For One Night Only: The road to redemption can sometimes be a dangerous one Kindle Edition

4.2 out of 5 stars 24 ratings

Jake Morrison is seeking redemption for a terrible mistake ...

Jake Morrison's position as Dom has been deeply shaken by his unwitting role in the recent death of his sub.

When he's allowed back into Langley's Pleasure House after a six-month ban, he longs to make amends in any way possible.

Club-owner Langley's surprising request for an unexpected encounter, however, tests Jake's sense of purpose to the core. He's willing to learn, but the lesson might not be one he expects...

A powerful read for all lovers of erotic romance.

Reviews:

"This short story is a carefully crafted piece of work, almost an analysis of the clearly complex concept of power in BDSM. There is a judicial balance between the two sexual encounters described that reinforces the lesson of this BDSM morality tale. It was a compelling piece of writing."
(Jessewave Reviews)

"This is one of those books that sticks with the reader even after they have finished the book and has you wondering what more will happen between Jake and Langley in the future. The author did a wonderful job of pulling me into the story and keeping me entertained all the way to the end." (The Romance Studio)

"This is a story about personal growth as much as power play. If you like pondering the nature of D/S relationships, are interested to see the impact emotions can have on something many would call purely physical encounters, and if you enjoy well-written stories, don't miss this one!" (QMO Books)

I love this book. It is short, but wonderful written. It makes you look at the characters in a whole new light and just might make you think before you judge some again. I loved it for all its beauty.

This was my first book of this type. I wish it had been longer so that I could have gotten to know the characters better. Good descriptions and back story. I learned a lot from this book. I did find it funny the dom-sub culture seems to be very needy. LOL. Good, fast read.

Thoroughly enjoyed this story filled with angst and dark emotions. We read many stories of the confident, competent Dom, but seldom does anyone delve into the darkness that can surround the type of emotional control these people can have over other people's lives. This is one story I would have loved to see developed into a full length novel.

Emotionally repressed Dom whose sub committed suicide has to work to be trusted again and allowed back in to a private club. Very emotional packs a punch for a short story.

BDSM short story of which 1/3 was backstory/recall. Interesting for what it was, but didn't leave me wanting more.

Kindle own, contemporary, BDSM, D/s, death of a side character

I'm a bit touchy about Dom and sub stories, I really don't get it but fully appreciate that some need it, parts of it can be rather touching actually, the relationship of full trust. This is rather short, very sad at the start as a Dom is getting over the loss of his sub and much later is nervously trying again, it does have a touching ending though. A nice read.

5.0 out of 5 stars First, not last.

This first read from this author and I quite enjoyed it - it will not be my last. The story, short as it is, is compelling and the the style is refreshingly clean and direct. The narrative flow carries nuanced meaning between the lines leaving no need for exposition. The sex scenes are titillating without being overly lurid (much as I like it!) The wordcraft is excellent and thankfully, so is the editing and proof reading. This is a nice change of pace in erotica and if you're down for the genre, I suggest you not miss this.
