that might take you by surprise. It sure did the both of them.

One Bride & Two Grooms is appropriate for all readers. Every book in this series is a complete story that can be read in any order.

The “game” that Mr. Bennet introduced to Collins and Mr. Darcy to win Lizzy’s hand was quite a bit of fun. Plus the characters involved made it all the more interesting. Quite fun, this book!!

Definitely a quick, lighthearted read when you want to smile.

Collins and Darcy both want to marry Elizabeth Bennet—no surprise—wants neither of them.

However, there is a plan afoot. Darcy's great secret weapon (too perfect, really), and a spy in Longbourn. Dun dun dunnnn!

I enjoyed reading it very much.

Sweet, simple and cute. The premise revolves around Darcy trying to compete against Mr Collins for Elizabeth's hand (which, honestly, you would think would be no contest at all) where each man gets thirty minutes a day to make his case. Some good advice from Georgiana goes a long way.

It was cute, but a little underdeveloped. For instance, though we get to see Darcy's thirty minutes each day, Mr Collins' are only described second hand. I would think that such hijinks would be amusing to see in detail. And we see little to no evolution in Elizabeth's feelings for Darcy; we kinda skip ahead to her liking him after being unusually harsh to begin with. Lady Catherine, also, was greatly watered down.

It was a sweet, clean story and I recommend reading it once, though likely not multiple times. I've enjoyed other stuff by this author more.

A short but sweetly humorous variation inspired by author Jane Austen’s classic novel Pride and Prejudice by Christie Capps. I enjoyed it.

No spoilers but I beg you to read this wholly satisfying tale of courtship between ODC. I like that., though Liszt is not unreasonable, it takes time to win her over. It was pure pleasure to get to their HEA.

It was a fun quick read. You got to see things from an early darcy perspective and got to see them fall in love more naturally and a little more smoothly. Loved both the darcy AND Elizabeth in this one, which doesn't always happen for me 😂😂

Although with modern face being passed off as of the regency on the cover ... I really can’t do with that, reminds me too much of those horrid cheap yellow paper bodice rippers you can buy at airports ... I gave this a chance and it was a funny and interesting short read over a cuppa.

A low angst novella, with a gentle humour and a wry twist at the end. Darcy quickly humbles himself when he realises his arrogance and it is amusing to watch his courtship of Lizzy with Mr Collins attempting to ape his every move.

Loved it! I enjoy all the short stories Joy writes under this name and I would put this up with my favourites!
Darcy competing with Mr Collins to try and win Elizabeth? I loved the reactions of his chosen helper! I loved the way Darcy thought through all his interactions with Elizabeth to earn her regard! I loved the story of Mr Collins and the sweets 😂😂.
All in all a fabulous book! Highly recommended!

What if Darcy has to go up against Collins directly for Lizzy’s feelings. Stand back from the fireworks. A very quick book, but nicely written.
