I love dogs, coffee, making handmade cards, and reading steamy romance novels!

- Reviewed in the United States on August 17, 2021I have read one or two of Marie James' MC romances and enjoyed them, but those aren't usually my favorite tropes so they are far and few in-between. However, I definitely plan to devour EVERY SINGLE BOOK in this series when they come out. For realz.
One Eighty by Marie James was unlike anything I have ever read. It wasn't easy to read. It was chocked-full of heartbreak, discovery, forgiveness, retribution, and love. Oh, what a brutal love story this was!
From the Prologue that left me questioning if I even wanted to read this book (you'll understand when you read it) to the epilogue, I could not put this book down. I forced myself to go to bed at the 60% mark since it was nearly daylight outside. I dreamed of the story and as soon as my eyes popped open today I put my glasses on and devoured the last 40%.
I will admit a lot of reviewers couldn't get past everything he had done to her. But guess what? This is not YOUR story. I'm not sure I would forgive someone if they did what the H in this story did to the h, but without being in their heads, I can't make that judgment.
This book is YA Contemporary Romance with a few sexy parts and a few triggers that may affect readers (history of self-harm, thoughts of suicide). It does have an HEA, but that ending left me wanting more so THAT is why I only gave this book 4.5 stars. I would have preferred a longer epilogue or more of a conclusion.

This story was beautiful. I loved the story line of the bully loosing his memory and falling for the one he spent over a decade bullying. I loved the raw intense emotions and how it made me feel like glass as the story took a sledgehammer to me and shattered me completely. I loved both characters. I loved Pipers fight and the way she didn’t give in. I’m on the fence with Dalton.
The whole story development was amazing. It was littered with anguish and sob geeked moments. It was slow burning and the push and pull was a lot of back and forth. I really did love this story, but not as much as I wanted to love it. My rating is 4 stars because I really felt it was incomplete and I didn’t get the fullness I usually get from stories. I feel like he will probably get his memories back and I want to be able to read all that. There was loose ends. I’m hoping for another book on these twos. In other words I’m still craving them completely.
You should read this book. It was very beautiful and I devoured it quickly.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 4, 2020I enjoyed reading this book. This is my first read from this author. The writing is very descriptive and emotional. The storyline is about a bully and a girl. It is charged with the right amount of emotions and torment, and hidden secrets. Dalton and Piper story. Dalton is the bully that tormented Piper for years. Dalton did and said unforgiving things to Piper. Piper is the good girl, a tormented soul, trying to stay away from her tormentors at school but in the meanwhile she carries her pain beautifully. The reason for the three stars is while I liked the storyline, I did not like the fact that Dalton stopped being a bully to Piper because of his amnesia. Dalton loses his past memories does not have any recollection of being a bully, and he is totally a different person. He is no longer a bully to Piper. At one point in the storyline Dalton does not understand how he is not Piper’s boyfriend. Dalton wakes up from the accident not being any longer his self but a different person like night to day. The reader does not read about Dalton change or struggle and the willingness to change. This somehow bothersome. A bully should not get away this easily only because of amnesia. It is an easy way out. I was hoping that I would read about Dalton acquiring his memories, and able to correct his wrongdoing. The book is fast paced and the end of the book including the epilogue feels as there are unfinished issues not solved. I hope that the author has in project another book with Dalton and Piper story.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 16, 2020This book gave me some feels, I’m not even about to lie. So many enemies to lovers books are eye rolling and cliche. So is anything that has to do with amnesia. But this was such a fresh perspective with heartbreaking and relatable tragedy that I felt the pain and felt so connected to their journey. It’s so easy to get sucked into rooting for characters but the way it’s done here makes you feel like you’re truly rooting for your friends. Small and IMO insignificant spoiler alert: I also love how the author tied back around to the reason why Piper chose another friend to play with that day in kindergarten. I know it may seem like such an inconsequential thing to get excited about, but the thought and reasoning behind explaining that warmed my heart and made me love the storyline that much more. She didn’t choose anyone else over him, she chose one snack over the other because of food allergies and that little bitty detail stuck with me so much. Love the book, as all others of hers I’ve read (Seriously if you haven’t read the Cerberus MC book, stop wasting your life and just do it already. It’s so good!)
- Reviewed in the United States on April 22, 2023Loved the story line. It was a good twist on the bully romance troupe. I feel like it ended suddenly though. Like we are missing 1/2 the story that could have made this great story an epic read.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 27, 2021What happens when your bully becomes more? Piper and Dalton take you on a very emotional read that will pull in and keep you glued to your kindle till the end.
Piper has been bully by Dalton and his friends since grade school. Now in high school at a party things go from bad to disastrous in the blink of eye the accident changes both of them. One of them losses their memory and from it starts to take off. Can there be forgiveness when before there was only pain? Can they see if they can be more or the past and secrets keep them apart? Absolutely amazing read. I was pulled right in and taken on read that made my head spin and my pulse race. All the twist and turns and loads of emotions to the unexpected I was blown away and definitely can't wait to read the next.

5.0 out of 5 stars What happens when the bully doesn't remember??
This book has flipped the bully genre on its head and I loved every single second of it. A bully who forgets everything he has done to the one girl he now desperately wants to be his. You really feel for these characters, the FMC who has battled everyday with abuse, torture and humiliation suddenly having her bully asking for forgiveness and trust. The bully whispering remember his past and is constantly being judged for a life he can't remember living and actions he doesn't remember carrying out. It's a beautiful story and I really loved these characters. Cannot wait to read more about Zeke in the next instalment of Westover Prep.

5.0 out of 5 stars It was AWESOME!
Wow! This was one emotional roller coaster ride. So different to any of the bully romances I’ve read before. I got caught up in this story and lost all track of time. Devouring this book in one sitting.
As you know high school kids can be so cruel. Dalton brings a whole new meaning to the word cruel. Piper goes through so much with him. Until a turn of events changes it all...
Not going to say too much. As you need to read for yourself to experience this story. I so hope we get more bully romance by this author in the future.

5.0 out of 5 stars Emotional but not overly so
I was a fan of the storyline and the characters. ❤️ One Eighty is the first Marie James book I've read and won't be the last!

4.0 out of 5 stars Well written high school bully
“He’s spiteful. He’s gorgeous, but he’s evil incarnate.” Loved this. Just needed more follow up.
Enjoyed the development, lots of angst, what if moments. The ten year history of bullying and the psychological damage, well handled. Self harm topics addressed. Lovely writing style.
Push and pull between Dalton and Piper was enjoyable. She didn’t just give in or forgive, making it believable.
“The guy has amnesia. He didn’t have a personality transplant. He’s been vicious since the day he was born.”
Enjoyed the amnesia aspect. I would have loved more character development, deja vu moments even. Dalton’s side, reasoning behind his behaviour. His hatred and the drive behind destroying Piper’s life. A lot was told, I just needed a little more to push it up a star rating.

4.0 out of 5 stars Bully romance
I liked the premise of the story. Dalton bullies Piper relentlessly. Not only that, he gets the entire school to bully her. One night, Dalton is wasted and Piper just wants to go home. Since they're neighbours, she takes the keys to his car and drive them home. They argue and get into a car accident. Dalton wakes up with no memory of his life for the last 10 years and thinks Piper is the most beautiful girl he's ever seen. Despite their past, Piper finds herself slowly letting Dalton in.
I liked the premise for the story. Love the memory loss aspect. The story felt a bit unfinished to me. I really feel like we never got down to the root cause of why Dalton hated Piper. Also, without giving it away... I felt like the ending was missing something. Some resolution to what happened to Dalton.
I would have liked to see a bit more there. What would have happened if things went back to how they were before.
Overall, it was a good story. To me it felt like a slow burn for the smut.
I wonder if we're getting more of Dalton and Piper.
